We're huge Chick-fil-A fans and have visited plenty of locations across the country--Missouri, Colorado, Kansas, Arizona, and many places in between. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience we've had. We waited over 20 minutes for our order, which felt especially frustrating for a fast food restaurant. The food itself was mediocre at best, and the service was nowhere near the level we've come to expect from Chick-fil-A. Jan. 2026 The location is right off the freeway, so it can be very busy depending on the time of day. The lot is big but most of the lot is shared with the rest of the strip mall. I normally order carry-out but I do recommend dining in when possible since the food tends to be on the colder side if you take it to go. The drive-thru wait time is 0/10. Every time I came to drive thru the wait was bad + the confirmation on my order was still incorrect is a bit much. Goodness gracious. I came to Yelp for Chick-fil-a's menu. What a total surprise to find the extremely low rating for the La Palma location. What? really? Ok, admittedly, I miss Marie Callendar's Pie n'stuff too (former business at this location), but, for me, Chick-fil-a is a welcome addition to our local La Palma fast-food landscape. I eat there at least once a week. Mostly salads. Why? Drive-thru. As some reviewers said, the delightful employees who greet us with a smile at the order box rain or shine keep me coming back. And, yes, I have eaten inside the restaurant. It's always been clean (dining area & restrooms), great service, good food. So far, my orders have been correct. By far the WORST Chick-fil-A I've ever been to. The first time I came here I just thought maybe I came on a bad day. Wrong. I've come here a couple more times and it just sucks. The bread is always dry, cold, and toasted just on one side. They always get something wrong with my order. Last time I came I found a hair in my food. Just there sitting on my cheese. Some days it's fine, other days it feels like a completely different restaurant. It's so inconsistent that I've genuinely wondered who is cooking each morning. Today was the final straw. I waited several minutes at the drive‑thru kiosk with no response, and the car in front of me actually gave up and left. When someone finally took my order, the line moved painfully slow. At the window, they confirmed the wrong name twice, even though only one lane was open. Apple Pay seemed to confuse the staff completely, and after an awkward exchange, they finally processed the payment. Then, after all that, they handed me someone else's entire order. We had such a wonderful experience thanks to Sunny (or Sony--sorry if we got the name wrong! Here's an emoji which is a safer bet). He was incredibly kind and attentive from the start. We asked for a small adjustment to our salad, and he made it happen without a second thought--no hassle, just a genuine willingness to help. Even though indoor dining was closed and we were eating outside, Sunny still came all the way out just to check if we needed drink refills. I was intending to stop by next door Habit Burger to eat my dinner there, and then claim my free drink reward^ from Chick-fil-A after that. Little did I know that when I opened the Chick-fil-A app on my phone, I had a reward for a free chicken sandwich* just because I was in SoCal! I don't think two rewards can be redeemed in one transaction, and since the free chicken sandwich reward was going to expire sooner than the free drink reward, I went for the complimentary sando. When I walked in on a Thursday evening, there wasn't anyone in line, but it still took over a minute for someone to come out and take my order. There certainly wasn't a staffing shortage because a handful of employees were walking by the register, some even making eye contact with me, but none of them acknowledged my presence. That was pretty annoying. Luckily, Lena, who took my order, seemed appreciative of my business and almost made me forget about the lackluster service everyone else provided. However, she did repeat a question she had asked even though I had already answered the first time, so maybe a little improvement there perhaps? It didn't take long for the sandwich to come out, probably about 5 minutes max. During those 5 minutes, I admired the interior of the restaurant, which had flowers on every table. Such a nice touch! They also have a fascinating motion-activated trash can where you essentially have to wave to the door at a close distance as a way to say "Open sesame!" There's a counter by the front door that has your usual suspects: napkins, utensils, sauce packets, and mints! If you want any of the Chick-fil-A sauces, including its namesake sauce, ask for it at the counter when you place your order! When I got my takeout bag, I took it back to my car to eat. I also asked for a cup of water, and it was given to me free of charge. Since I had just eaten a burger from Habit Burger minutes ago, I didn't want to overindulge and use a sauce on the chicken sandwich, so I just ate it as is. Obviously, it would have been better with a sauce, but it was still decent. Nothing special, however. The buns got too soggy, perhaps from being in its insulated bag for so long, and the chicken, while not exactly dry, wasn't really plump and juicy by any means. It still did the trick, however, so that's that. This Chick-fil-A is on the southwest corner of Orangethorpe and Valley View. Easy to get into whether you're driving east or westbound on the 91 freeway, but despite the ample parking in the plaza, getting out of the lot might be a challenge, especially with a bunch of cars coming in and out of the plaza. There are two drive-thru lanes that start on the far west side, and both lanes had quite some traffic at the time of my first visit. A fender bender could easily happen here if you're not being careful. I returned a second time to claim another free sandwich reward. This time, Mia was the employee who took my order, and she seemed pretty sweet from the little I interacted with her. I got my sandwich way faster this time; it was only about 30 seconds before Mia called my name and handed me my sandwich. Fast food indeed! lol I added some mustard this time, and it did make the sandwich taste better, though not by much. My comments from the first sandwich still apply here. Overall, not a bad Chick-fil-A to go to, but not quite the best. However, if you're craving chicken, and this is the closest location to you, I'd say go here, but don't expect everything to go smoothly. And definitely don't expect top-tier high-quality chicken on every visit. ^ This summer, Chick-fil-A is rolling out a mobile game that you can play to win some free food/drink rewards. It's called Code Moo https://www.playcodemoo.com/, but only on mobile devices! You simply have to answer three geography questions to claim a reward on a weekly basis, but be fast! There's only a finite number of rewards that can be won from this game. The week of my first visit, the reward was for a free drink. Good luck! * The reward was a promo for Angels baseball. There's even a cow inside holding up a sign implying that if the Angels score 7 runs in a game, fans can get a free chicken sandwich. When I looked up the promo online, it turns out the 7 runs has to be a home game, but the Angels don't necessarily have to win that game for the promo to count. I have given this chick fil a plenty of chances. However they have all seem to disappoint. Today was by far the worst. They ran out of biscuits, employee offered to serve an English muffin, then other employees were serving the drive thru line biscuits. She didn't even bother to mention that a new batch was being made and I could have waited a few more minutes. Employee walks away to make our iced vanilla cold brew which tasted like pure milk with a hint of old coffee. I ended up having to throw away my coffee since it was so bad. A very clean and vibrant Chick-fil-A Chain located close to the corner of Orangethorpe and Valley View Blvd. Food is of course of the regular Chick-fil-A style. I was in a hurry and needed a little filler upper for my stomach. I got the 8pc. Grilled Chicken nugget with the Chick-fil-A Sauce to go. Welcome to the newest CFA in the area! Parking is well thought out, and they even have clean air / carpool spots that everyone who isn't driving carpool or a clean air vehicle can use instead of illegally parking in handicap spots. Staff, as with most CFAs, are very friendly and attentive. Being new, they are slammed, and service has been a little slow. I'm sure the kinks will get worked out! I haven't had the option for curbside pickup, but there are spots for that. Interior is smallish, but who eats at the stores anymore? Outdoor seating is very nice, reminiscent of some in and outs. Two gender neutral toilets with changing stations, and the world's narrowest sinks await your pleasure. Oh ya, the chicken was on par with every other 5* CFA. Enjoy! read more

I gave my order today to a very polite lady Alexandra , with whom I shared my new granddaughter's photos ( sorry that's gonna be me for a little while). Got the spicy chicken sandwich meal ( comes with waffle fries and a drink), a deluxe chicken sandwich meal and one plain chicken sandwich plus three brownies. Chicken was tender, waffle fries just fresh out of the fryer (of course I grabbed a couple and burned my tongue a little lol). The Polynesian sauce is a great accompaniment to the sandwich. Straightforward, good food and great value for the price . Clean parking lot, easy exit from the plaza. This place gets really busy around noon but I beat the crowd by getting here at 1130. read more

Ok, so I'll start off by saying that this review isn't really about the establishment itself but more about the food I had here the other day. I dropped by here for the first time because I wanted to try the Honey Pimento Sandwich they have going on right now. I hadn't been to a Chick-fil-A in forever but the last couple times I had, I remember the food being pretty good. I ordered the sandwich, just the sandwich and it was a whopping 9$. I honestly couldn't believe it lol. For the size of the sandwich and everything, it is most definitely not worth that much money. I figured it must be that much because it's really good or something. It wasn't. It was extremely unsatisfying to eat. The bread was cold but the chicken patty was hot and the cheese and sauce they put on it was honestly not that great. It was one of the most mid sandwiches I've ever had from a fast food restaurant, and I find it really disappointing that I say that about a sandwich from Chick-fil-A because I like the food they sell for the most part lol. After this though, I don't think I will set foot in one again, at least for a while. I will give two stars because the workers were respectful and they had the sandwich out pretty quickly. However, every time I come to this chick fil a, usually for breakfast, they take an extremely long time, longer than every other drive thru I've been to. It would be ok if it was one or two times but this happens every time I come here.
