To make matters worse, the customer behind me had the same issue. He complained to the manager about how stingy they always are with the chicken, and from my perspective, he wasn't wrong I felt the same way about my so-called "large" order. The manager's response was that there was nothing she could do, which only frustrated him more. After he left without taking anything, she continued to talk about him while other customers were sitting there listening, which came off as unprofessional. It is baffling to see how companies overcharge for anything they are able to exploit. Chicken kitchen removes the skin after cooking to stay in line with their healthy objectives. But if you want to keep the skin they charge an additional fee. This is a product that was removed not an extra topping. How are they charging extra for something the chicken originally came with. The toppings are all an extra $1.50+ and again... they give you the least possible amount. The worst of it all is the sauce cups. After 3, they charge you AGAIN for extras. But now here it goes: they CHOPPED the size of the sauce cups in HALF. So you have no other option but to ask for more. What happened to the old chicken kitchen??? Tried CK after years of not coming here and I wasn't missing out on much. Once you find the few pieces of chicken underneath piles of lettuce and tomato, you'll find that it's bland and has little to no taste. The cilantro garlic sauce is the only thing that gives the food flavor and it contains way too much garlic - in a very overpowering way. Got the Cuban bowl and the only thing that diferentes it from a regular bowl is the beans. The beans aren't seasoned and much like the chicken have little to no taste. I have been eating Chicken Kitchen for many years before all the bowl counter service restaurants exploded in Miami. There are several locations and thankfully they opened one close to our house on Sunset Drive and 87 avenue. The bowls are called Chop Chop and I usually go for the regular which is chopped chicken topped on a bed of rice. Than you are able to topped it off a sauce of your choice, my favorite is the famous mustard curry but since I am try to diet I choose the salsa. The bowls also come with a slice of pita which I usually opt out since the rice is enough carbs. read more

Michael typically goes for the yellow rice with black beans and double chicken (although 1 serving is still a GENEROUS amount). Their curry mustard is a must have. The staff at this location are friendly and if you go there often enough, they recognize your face. Each order is made in mere minutes and is always FRESH. What's the point of ordering pitas when you sell completely frozen pitas that have to be on thawed in order for us to create pitas to make what we enjoy. The pitas that you guys sell are completely useless if we can't fill them up with what we want. I just happened to be walking by and decided to try one of their Deluxe Chop Bowls before going to Yelp but this time I am glad I didn't read the reviews! Is this bad to say...?? Have to be honest and say that service was very good and the manager loaded my bowl up with food! I ordered the large bowl and it would have been enough for 2 people. Chicken, rice, lettuce and tomatoes were all fresh and the Curry sauce was not watered down and as tasty as any other Chicken Kitchen I have been to. Not sure why this location has such a low score. It's the new year and I was seeking a light and healthy option for lunch- enter Chicken Kitchen. I went with the small Deluxe Chop-chop which is chicken, yellow rice, lettuce, and tomatoes. The portion size was plentiful imo, and everything tasted nice and fresh. The lettuce and tomato were nicely chilled, too- which I am a stickler for. The gentleman who prepared my bowl was polite and smiling, as well as the gentleman who was at the register. He offered me two cups for sauce and asked if that was enough. It was for me, but I like that he was open to providing me more if I had wanted. The sauce station was spotless and I opted for a curry sauce and a salsa. The curry sauce was good and rich and the salsa was very fresh and cold. Only slight negative is prices may be on the slightly higher side, but not too bad- and the pita bread was on the stale side. After a four hour drive home my girlfriend and I were craving Chicken Kitchen. We walked into the CK on Kendall and 107th. We ordered a large original chop chop. 1st complaint. As you know CK measures out their chicken in those white measuring cups. The gentlemen at the counter was cutting the chicken and then added the chicken to the measuring cup. To my surprise the measuring cup already was 1/2 full with old, cut chicken. Who can answer my next question. How long was that chicken sitting in the measuring cup? Now I have a mix of warm chicken from the grill and the cold chicken sitting in the measuring cup. That's a terrible practice. 2nd complaint. At the register the cashier asks what sauces we want. I said I'll have 4 mustard curry. We pay and then look at the receipt. We had a charge for the sauces. I immediately questioned this and she said the large only comes with 3 sauces not 4. Which I can understand as store policy. The reason why I am upset is because I took that as the cashier being sneaky. She could have easily told me this dish comes with 3 sauces and the 4th is an extra charge. At least with that information I can make an informed decision. In this case, I would have said 3 sauces is enough. Overall I had a really poor experience today. I was served cold chicken and was charged for ab extra sauce which I would not have ordered if the information was presented to me. It has been a long time since I've been to Chicken Kitchen and/or this location. I have to say a lot has changed. Change can be a good thing, but not in this instance. The prices are a lot more expensive then I remember. I'm ok with higher prices if the quality has improved and/or portion size. Unfortunately nether is the case. Was going to order the Mexican (my favorite) come to find out it has changed. Now to get the guacamole in the Mexican I have to order the "Bazooka" and you guessed it... Pay more!! A small teaspoon of guacamole!! The chicken was portioned out in small measuring cups. If it doesn't fit you don't ask for it or they'll charge you extra ($1.99)! Chicken was dry so you better load up on the mustard curry sauce. The good news is they now have wrapitos (that's Spanglish for wrap). Might be a good alternative to mask the dry chicken. The guy "chopping" the chicken seamed annoyed that we ordered. But the lady who checked us out was at least nice. Place was empty. I can understand why. read more

Let me tell you, I have only gone here a couple times since out of convenience and with many months in between and I remember the man at the front making the food for me. He is just such a delight and friendly. Made me change my one star review to a 5 after the couple times I have been back and he was consistently amazing.
