I was so excited to find out I could get Chicago stuff/deep dish pizza after being gluten free for a year. I was so excited my boyfriend and I actually went to the restaurant because I could not wait. The waitress said she preferred the deep dish gluten over the stuffed, and I should have listened. The pizza was very good, but gluten free dough is never going to stand up to real dough. I was thinking that with stuffed having the extra layer of dough would be better, but I was wrong. I ended up scraping off the top layer and just eating the bottom crust, cheese, sauce and toppings. Overall, I am very impressed. We love coming here to get the classic feel of a deep dish pizza, and with multiple locations we were able to find a location that delivered to us for a cozy stay at home Friday meal. This place is a family owned restaurant chain with a cozy feel inside. Every time we went the wait staff has been great and catered to every need. The menu is very vast so they don't just stick to amazing pizza. I have gotten multiple sandwiches, calzones, and pastas that keep me coming back. Amazing! I'm celiac and the first thing they asked when we sat down is "is anyone gluten free?" And brought gluten free rolls to the table. They have gluten free everythunt on their menu. A lot has changed since my last review in 2008. For one, I can't recall the last time I was up until 3:30am. I no longer drunk eat. And I haven't enjoyed stuffed pizza in ages, as I've been gluten free for the better part of a year. Well imagine my delight when I learned Chicago's Pizza not only offers a gluten-free stuffed pizza, but they make the crust in house. Usually when a pizzeria offers a gf crust, it comes in one size only (typically 10-inch) and they purchase it from Sysco. These guys make their gf rendition in every size. Nice! Still, I had my reservations. But I'm ecstatic to report that this gluten-free take on a Chicago original is just as good as the real thing. Perhaps better! We ate here for a friends birthday, and I ordered a burger to split with my boyfriend. I liked it, he felt the meat wasn't seasoned well-enough, and that the burger was greasy. He described it as "meh". Also ordered the loaded fries, and they were good, but underwhelming. They also forgot to bring our fries and coleslaw with the burger, though our server was wonderful and brought it immediately when it was pointed out (he offered to take it off the bill, first). I found that the fries were yummy, even when reheated, though I found the coleslaw to be average. They do have white Monster on the menu, which is unusual, and they are also open nice and late. People at our table had the deep dish pizza (available by the slice), and they said it was really good. I'm definitely interested in returning and seeing if the pizza lives up to the hype. I liked the food, and I'd definitely return, but at this point, I wouldn't go out of my way to make a special trip. read more

My friend came to visit Chicago and so I really wanted her to try some deep dish pizza and I looked up GF deep dish pizza options in Chicago. I found Chicago's pizza, which is known for their deep dish crust that they have attempted to perfect over the years. Sure enough the crust is at PERFECTION. As a Chicagoan I am familiar with regular deep dish pizza. We ordered a sausage pepperoni deep dish gluten free pizza and it tasted like REGULAR GLUTEN pizza. The crust was DELICIOUS. I had to ask the waitress if it was gluten free. It was almost too good to be true. The taste was like Giordano's but better. It was cheesy and delicious. They also gave us complimentary gluten free focaccia bread for us and that was an interesting taste but not bad! There were plenty of other gluten free options like calzones but we did not get a chance to try. We called in 10 minutes before arrival so we did not have to wait that long for the pizza to come out. The employees were very nice and accommodating. Oh and we ordered a medium pizza and surprisingly the price was pretty cheap. I used my 25% off from Yelp and the bill came out to be around $22. I was super excited to find a gluten-free deep dish pizza in Chicago while visiting for the weekend. When I placed my order, there was an estimated 40 minute delivery time. Totally fine. 90 minutes later I still had not received my order, nor did anyone from the store contact me about any delays. I called the store and was told their ovens had stopped working 1/2 hour ago. No one contacted me with this info or updated my order status to "delayed." I finally received my (super cold) pizza over 2 hours after placing my order. Both the person I spoke to on the phone and the delivery person said the manager would call me the next day (Sunday). I never received a call. I'm sure the pizza would have been delicious had I received it sooner. The customer service could use some major improvements. read more

We went here because they offer gluten free crust. It was very good and I would recommend checking it out. We got the GF Stuffed Pizza (because I don't know where else we would ever get that anywhere else) and it was very delicious! I would love to go back and try the other GF options that they have. The plus is that the GF pizzas come in all sizes, so we were able to order one medium and share. Most GF pizzas come in 10" so it was nice to have more size options. I had the best deep dish pizza (I had No Cheese) added ground beef and giardiniera! It was mind blowing. The delivery to downtown Chicago did take 1 hour and 40 min, and they said 45 min to 1 hour. I would've dinged anyone else a star for it. But it was so spectacular I've got to give them 5 stars. The ground beef is also Gluten Free and pretty amazing. I can't believe it's been two years now since I discovered this gem, and it's been two years of delicious gluten free pizza -- thin crust, stuffed, and even calzones. Even my gluten-eating friends and family love their pizza and can't taste the difference when it's without the gluten! The wait time for pick-up is always reasonable, and in the many (and I mean many) times I have come here over the years, I've only had a problem with the quality once and I've never had them mess up an order. Unbelievable, I order pizza bread and buffalo wings today. I got my delivered order and the wings were old and cold. I called them and the actual manager Chris told me they were not old that they were prepped yesterday. Well people it seems like we get day old food when we pay for fresh food. I am truly upset! At work today someone brought us pizza from Chicago's. Even though it's right down the block, I hadn't had it before. We had several thin crust pizzas. (No deep dish or stuff, so I don't know how those are). The thin crust pizza was good. I love Giordanos thin crust pizza (and stuffed), and this was a lot like Giordanos. It had a nice crunchy crust, a good sauce, and nice cheese blend. The cheese pizza was really solid, as was the veggie pizza. I didn't try the meat pizzas, but coworkers said the Hawain pizza was the best they'd had, and everyone liked the special. I would absolutely eat this again and again. read more

I really liked this place. The pizza was tasty. The staff were really nice and I enjoyed everything about my time here. It wasn't super crowded and there were plenty of seats to be had but I was pleased that I went in and gave it a try. The deep dish takes about 39 minutes so I grabbed a beer and hung out while watching the Olympics. Pretty cool place to pull up to the bar and have a beer or two. I think I might come back and try it out sometime. The pizza was delicious and I almost ate the whole thing. Though it was massive and I ended up taking some away to enjoy the next day. THIS PLACE LIES. We had a coupon for this place: $10 off your order of $20+. Ordered and added a few extra things to get the total to $20. Got a receipt after entering the coupon and the code didn't work. Called after waiting 20 minutes past our estimated delivery time to check on things and mentioned that the code didn't work. Was then told that the coupon only works if it's $20 total BEFORE taxes, which the coupon does NOT say, anywhere. Both the employee and the general manager I spoke to about this were very rude, not helpful and said the only way they could apply it was if I ordered more, therefore calling the driver back and waiting additional time. At one point, the manager basically said it was my fault for ordering so early. I apologize for giving you business; didn't know it was such a problem to apply a coupon that you refused to let us use due to a couple dollars difference. The card even says "restrictions written on back" but says nothing about the order must be $20 total before taxes. Never again. Not to mention: pizza still hasn't arrived and it's now 11am (estimated delivery time was 10:30). Edit to reply to the deceptive comment: I did not call this business after the driver arrived. I called twenty to thirty minutes BEFORE the already late driver arrived. So right off the bat, this business is lying. Second of all, how nice of a business to assert that I'm trying to pinch pennies! Isn't that so kind and exactly how you treat customers? When placing this order with the coupon in mind (and by the way, legally speaking: if you want to have the coupon be applicable to a total after taxes, you have to notate that--simply just thinking "that's how every business does it" is not how you run a business), I did not think of taxes.
