I'm visiting from California, and honestly, the hospitality here blew me away. I've been to my fair share of Cracker Barrels, and usually, the chicken can be a bit on the dry side, but not here. This was easily the best Southern fried chicken I've ever had. We visited over the weekend and tried their special: a honey-drizzled version served over biscuits that was absolutely incredible. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. Our server, Cici, was the sweetest, most attentive, and genuinely friendly person. She made us feel right at home from the moment we sat down. We were so impressed that we made sure to find the manager, Janie, to let her know. Even though it was only Janie's second day, she was doing a fantastic job; walking the floor, greeting everyone, and making sure every guest felt welcome. The only small hiccup was the apple butter; it was offered to us, but we weren't aware there was an extra charge for it until the bill arrived. A little heads-up there would have been nice, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. If you're looking for that genuine, warm hospitality you'd expect from a place like this, this location delivers. The manager when I spoke to her this evening was polite when I asked why after three weeks I can not order through Door Dash (nor on GrubHub) and she said "we have a new system and we are working with corporate office to fix this." I consistently get an error at checkout that states: "Error in Validating your Order." I guess after ordering over 20 times on 9 years from Cracker Barrel, they no longer want Fishers' residents business via Door Dash nor Grub Hub. Sad. My husband and I got two gift cards to Cracker Barrel. This isn't somewhere we usually go but we were definitely pleasantly surprised. We got the cinnamon roll skillet, country fried steak, and strawberry cheesecake pancakes. We both got water and I did think their water was really good. The cinnamon roll skillet was divine we only wished it came with more icing! My husband said the country fried steak was good but it could've been more tender and had more flavor. I was worried that getting the cheesecake pancakes and the cinnamon roll would be too sweet. Thankfully the pancakes were the perfect level of sweetness. Highly recommend getting the biscuits over the corn bread with your meal since the corn bread is very dry and doesn't have much flavor. They have the best pancakes and syrup. Service wasn't as great this time since our server didn't bring out biscuits or corn bread until we asked. She also didn't ask if one of us wanted gravy with our mashed potatoes. We got a table quickly. Then we ordered. My husband was disappointed because there had been a major change to the menu. Everything he enjoyed were no longer there. He ended up with chicken tenders. I ordered the chicken and dumplings, fried okra and green beans. Nothing had any seasoning. Everything was so bland. There was hardly any taste in anything. Me and my wife were visiting the area and this location was by our hotel and we had never been to breakfast at Cracker Barrel so we decided to go then. First off, great prices considering the amount of food given, secondly, Cracker Barrel hospitality is always top notch, we had just gone to Cheesecake Factory for dinner the prior night and had such a bad experience, long wait for food, they brought out the wrong order, and half of it was missing. Coming off of that experience, getting delicious food and great service was a breath of fresh air. My pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever had. My wife said her blueberry pancakes were delicious. Even before we finished our food our waitress gave us our check and we were in and out in 25 minutes. Portion sizes were generous--we ended up taking quite a bit home. There was a lot to like about our meal. The steak and shrimp were flavorful, and both the chicken strips and chicken fried chicken were tasty and plentiful. The mashed potatoes with gravy were flavorful but very dense. The baked apples were a nice touch, and the house salad was actually my favorite part--it was that good! Some sides, like the corn, green beans, and cornbread, lacked flavor. It's been years since we had CB, and we wanted breakfast for lunch, so we went on a whim. 40-minute wait at 1pm on Sunday, which feels average for them. We wandered the shop with 100 other people and tried not to be in each other's way; it was too cold to hang out in the rockers. Our waitress was very sweet and made sure we had coffee refills. But the food, the food was bad. Hashbrowns with so much oil it poured off the plate, undercooked eggs, overcooked sausage (crunch is never good with sausage), the new hashbrown shepherd's pie was 80% cheese. Me and my mom LOVE Cracker Barrel. So did my grandmother, bless her soul. I love their little store especially, see all their lil Nick nacks and this time around they have the cutest Halloween decor. We came after seeing the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie while the men went out of state, so it was just the two of us which was perfect. Our server was Susan and she was SO sweet ugh perfect service haha We, when I saw we I mean my whole family Literally, get country fried stake. Whether it's Cracker Barrel or Bob Evan's. My husband and I ate here tonight, and I loved the remodel. Looking online, it seems quite controversial about if people like the idea or what they are doing, but I thought they did a great job on the Fishers store. I am quite a nostalgic person, so I get it, but sometimes things need freshened up. Yes, it does look a little like they Chip and Joanna-ed Cracker Barrel, but it is lighter, brighter and not terrible to put lattice in the past. Can you imagine trying to clean and dust that!? They added booths to the seating and the new chairs were reminiscent of the old with cleaner lines. The fireplace was still burning. Overall, just a great job. I heard they were doing significant menu changes as well, but it seemed pretty close to the old to me. Our food was good and our server was amazing. Not much to say about being served what you expect to get at Cracker Barrel. I guess this review is mostly to give kudos to what certainly was not an inexpensive update. read more

This place has really gone down hill. The last few visits with my family were extremely unpleasant from staff and lack of menu options. The quality has also been very poor shells found in eggs and items burnt so bad that you might need a dentist if you eat it. Soup plated together with Mac and cheese at my last visit at this location. Menu item was gone from my last visit which was less than a month ago. Very disappointed with the way our server was speaking to us and acting. I won't be back at least not at this location. read more

The food they served my wife was totally unacceptable (undercooked chicken when she cut into it) and then had the audacity to deny it, before it was taken away. She had no dinner after the confrontation with the server, and then the manager (who took it off her bill only after arguing with her how it was tempted out before leaving the kitchen). The server had the audacity of taking a picture of a pink area of the chicken with his phone, claiming it was the fat of the chicken that was pink in color and not the actual chicken. It baffles me still the extremes the servers can take photos of an issue with undercooked food, and claiming "no big deal, it was just the fat of the chicken that was pink...WTH!" I am not a Karen, I swear. I've never written a bad review. I'm 19 years old and I went to dinner with my partner, and our waitress, Kaylee, was a mess. At first, she forgot to bring us our waters and kept laughing and already started cussing, "I've worked my a** off all day," etc. I could already tell something was off, the way she was slurring her words. The next time she came, she said, "you guys seem chill, so I'm gonna be honest, I got f****** up on my break just now." She went on and on to talk about how high she was, then she leaned over to me, looked me up and down, and continued to make very inappropriate gestures and comments about my body. Worst of all - when we tried to leave, she didn't even give us the right ticket. I didn't feel comfortable enough to confront her again, so I went straight to the manager. It's hard to imagine that there's anyone who doesn't know about Cracker Barrel, a Tennessee-based national chain with 664 locations in 45 states. In case it's not obvious from the name, Cracker Barrel emphasizes country-style home cooking and that snagged its name from the barrels that crackers would come in for old-school highway roadside restaurants. All Cracker Barrel locations are company owned restaurants - they don't franchise. Of course, one of the unique features of Cracker Barrel is their "Old Country Store," a store inside their restaurant where you can find a ridiculous amount of items ranging from actual Cracker Barrel foods to clothing to music to good old-fashioned Americana kitsch. A friend and I carried on our tradition of sharing a Thanksgiving meal, at least during those years when I don't get guilted into the dysfunctional family scene, and after some discussion decided on Cracker Barrel. While there is a location closer to my home, we opted to head up into Hamilton County and visit this spot right at 96th and I-69. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, it was apparent that we weren't the only ones who had the same idea. Cracker Barrel was packed. In fact, all the accessible parking spots were taken when I arrived and I ended up finding a decent spot in the back of the restaurant where they were set up doing their carry-out meals. I wheeled in and the host station is right near the front door and in front of the country store section. A friendly hostess let me know it would likely be a 70-minute wait. This was at 3pm. So, yeah. It was busy. I'd actually arrived about 15 minutes early and figured I might as well sign in. My friend arrived about 15 minutes later and we decided to hang in there. We toured the country store. It has some fun stuff. Prices vary from surprisingly affordable to "Who would pay that for that?" Our 70-minute wait actually was a bit over 90 minutes. Fortunately, both staff and customers seemed to be in good spirits and the long wait was made more pleasurable by generally friendly people. They took your name and phone number. Once a table was ready, they both called you and texted that a table was ready. It's an effective system, though given the busyness of the day even one your table was ready it took a few more minutes to actually get to it. On this particular day, Thanksgiving, they had a limited menu including the obligatory turkey dinner option. I was interested in the turkey, though some of the side options weren't appealing. I'd been craving meatloaf lately and since that was an option I went for meatloaf with two sides - carrots and steak fries. I ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. You also get 2 biscuits or muffins. I chose biscuits (You are allowed to mix-n-match). Service by Shaine was friendly and efficient. Drinks were topped off a couple of times and she was generally attentive. I will say our food was definitely not hot upon arrival - it was more like warm. As a party that arrived after us got their meals first, my gut feeling is that ours likely sat there for 3-5 minutes or so - just enough that it wasn't hot. It wasn't bad by any means. We certainly weren't going to complain and we were super starved. Trust me - I ate everything. Everything I had was good. The meatloaf was delicious even warm. The steak fries were probably the worst - they're just not meant to be served warm. The carrots were good, as well. I also enjoyed the biscuits and they, for some reason, were actually closer to hot. My friend had a piece of pumpkin pie and also enjoyed it. We tried to use their app to pay our bill, however, neither my friend nor I could figure it out. Thus, we paid on the way out. That scene was just a tad disorganized, however, it didn't take long and I was on my way. This was probably closer to a 3.5 experience, however, due to the busyness and holiday factors I'm opting for a 4-star rating. Would I have waited 90 minutes under ordinary circumstances? Oh heck no. However, on my first holiday since my mother's passing it was a nice place to get together with a friend and to just be around people rather than isolating. Geocachers will note that there's a geocache in this parking lot. In fact, most Cracker Barrel locations host geocaches. While the place was packed, spacing was decent and the acoustics and background noise still allowed for conversations. So, I was able to enjoy good company, good food, pretty good service, and a nice meal at a fair price in a restaurant chain that cares about accessibility (they also have Braille and large print menus). Walked in and we were seated immediately; no waiting! Then, we waited; and waited; and waited and waited some more. We saw several waitresses come out of the kitchen, look around and then disappear back into the kitchen. We finally went to the host station and they seemed confused over how that happened. Haven't been here for awhile. I forgot how good their food was!! We went in around 11:45am on Friday and the wait was still 20 minutes out. Unless you are going there very early morning, you have to give yourself enough time to wait for a table since reservation is not available. Food came out pretty quick and served warm. When I felt invisible and no one was taking my order (for 20 mins, while others who were seated later had theirs taken near-immediately)......RICO, the best waiter in the world, noticed that I hadn't had my order taken and helped me -even though I'm pretty sure I wasn't in his section-. He was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I think his duties were table cleaning, so he didn't have a tray, but that didn't stop him from carrying my burning hot plate out to me from the kitchen by hand. And then I went to go wash my hands; when I came back I found that he'd put a napkin over my food so it didn't get too cold. So kind, he was always thinking of how I was doing. If I had the money to tip him 100 I would've. He's awesome. And as always, Crackerbarrel's ambiance was warm and cozy especially with that fire going on the rainy night I stopped in. We had lunch here earlier today and it wasn't the best experience. I was so excited when the Sunday chicken became every day but since they started serving it all the time they don't cook it to order anymore and it's greasy and dried out. I was also excited when they added fried chicken to the menu but disappointed that you can't pick white or dark meat so for me that makes it not worth ordering when I'm going to waste the two pieces that are dark meat. Since I'm on a roll here I also wish they would bring back the aged ribeyes those were the best. The music today was extremely loud which was surprising because it's not usually that loud. Many won't remember these because they weren't heavily advertised but since they now are trying to do appetizers I wish they'd bring back the cheese plates with the pickles and mustard. Those cheese triangles were delicious they also used to put them on the large salads which they no longer do. read more

I chose Cracker Barrel for a nice family brunch on a chilly Sunday morning. This location is very popular with the church crowd, so be sure to plan ahead to avoid the crowds. Our server was very friendly and thorough. Refills on drinks were a little slow, but considering we were there during a huge post-church rush it was not unexpected. Our food was prompt and fresh and my three kids never had a chance to get squirrelly. The portions of the kids meals were huge, probably large enough to satisfy most adults. I will include some photos. My meal was fresh a delicious with no mess-ups and nothing missing or forgotten by the staff. Service continued to be attentive, and I even got a few piece of cake for my upcoming birthday. All in all a very pleasant experience. ***DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!*** My girlfriend her children and I decided, against better judgement to dine in at this "Establishment" on Friday October 4th for dinner. After choosing our meals and placing the orders the children and I decided to look for items in the lobby. After choosing items for my daughter which consisted of a Hello Kitty mug and doll and a mini drone I was ushered to the counter by the employee and this is where the problems began. My cashier, Kiana, rang up my items with out ever looking at me or providing the price. The cost of my items totaled $51.52, but I was only informed of the price from the electronic device in front of me. Once the items were rung up, Kiana quickly threw away a receipt, struggled to make change, pulled out her phone to calculate the change which was $.48, and then provided a receipt that had no money information only a bar code. When I asked Kiana about the receipt she stated that there wasn't anything she could do about providing me the proper receipt and this receipt could be used if I was to return the items. I asked about the one she threw away and she stated that it wasn't for my transaction, which would mean she didn't provide the proper receipt to the customer before me. I then asked if there was someone who could assist and she stated there wasn't. As I stood there perplexed to say the least, I asked if there was a manager available that could assist and she stated clear as day that there wasn't a manager available. I then asked "So there isn't a manager available for this establishment in this establishment!?" With the most puzzled look on my face and she then attempted to call over 2 other employees to which NEITHER were the manager on duty. Kiana then stated there was a back of the house manager and called for him once I requested. In comes Lou who states that he'll get the requested receipt and I advise him of the situation and where I'm sitting so I can receive the proper receipt. Awhile later while sitting and eating my meal Lou comes back with said receipt and offers an apology. I accept the receipt and apology and advise the cashier who came with him that I took own a business and looking at your customer and providing them with the cost of items is a good thing to do. Cashier Kiana AND Lou were receptive to this. Kiana even came back, advised me not to tip and that she had reversed money back to my card. I had to advise her that I paid cash!!! At this point all problems are solved, or so it seemed. We continue to enjoy our meal and upon getting the check for our meal I look to the receipt for the aforementioned purchased items. The receipt stated that cash back was to be $6.02, not $.48. I discuss with my girlfriend if I was looking at this right and she stated that Kiana did advise that a discount was applied when she returned to the table and there was no way we weren't going to tip our waitress! So as we were heading to the front to settle our tab I see Lou and ask him if there was some kind of mix-up as I only received $.48. Lou stated "Well you should've received $6.02, and I follow him to the counter. This is where it goes COMPLETELY wrong!!! Lou pulls $12 from the register and hands it to me. I inform him that he gave me $12 and he states, "No I gave you $7 a 5 and two ones." I showed Lou the bills and state "You gave me two fives and two ones!" And Lou then attempted to snatch the money out of my hand not once, but twice! After 2 unsuccessful attempts at snatching the money Lou begins to get loud and is visibly upset. Lou, the so called manager, began over talking me and repeatedly asking what I wanted him to do. Now, I am a 6ft 8 Black man in Cracker Barrel talking to a man much smaller than myself asking him to calm down and relax. As I am attempting to tell him that I only want what I am owed he continues to over talk me and present himself in a manner that is hostile and unprofessional to say the VERY least! At this point I'm frustrated with the whole incident and tell him I simply want all my money back for the items I purchased. My girlfriend was dealing with one of her kids who was having a stomach ache from his meal then arrives by my side. Lou was stilI then ask him why he's treating me in such a manner and if it's because I am a large Black man asking for clarity! Lou attempted to "act", because it definitely was an act and a bad one, upset by this statement. At this point I want nothing more to do with Lou, Kiana or Cracker Barrel as a whole and tell him that he can comp our meal and we won't be back!! As my girlfriend hands him out bill he snatches it from her hands forcefully gives back the cash that was with the bill and proceeds to make snide comments as we attempt to leave the establishment. If there was an issue with the receipt or being paid what was owed or even having basic decency Lou was NOT the person worth dealing with to get it resolved!!! ***DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE*** read more
