Brought my kids and we had an assortment. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken for lunch. The sauce was made in-house. I had come for fish, but got it on a whim when she told me they make their own Alfredo sauce. It was excellent, with generous portion of tender grilled chicken and a luxurious sauce I really enjoyed. I stole the bread from my son's lunch to dip in the sauce. My youngest son got a Philly cheesesteak with no peppers. He said it was "one of the best burgers I've had." Everhthing on bread is a burger to him. It was buttery - dripping with butter - which can be a plus or a minus to some. The meat was tender and flavorful. My other son had a mix n match fish. The catfish and perch were both delicious (I tried both) - crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. I kind of wished they made their own tartar sauce instead of getting packets, though. Under new management. It's much worse than before. The service wasn't good before and now it's even worse. All I asked for was some ketchup on the side and I was given attitude. The chicken isn't what it is before either, I come here a lot since it was walking distance from my place. They have a lot more hair/feathers tht wasn't properly plucked. This isn't even a one time thing now but at least 3 times since I decided to make the post. The floor is forever sticky, like it's never been clean. Well, this is old news. When this restaurant opened a few months ago near us, the fried chicken was freshly made and outstanding. Two weeks ago, our order was terrible--overcooked, dry, and seemed like it had been sitting awhile. But we gave them the benefit of the doubt that that was a fluke and ordered again today. Pass it on the road in Ann Arbor, had to stop and check it out. My friend, ordered chicken and I ordered fish and chips, catfish, with lots of fries,tarter sauce and maybe 20 ketchup packets! The fish was crispy and tender, not overcooked, with a good full flavor. I got the 8 pcs chicken (mixed), onion rings and twisted fries. I arrived, parked, entered and someone from the kitchen greeted me. I told her that I was here for pickup, told them which platform. Then this dude walks out from the kitchen, looks at the orders on the tables, places two bags on the counter and walks away. Never said, "your are all set" or "here's your order", just placed the bags and walked away. I had to ask if the two bags were my order and if I was all set, simple yes is all I got. I have gotten take out from here several times and my overall impression is that the food is reliable. The chicken is always piping hot and the wait isn't long at all. The potato salad has flavor, which is enhanced by plenty of paprika and a little cayenne. The macaroni and cheese is Velveeta style. Not bad, just plain. Prices are decent and the restaurant appears clean and maintained. Overall, I consider this a great take out option while in the area. read more

We had placed a large order and unfortunately most of us were not happy withe the food or after effects. First, we were not contacted about sides being out, they just substituted and wrote an apology on the containers. We would have chosen other sides. There was not an option for plain chicken fingers on the app or perhaps there are no plain chicken fingers. They were seasoned with hot sauce. The hot chicken fingers upset the stomachs of several people even though they did not eat much. The fish was simultaneously dry/overcooked while the crust was still mushy on the underside (the part touching the fish). The fries were a large cut and not bad. The ribs were good. Ranking a 3 because of the food. Online said they open at 10am. Got there a little after that, told they open at 10:30am. Cam back a about 10:32, told she would be right with me to take my order. 5 minutes later the counter person came and took my order. Was told it wine ready in 15 minutes. A half hour later to the minute it was finally ready. Oh and this with me being the first customer though the door. Would not go here if I was on my lunch time. You will want lots of time to wait. I have driven by this place and wondered about it for years. I knew it had to be good because despite its modest exterior, its been around for as long as I can remember. I started hearing word that yes, indeed, it was worth a shot. So, the other night when nothing sounded good to eat. I headed here. Sure, fried food is bad for you, but it tastes soooo gooood! I always assumed that a southern family must own the place. I don't believe that's the case, though. There is an older Asian gentleman who's often working there, as well as a woman who I believe is his wife. In any case, I haven't had the guts to try anything like gizzards, but so far, this place has certainly satisfied my fried cravings! When a joint has the word "fabulous" in the name, they better bring it, and Mary's does. The fried fish? Fabulous. I just wish they had tartar sauce that wasn't outta packets. Onion rings? Pretty durn great too. And they're so greasy they put an extra towel in the box to absorb the grease (as well as keep the heat in, I suppose). My fella loved the chicken, too. If you're ready to say "screw it" to eating healthy and just want to be sure that whatever you get is fried to a crispy golden brown, this is the place to do just that -- and on the *cheap*! One funny thing, though -- for a place that rocks at frying things, the actual french fries are surprisingly sorry. Skim 'em and get onion rings instead. Cheesesteak came highly recommended and was nothing that had me doing cartwheels. Husband either and gosh knows he is a sucker for meat and cheese. So chopped it seems almost like hamburger and even with extra cheese, there is something missing. Chicken we had seemed less than fresh. No idea if it is stellar fresh but trust me, do not accept anything less than. I would be willing to try again just to have a true piece to judge.
