It feels a bit early to be back with an update, but I must report that the grape salad and potato soup, both left out of my previous review, were both hits. I got to share the grape salad with my husband in the car during a road trip, and he really enjoyed it as well. I was craving something good today, and while I was tempted to place the same order, minus the broccoli salad, I decided to be adventurous and try out some new flavors. After doing some research, I landed on the Jalapeno Holly and Buffalo Barclay. I ordered the Sandwich Meal with two sides. I got the Buffalo Barclay on the croissant with lettuce and bacon. My two sides were a scoop of Jalapeno Holly chicken salad and a cup of Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup. I picked up my order in-store and the dining area is just darling! I never use that word as a descriptor, but it just feels fitting. The store was busy. There were tons of folks coming in and out, picking up to-go orders and several people were seated at the inviting tables and booths in the large, but warm dining area. My meal came with several packs of crackers to accompany my scoop of chicken salad, a pickle (I don't remember receiving one with my previous order), and the individually wrapped cookie. The soup was warm and delicious. It needed a bit of salt and pepper, but it was very creamy and filling. I ate it first. Then, I dove into the Jalapeno Holly with the crackers. Sooo good! At this point, I doubt that I'll find a variety of their chicken salad that I don't like. I'm a fan. The food is delicious and light, but filling. I feel healthy eating it. I really like the chicken salad at Chicken Salad Chick. I always thought my homemade chicken salad was salad was the best, but I find I like theirs better. The chicken is tender and moist and the seasonings are subtle. This was my first visit to this location near Meijer in Carmel. They were offering a Valentine's Day special of two meals for $14, which is a great deal. I had a scoop of Carole's Salad and a bowl of loaded potato soup. The salad was delicious but the soup could have been a little hotter. The soup tasted made from scratch and was good. My husband had a Carole's on a Croissant with a Broccoli Salad side. The sandwich was huge and tasty. The Broccoli salad was fresh with crispy bacon. He lived his lunch. The dining room is cute and clean with lots of seating. They have outdoor seating as well. The staff is friendly and efficient. The restrooms are clean. Parking is close in the little strip mall. I'll be back. read more

It gives me cheery and happy place vibes. I'm not sure if it's alway decorated like this or because it was customer appreciation day. I love that you could sample any/all the flavors you want. This was perfect as a first timer. I wanted spicy so I tried all 3. I ended up with the buffalo Barclay and it did not disappoint. I also got the broccoli slaw salad and it was pretty good. I feel like this would be a pleasant place to take your mother or mother-in-law for lunch while out shopping. It's a fast casual restaurant with food that's a bit more elevated than burgers and fries, but you order at the counter and the food comes quickly, so it's not as involved as a sit-down restaurant. As for the food: Like the name implies, Chicken Salad Chick specializes in chicken salad. I am very particular about my chicken salad and like it made a specific way, so chicken salad is typically something I make at home. But I've heard good things about this chicken salad, so I had to try when a new location popped up in Carmel. I got Lauryn's Lemon Basil chicken salad, which comes either as a sandwich or with crackers. I got crackers because I wanted to see what kind of crackers it would come with. That's another thing that I'm particular about: crackers. (Are you sensing a theme? I like things a certain way.) A cracker can make or break the meal when it's 50% of the meal, and the crackers here are Kellogg's brand wheat crackers, which I had never heard of but tasted like Ritz Club crackers. I wish CSC offered water crackers or some other type of cracker that wasn't so salty and buttery, because the chicken salad was also salty and unctuous, so it would have been nice to have a cracker that wasn't competing with the chicken salad. The chicken salad meal comes with a salad or soup, and I got the tortilla soup. The tortilla soup was very good! It had bits of cojita cheese in it, which was a nice touch and didn't go unnoticed by me. I got my food to go, and it was packaged nicely. I tried the new chicken salad chick in Carmel. I've always heard great things about it the franchise but have never been. I'm a big fan of chicken salad but usually prefer my homemade recipe over deli style. I got the sandwich meal which was plenty of food with a side of broccoli salad, pickle and cookie. I ordered the classic flavor of Fancy Nancy. As for the flavor of the chicken salad I wasn't super impressed. The ingredients tasted fresh but everything was a little bland to me. I thought it needed much more salt and pepper at a minimum, maybe some garlic powder too. I'd be willing to go back and try another flavor since it's a good option for lunch or a light dinner. read more

I understand they are suffering from staffing shortages like so many others, but there was no note on the door or anything ~ they just closed. Even when I phoned at 4:30 PM with a question they didn't mention they'd be closing early. So just a heads up check before you go. Very frustrating. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken salad BLT. The food was delicious! Our meal had a chicken sandwich, with lettuce, tomato, and the chicken salad of our choice. I had the Sassy Scotty and my boyfriend had the Buffallo Barclay. Both were extremely tasty! Came with a large pickle, our choice of side (his was a grape salad while I did the mac and cheese), and a small cookie. I had a coupon for $10 off of $25, so we added on this s'more dessert from their dessert tray up front to get the deal. The dessert was so soft! The prices are very good for the amount of food you get. The restaurant was very clean, the staff was friendly, and I definitely plan on coming back! I finally tried this place. I ordered the chicken salad BLT with chips and added pasta salad and a cookie. When I got home I noticed they forgot my chips in the bag. The pasta salad was just ok, nothing special. My sandwich was very good, but the bacon was fatty, so I took it off. I wouldn't order the bacon again. I got the southern chicken salad with pickles and egg. I really liked the chicken salad. Overall, once I took the bacon off, the sandwich was great. The frosted sugar cookies were the star. These are so soft and declicious. You even get a mini one with your meal. Looking forward to trying other types of chicken salad. read more

I love this place! Many chicken salad options to choose from but they also have soups, salads, sandwiches, and pimento cheese. The service is always quick and friendly and the chicken salad is ice cold exactly the temp it should be eaten. I hope they open more locations around central Indiana because its such a cool concept and a great option for when you don't want something greasy or fried. read more

Never been here before but had been hearing great things so gave it a go! This location was very clean, well maintained, had ample parking and had very friendly and patient staff while I studied the menu. I'm not able to recall the exact chicken salad I got, but I do know it's flavor was a little bland and there was not enough provided to actually cover the croissant (sandwich). While my first trip wasn't what I had hoped, I do plan to return and try again, as it seems like my experience may have been a fluke. read more

I'm normally a big fan of Chicken salad chick, but this visit didn't live up to my normal expectations. Granted it was about 45 minutes berfore closing, and between Christmas and New Year's, but I was still a little disappointed. They didn't have any of my first 3 choices, so I ended up getting something just because I had been craving it so much. I ended up with the Careol, which is good, but I ordered a sandwich, and when I got home and opened the bag, I just had a scoop, and a very small scoop. The entire time I was in there, they were cleaning so they could close. I have a feeling they closed when I wqalked out. Not at all friendly or even couteous. I hope this was a one time occurance, because I've been to several other stores and nover had anything like thisa occur. I will go back, just not to this store. Oh, and I love the cooklies too.
