This location on Miracle Mile is surrounded by amazing eateries. It wasn't surprising to find the staff very courteous and professional. They're very efficient here, and the format is the same assembly line chicken-chop shop that you've likely experienced at other Chicken Kitchen locations. That said, why would you go to a Chicken Kitchen when you're at Miracle Mile? This restaurant feels out of place on The Mile, where you can get some of the best food in the city by walking less than 5 minutes in any direction. So, I tried it, and it was fine. It got the job done, but it was nothing special. I had the Cuban wrap, which consisted of their chicken breast, yellow rice, black beans, lettuce, and tomatoes. The quesadillas was overpriced and just had cheddar cheese instead of a Mexican blend of cheese, which would've improved it. I had them add jalapeños. Otherwise the bland chicken, the bland tortilla, and the wrong kind of cheese would've really disappointed. BTW, they do measure everything here, so no giant Miami-size portions. I remember the first Chicken Kitchen I ever went to. It was the early 90's & during my 1 & only year at Lourdes. All the cool girls headed to the newly opened CK in South Miami after school so obviously my freshman self HAD to follow. Fast forward 30 years & CK is still consistently delicious. The best & by far, healthiest fast food option out there. This location in particular has such great service. Everyone is always so nice & friendly & ready to greet you with a smile. I always get the same: chicken breast platter with steamed broccoli & sweet potato & of course their mustard curry sauce. It's been a minute since I've written a Yelp review but my experience at this location was so disgusting, I felt I needed to. I walked in tonight to grab a quick dinner; as I made my way toward the counter I could see the employee on the other side was preparing what I assumed was a pickup order (there was no one else in the restaurant). As I approached the counter I watched this person sneeze into their open hand directly over the food they were preparing. They then proceeded to place the hand they had just sneezed into on the knife they were using to chop the chicken. No mask, no gloves (not that it would have made a difference), no regard for food safety or even basic hygiene. Needless to say I made a swift 180 and will never come back here. Also worth pointing out that the last time I visited this location I was made to feel pretty uncomfortable by an employee who made several unsolicited comments about my appearance. Nope. The chicken breast for the meal we ordered was diced into pieces instead of left whole and the chicken for our bowls was dried out. There's a reason why this restaurant was completely empty when we went. The Mexican bowl we ordered was bland and the tomatillo sauce was too salty. It is also very expensive. And being a good friend, I tag along a few times each month. We are frequent patrons of the Miracle Mile Chicken Kitchen. I stick to the salad (drenched in the curry mustard sauce). My friend gets the Chop Chop and a side of plantains. He then pours a cup of curry mustard over the top. The food is consistently good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is what I like to call "eating for sustenance." There's very little excitement surrounding going out for a Chop-Chop at Chicken Kitchen. It's a plate of grilled chicken on a bed of rice and beans with some lettuce and tomato. That's it. This will run between $6-7 for the regular portion. By far, the best part of any lunch here is the actual chicken. It's simply seasoned, and they do a nice job of grilling it. It's then chopped into little bite-size squares. What's lame is that all the Chop-Chops come standard with that gross cheap yellow rice that gets its color from FD&C Yellow #5 and FD&C Red #3. I know full well that the Chicken Kitchen isn't making yellow rice from scratch, lovingly coloring it with turmeric and saffron. Thankfully, brown rice is offered as an option, one I always choose. It costs about a dollar extra in total, which I typically find to be an insulting ticky-tack upcharge. I would understand charging more, if you're offering me something like Himalayan Red rice, that would be justifiable. But you're not. You're offering me the cheapest low-grade brown rice that you buy in bulk. I only eat here when I'm in dire need of a change of lunchtime scenery. read more

I was rushing to meet my girls Thursday night before the New Moon premiere but I had to eat something. Something cheap, quick and close by. A light bulb went off, Chicken Kitchen! The place was almost deserted this can sometimes be bad when ordering because the people working have been so bored that they just continue to slack on your order. Thankfully, this was not the case, the two people that were working were attentive courteous and even hooked up that little cup of chicken until it couldn't hold anymore. I grew up on Chicken Kitchen (south miami location) and it seems as though the world has evolved in the last 10 yrs but Chicken Kitchen has not. It only comes with lettuce and tomato, and any other topping costs 50 cents. So I ended up paying for a standard wrap I created with your basic toppings $8:50. The service was horrible. I have had Chicken Kitchen on two different occasion with similar experiences (one was delivery, one was take out). When I had it for delivery around lunch (I work about 5 blocks away from the mile) and it took more than 30+ minutes to arrive. My order was wrong. I asked for a wrapito and got a chop chop and asked for sour cream and didn't get any. The food was good so I decided to give it another try. I got takeout. Again, didn't get my order right and forgot my salad dressing and other items. Luckily I checked the bag before I left. The restaurant also smelled a little odd to me so I was glad I was getting takeout. I talked to other people and they are known for taking a long time to delivery and getting your order wrong. Called at 12 noon to place an order for delivery since I had received a flyer with a coupon for 15% off. I called 5 times. The first 4 I got either a busy signal, or it kept ringing until I got the tone for disconnected call. I finally got through to someone and was put on hold (they put down the phone on the counter while taking another order). Once my order was placed I was told 45 min delivery time so I said thank you and waited. After an hour and 10 minutes, I called to politely check on the status. I was told that due to a big lunch rush, my delivery was delayed and the food was still sitting at the store; however, it would be leaving with the next set of deliveries. It is now 1:45 and still no sign of the delivery driver. In Miami, I'm used to dealing with restaurants that are so popular and busy that you have to wait sometimes, but chicken kitchen is doing it ALL wrong. If the phones get busy due to lunch rush, get more phone lines or invest in a system that you can place callers on a professional hold. If there are too many deliveries on a lunch rush, call in more drivers. It's completely unacceptable that I am soon approaching TWO HOURS waiting on delivery of 3 bowls of (now very cold) rice and chicken from a store that is 0.7 miles away from my office. read more
