Hanger pangs kicked it after running so many dang errands. Comin' off the 99c store next door (and since I've had this and the Crenshaw location bookmarked for FOREVER!) it was the perfect time to try 'em. Open and high ceiling concept = me likey. And the smell of food wafting around made me even hangrier. There first thing I look at on a first run at any Mediterranean restaurant is a gyro. That's the bar I set to decide how well the place is. Gyro it is! There was no line on a midafternoon Saturday, but half the restaurant was occupied which I found impressive considering the time was nowhere near the lunch or dinner rush. They are popular. It wasn't long before my sammich got to me. Fresh veggies and well-seasoned meat were wrapped in a warm and fluffy pita. It was delicious, sure, but unfortunately, there is a downside. The quantity of veggies was a bit too abundant for the amount of meat that came with the sammich. The onions got overpowering with each bite. The whole combo could use a bit more balance. BUT! There is a saving grace, and that would be their garlic spread. The overall flavor escalated as I smeared some of that stuff with each bite, YUM! FOOD: 3.5. SERVICE: 3.5. VALUE: 4. Reasonable for what I got. The gyro was big enough for a second meal. PARKING: Private lot shared with lots of other businesses. Shouldn't be an issue. OVERALL: 3.75. Unless you're a vampire, the garlic spread is must-have. TRUST. I'd come back - or check out the Crenshaw location - and make a kind request to ease up on the onions should I order the gyro again. Overall a good first run. read more

So, this was a "salad" that I couldn't even choke down- rather choke on. First of all, I appreciate the amount of chicken, however .... They are LITERALLY just torn off an old rotisserie carcass. Also, why is the amount of green onions necessary?! This 'salad' is literally just hand ripped chunks thrown into an container. As much as I like scallions, there was SOOO many and the size of dry chicken pieces manhandled- oh boy... I couldn't even eat without choking. Tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers were sparse, unripe and flavorless. I'm just angry for the heartburn from the literal CROP of raw onions literally thrown into a container. I've been a big fan of Chicken Maison. I've been to all locations. My go to location is the one on Prospect. Came to this location since I was in the area. I called them as I was driving to place my order when I was put on hold. 5 minutes had passed, and by that time, I arrived at the location so I hung up. My first thought was that they were going to be super busy, but only to be surprised that they weren't busy at all! Only one customer was at the counter and there were two workers taking orders. WTH?! I mentioned that I was put on hold for over 5 minutes and no one picked up, even showing the gal behind the counter my iPhone with the phone # and minutes. I did get an apology. Food 4 stars, phone orders / customer service 1 star. read more

I have driven by this place so many times, finally decided to try it. Busy place in a small strip mall. Seat yourself, order at counter, number is given to place on table, and food is delivered when ready. TV monitors on for sports viewing etc. Ordered : Gyro salad- Huge salad with romaine, cucumbers, onions, sliced red peppers, rice, gyro meat, and I had the lemon dressing with yogurt dip on side. The salad was definitely a meal in itself. Good, but it could have had a little less red peppers and onions and a little more gyro meat. I had to remove some of the onions and red peppers, too overpowering. Chicken Kebob special- two mildly marinated grilled chicken kebobs with rice and small salad. Chicken was juicy, not dry. Rice ok and good texture. Yogurt dip had mild garlic flavor. Overall ok, would have to come back to try other items on menu. read more

We went big with the family meal, which included 2 whole chickens, 4 large sides, and pitas bread for $38.95+$2.50 for the spicy lemon garlic seasoning. We were hoping to have a nice lunch inside, but had to quickly change our plans and order the food to go, when we noticed that most of the tables only accommodated two people. Overall, chicken was juicy and if you want an added burst of flavor, add the spicy lemon garlic seasoning. Pretty delicious, but I would have preferred a bit more spice. The spice level was pretty much non existent. Also, be prepared to be very thirsty after the meal. So the mediocre part of the meal for us was the sides. Not your typical potato salad or cole slaw. The potato salad included large chunks of red potatoes and flavorwise, just odd. Maybe a bit too much vinegar, just like the coleslaw. The rice and hummus were good. But, definitely missing any kind of wow factor. With parking being chaotic at lunchtime, lack of seating to accommodate large parties, and sides that just don't cut it, we won't be back. I have been here a few times. I am hooked on the spicy garlic chicken. It is tangy rich garlicky and spicy. The only down side here is that hummus is extra? This is not the only place that does this, but why? The accompanying rice salad and flat bread are great. The pricing is reasonable and food is great. Picked up takeout from this branch as it was more on my way, but my wife and I agreed that the quality wasn't on par with other branches we've been to...including our go-to in South Redondo. The chicken was noticeably overcooked. Case in point, I was only able to get through 2 of my 6 drumstick meal before the dried out meat got to me. Found this place on Yelp, and it wasn't the first time I saw it. It was close to where I was at the time. I will say I'm so happy I was able to stop in and try it out. Honestly, the food is really simple, fresh, and of course...delicious. I ordered the spicy lemon garlic chicken with brown rice and vegetables. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. I feel chicken is really hard to make delicious. I mean, obviously you have chicken wings and what not. But what this place has done, it's perfect. I'm not an expert, and don't know about the traditional food, or what it's supposed to taste like. But I can tell you I'll be coming back here, and frequently. Had a tasty meal with a friend. Plenty of choices. All the kabob combos have one meat and one veggie kabob, with two sides. I chose to "upgrade" the veggie kabob to a meat one for an added charge, then used one of my sides to get steamed veggies. Worked well for me. The meal also came with a garlic sauce that was delicious. Pita is available, but I did not have any. The service was efficient, the staff were friendly. The food was brought to our table. Let me tell you - it was better than Olive Garden (if you like Olive Garden). Not only delicious but seriously plus feed 3 people!!! Horrible service and horrible food! There's a 7 person capacity inside the Resturant and it was beyond capacity. Employee rudely asked everyone to go outside. If it was stated to go in a professional manner it would have been okay because it's the rule. It's the way she communicated that was very rude. Once everyone was thrown out, a bunch of ppl went inside. We can't hear if our order is ready because they only yell it from the inside. So make sure you have great hearing. She then told everyone to go back out after a new crowed went in but someone told her to wait outside instead. she then decided to let everyone in because she couldn't confront the guy but was able to rudely tell us all to go outside. Picking up food? Careful bc it will be at capacity so proceed cautiously. The food is not made in the order it's received, we phone ordered and were told 20 minutes. Came here within the 20 and waited an additional 30 minutes. My sister ordered separately at the same time and hers was done on time. So plan ahead and expect a long wait in a crowded place. Food is horrible. Dry pasta and it's not even warm! Had a pound dried sun tomatoes, sauce is too thin and tasteless. read more
