The place is super cute and girly. I stood at the front waiting for someone to take my order. There were 3 girls at the registers and they all were acting busy, in fact too busy to even greet us. I waited about 10 minutes in front, at the registers for them to finish talking amongst themselves. Finally, I ordered. I got 3 three different flavors classic, lemon basil, and jalapeño. We stopped in about 10 days ago and really enjoyed this restaurant. Every staff member we dealt with was very kind and welcoming. The food was good and we were served quickly. I had the egg salad because I'm not much for chicken and it was very good. My husband loved his chicken salad as well. The only thing I didn't really care for was the tomato bisque. I eat very little meat (I know - my choice to go there but I did find things to eat and knew that beforehand) and the tomato bisque tasted as if it may have had a beef base - or something. On the other hand, my husband devoured it! So take that as you will. We were in Albuquerque from out of town visiting and we saw this restaurant that we had never been to. We decided since so many people were in front to go check it out during an off hour. We got in there and the part owner greeted us and showed us all samples of the different types of wonderful chicken salad to Taste. Then we ordered and were thoroughly pleased with our choice. I can't say enough great about this place! Short story: my son and fiance had their wedding rehearsal venue cancel on them last minute. We called here to change the catering location and they offered to host the wedding party there with only a few hours notice! I went thru the drive-thru window and it was quick! I liked the jalapeño chicken salad, but it had a bit too much mayo for me. I had a sample taste of the cucumber/dill chicken salad, which I really like! I will go back again. But next time, I will NOT get the croissant. We ordered the Classic Carol, Sassy Scotty, Cranberry Kelli, and Dixie Chick. All stupid gimmicky names for basically the same bland-ass chicken salad. Where do I start? There were no distinguishable taste differences among all the "flavors." A little salt and better quality ingredients go a long way. The chicken was low quality -- preshredded and thready. A place that has "chicken salad" in their name BETTER make sure their product is on point! Use fresh hand shredded chicken so your salad isn't that gross mushy BS you pass off to your customers. It's just plain nasty AF. The pimento cheese? Effing laughable. Like the chicken salad, they use preshredded fake cheddar cheese with a few specks of pimento. Also like chicken salad, the cheese was BLAND. It had none of the signature taste and tang of real pimento cheese. The cheap Club Crackers knock-off they serve with your meal were ALL BROKEN! How do you spread the cheese or scoop of salad on your cracker when they're all basically bread crumbs? The most flavorful part of the order was the free buttercream cookie. A relatively new offering in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area, Chicken Salad Chick received ample publicity when it opened. Distrusting the media, yes, I assumed most of the rave reviews were marketing hype. So, I went to the far ends of northwest Albuquerque to try it myself. Am I glad I did. The food is indeed out of this world good - I don't know how they can make chicken salad so appealing. But they do. The portions are just right, and the service is astonishingly fast. There is a pleasant dining room and, weather permitting, outdoor tables. The pièce de résistance, however, is the owner. During that first visit, the system broke down, and I was less than satisfied with the service. The food was great, but I didn't get everything I ordered. I contacted the Facebook page via messenger and got a rapid response from the owner, who asked detailed questions about my experience. And then invited me to return and enjoy a meal on the house. I did that today, and, of course, the service today was superb, as was the meal. If all owners today paid attention to detail like Jennifer, the food industry would be better. I plan to return repeatedly. I give every new establishment time to work out the kinks. Chicken Salad Chick in Albuquerque is doing that now, and it is worth your time to travel to the far ends of the city to eat some delicious food. Thanks, Jennifer, for doing the right thing. The good = The restaurant is very nice inside and well decorated. The service is really good with a sample station before you order. Here is the bad= I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and potato soup to go. I finished my soup and half a sandwich and within 1 minute from completing my last bite my stomach was turned inside out.
