We ordered Saturday lunch from Chicken Salad Chick order for 10 people. I arrived and headed straight to the call in online orders side. I have been standing in line for 10 mins no one has acknowledge me being here. When I arrived I noticed the expos employees bagging my order but still did not come over to greet or ask if it was even my order. One lady bagging the other made eye contact several times and still did not come over to speak. One person started bagging up the orders and placed it on the floor. I asked a cashier if she could pick the food off of the ground with that not being sanitary. This will probably be my last time ordering Saturday lunch for my staff from chicken salad chick for a while. The food is good I did not appreciate the lack of customer service. I love me some Chicken Salad Chick! This was my first time visiting this particular location but my experience was just as pleasant. It was during a weekday lunchtime so needless to say the place was packed out. Took about 10 mins to reach the counter to place my order. Typically I go with one of the spicy options and get it as a sandwich on a croissant and today was no different. However, since the last time I'd visited the Homewood location, I'd never seen the flavor "Kickin' Kay Lynne". Of course I'm intrigued by the description of: Buffalo sauce, ranch, bacon, shredded cheddar, jalapenos and sriracha. Ummm... YES PLEASE!!! Easily my new favorite flavor. Just remember, if you're not quite that adventurous with flavors, it's quite alright... there's a little bit of something for everybody and they'll let you try as many samples as you want... literally, so take your time! Yes, yes, I know...this is the big fad place to go right now, but, by golly, I love it!! I'm pretty excited that there is one open in Hoover now, though my pocketbook might suffer. That's not to say that it's extravagantly expensive, but I kind of default to this place when I need a lunchtime decision. Honestly, I am not really a fan of fruit in my chicken salad AS A GENERAL RULE, but CSC has brought me back around...honestly, I can't think of one flavor that I DON't love. and they have a lot! Staff is super friendly...which is to be expected during a grand opening period, but even at the downtown location they are super nice and very helpful. They let you sample flavors, have pre-made pounds to go and give a free cookie with your to-go order! Not the first unpleasant experience here. In the past, they had overly-loud employees screaming non-sense across the store. I put in an order and waited 18 mins just to hear they hadn't even made my order. *not the first time* Trey (the manager) doesn't seem to do anything more than hide in the back and let these crazy teenage girls mess everyone's order up. I will definitely be contacting Johnathan (the general manager) on Monday morning when he is back. I'm not usually like this, but my time is my money, and when I just waste 20 mins just to hear they have completed everyone's order after me because they know them. Go to Zoe's kitchen or Newks! Everything about my experience was just okay. I had cartledge in my Buffalo Barclay, but that isn't even my biggest complaint about this flavor. It's quite frankly bland. Nothing should be bland with Buffalo sauce, but this was just a mushy blend of mayo, Buffalo, and chicken. The saving grace was the crispness of the lettuce it was served on. The Sassy Scotty was good. The bacon in it added the texture the Buffalo was missing. However, the grape salad was great! It's a little on the sweet side, but scrumptious. My favorite is the cranberry kelly, and I also enjoy the dillicious diva summer special chicken salad that has lots of fresh dill when they have it. We usually go here about once a week to satisfy our cravings. Heard about this place last night from a co-worker and decided to try it out. There were only a few people in line so waiting wasn't an issue. However, there were several ladies behind the counter and NO ONE spoke to those of us waiting to be serviced. Everyone seemed to be looking at someone else to step forward and do the job. Finally after what seemed to be about 10 minutes, one of the ladies (manager I guess) says "I'm wondering where all all of my cashiers went. We'll be with y'all shortly." As if on cue, someone appears from the crowd without saying a word, a greeting or anything, and begins taking orders. After noticing all of this I decide to dart to the restroom to give them a chance to get it together and determine if I'm actually going to leave. Okay I woman up and get back in line, wait my turn and ask for help since it's my first time here. The cashier is not helpful until I say, "you'll have to bear with me. I know nothing of this place. Only heard about it." Then she smiles and tells me I can sample my flavor in question. She then guides me through the menu informing me of my options and I settle on the buffalo chicken salad sandwich on toasted wheat bread with a side of grape salad. (My tummy thanked me later). The food here is delish!!! I was surprised that chicken salad could be so darn good... And grapes as a salad too! However, I can't say I'll return to this location. The tension between the staff was so obvious that it made the customers either take notice or uncomfortable. As a person who works in customer service, it was a lot of both. The biggest take away I got was that NO ONE seemed to enjoy their job. No one smiled, they all looked unhappy, grumpy, mad with each other, short, impatient, all of it. Came here on customer appreciation day last week. They were giving out free scoops of chicken salad! I had always wanted to try it, but never really had the urge to go. The free scoop definitely got my attention and foot in the door. It was just the original batch they had, but it was really good. I also asked them at the counter to try one of the Buffalo flavors they had and I really enjoyed it. This particular location was a disappointment. First, we were charged $7.99 + $1.00 for a small scoop of chicken salad and a side salad. The chicken salad is always good, but I don't understand the price that includes such a small quantity. When our food was brought they insisted we had ordered a spinach seasonal salad that has apples, cheese and bacon on it (not what we ordered). The chopped apples were brown which obviously meant they were prepped hours before. After informing the employee that we didn't order the spinach salad they then brought the side garden salads we originally ordered that has three tomatoes and a few small chopped cucumbers on top of romaine. As we dug into our salads we noticed that about 1/3 of the lettuce was wilted and inedible. I recently visited chicken salad chick and had an exceptional experience! I had the egg salad sandwich on wheat and jalapeño kettle chips. The sandwich also came with a delicious sugar cookie and a pickle. The egg salad was a standard egg salad recipe and was tasty. The service was great! The employees were all extraordinarily polite and were adhering to the COVID guidelines by wearing face masks. The tables are also socially distanced and the establishment is kept quite clean. Ok so this could be the busiest place in Hoover! Wow. Went in today to grab some prepackaged chicken salad for my wife to take to school tomorrow. The place was absolutely slammed and the formerly nearly vacant parking lot near Best Buy now has extremely few spaces available. If you like Chicken Salad this is your place. There is a variety for even the most discerning chicken salad aficionado. Not so much if you're not into chicken salad. The staff is friendly. The interior was clean. There was a large variety of prepackaged containers available for purchase. The product isn't cheap. 3 large containers of varied chicken salad, one small one for my son and a large spicy pimento cheese ran me $50.00. Is it worth it?? debatable. Will it be worth it to make the day of my wife and her fellow 2nd grade teachers tomorrow absolutely. My wife like a lot of women love this place and so the sticker price hurt my feelings but I'll get over it. The large containers appear to have a large volume of product but they don't come with anything. They only serve individual packets of wheat crackers as the sole dipping vessel. Do not count on this restaurant for proper catering service. I love their food but was let down too many times with their catering service. Orders were placed online and confirmations received and twice my orders were "lost" resulting in delayed lunches for meetings. In one of the instances, I had to have someone run out to a fast food place to pick up lunch since Chicken Salad Chick couldn't deliver our order and we were already an hour past the scheduled delivery time. Each time this occurred I was tossed around between their catering manager and the store manager, each just blaming each other instead of properly handling the situation. I was assured after the second occurrence I would receive follow up calls to "make it right". I never received any follow up communication. I have run into catering mistakes with other restaurants, but they have always been addressed appropriately and the service issue corrected. It's too bad Chicken Salad Chick's customer and catering services do not match their food quality. read more

This one according to employees has a test menu, but does not have my favorite flavor. The employees were not knowledgeable about the menu they did have nor did they have a clue about credit rewards points. My order was totally incorrect with no offer to correct it either. This is my closest location, and I was so excited about the opening only to be super disappointed. I went here for lunch during a conference that was held nearby. I had visited CSC in my hometown and was not disappointed with this location. Even though they were extremely busy at lunch, the line moved quickly and my food was ready before I was even done making my drink. I ordered Sassy Scotty on a croissant with grape salad. It literally took 4 tries to order, then after I paid and sat they came and told me they were out of that too. Even messed up my refund.
