I've known about this place for years now, but never had the desire to come through. Not really sure why. And then one day, I found myself at the laundromat a few feet away. While waiting for my stuff to dry, I called Hubbers to ask if he wanted grub from any of the many eateries in this plaza. He mentioned a chorizo breakfast burrito from here. That sounded really good, so I decided I wanted one as well. Came through close to noon on a Sunday. They had a few patrons eating in as well as others waiting for takeout. I put in my order for two burritos "one easy on the beans." While waiting, I packed up some sauces to bring home. It wasn't long before I was headed home. I was pleasantly surprised to find these wrapped goodies were bigger than I expected! I knew off the bat want be able to finish it. I most especially liked that they labeled mine so there was zero struggle trying to figure out whose is what. Lots of rice. Plenty of eggs. Pretty light on the beans as I requested, but I wish the chorizo flavor would come out more. Don't get me wrong - it is there, but easily out powered by the rice and beans (yes, still.) Otherwise, not too bad. FOOD: 3. SERVICE: 4. Love that they labeled mine properly! :) VALUE: 3. $30 and change for two burritos sounds steep, but each yielded a second meal. More toward quantity vs quality. PARKING: Private lot shared with others. Not an isise OVERALL: 3.25. As expected, I was only able to get through half of it. I get it, that we placed our to go order at the end of the day during the last hour of business. We specifically ordered the taquito combo because we wanted to have rice and beans. We requested no lettuce and no guacamole and they totally accommodated that. But then when we got the order, there were no rice and beans. We also ordered a side of chips and guacamole, and got a good portion of chips, and the guacamole was delicious. For my entrée, I had a shrimp burrito and it was delicious until 3/4 of the way down. I happened to take a bite and it revealed a shrimp with so much in its poop shoot and at the same time that I saw that, i felt sand between my molars. I threw away the rest of the burrito away I just couldn't. It's a bummer to me, we have always loved Chile Verde as a family, but it stinks that there is so much of a difference in the different locations. I ordered direct from the their website today 5/24/25 and part of my order was incorrect. Once I opened each bag & plate I realized I was missing a taco and the enchilada I ordered (shredded beef ) was made with ground beef. I called at approximately 6:15pm to get a refund for the incorrect plate and missing item. I spoke with someone named Jose who told me he was the manager. Originally he denied my order being incorrect because "he was the one who made it." After I insisted that it was incorrect he offered me a store credit and stated he could not do a refund. I get it, we all make mistakes but basically telling your customer they are lying is highly distasteful. Although, the food is usually good & service is usually up to par. I'm disappointed with this particular order/interaction. I asked Jose for some form of proof for my store credit and he said he could not email me or anything that it would "just be here in a note." Hopefully this will serve as proof since I was unable to obtain that from Jose. I will update with once this situation has been rectified. read more

This review is based on their catering. We ordered 3 platters. Steak, chicken and shrimp or should I say onions, onions and onions? Each platter hardly had any protein in them and all of us struggled to find any to fill our tortillas. The platters with the rice and beans were nicely filled, if only we had some protein to complement that with. I appreciate them trying to save the animals but when you're expecting some meat to serve to your guests only to be given a garden of onions, it isn't a good feeling read more

I go here about twice a week, however I find myself going to the one in Torrance more often even though the one on Manhattan is closer - they have great food but I have found cheese not melted lately and whenever I order door dash I never get the chips or salsa that come with the combo. I was very very disappointed in my chunky beef burrito... With my first bite I bet into a chewy piece of meat or a piece of whatever look like it had a nice thick piece of fat around it. I couldn't even chew or swallow it. What shall I do with? I end up, spitting it into my napkin... The only best part about my meal was the chips and soda... I ordered beef and it did not look like beef. Normally, when I order my burrito when I bite into the beef, it becomes stringy it's brown looking like beef... I did not complain due to the fact I was running short on time with my coworkers and I didn't wanna cause any problems... I do not recommend this particular location. I normally go to Inglewood and or Hawthorn on 120th street. I will say the staff were nice and they brought that horrible burrito to my table... Review is for taco Tuesday only . I've had a few other items on their menu a long time ago and they were okay but I've got other places I like more so let me focus on the tacos here. $1.99 for a chicken or ground beef taco on Tuesdays. Shell is nice and crispy and taco is filled with a generous amount of meat, lettuce, tomato cubes, and cheese. The chicken is just plain roast chicken so you will definitely need to use salsa. They will offer you a choice of mild, medium, or hot pre-packaged in plastic cups since the salsa bar is impossible with Covid. The tacos are a good size so 2 would be a meal for most people, 3 if you're really hungry. Parking lot is pretty big but gets a bit crowded after 5 PM. Fortunately, not as crowded as pre-covid since people can't dine in at the many restaurants located here. A decent choice on a taco Tuesday in this part of town. read more

I work in Torrance and recently decided to stop by this place but was skeptical from the outer view, I was hungry so I decided to try it to satisfy my curiosity. I looked over the menu before being greeted by the friendly waitress, I then proceeded to order a carne asada burrito with no rice and requested it to go. I received my order swiftly and grabbed some salsas to add to my burrito and left. When I got to work and unwrapped my $13+ burrito, it turned out to be an expensive bean burrito instead with a sprinkle of meat. Don't get me wrong, the beans were tasty but I was expecting a meat burrito not a bean burrito, then they have 3 different types of salsas but the salsas didn't help either. My boss at work has been having an appetite for Mexican food and he tried this place out after he got a coupon in the mail for it. He took us all there for lunch one day and it's such a clean place with good amount of seating! This plaza has a lot of food places, so parking might be a challenge, but you can usually find one somewhere. Probably not right up front, but hey, it's good to do a bit of exercise for a few minutes before you indulge in all of the great food here. I'm a fan of places that serve chimichangas so I went ahead and ordered that. Chimichanga tasted great and it came with pico de gallo and chips on the side. I was impressed with the taste of the chips. I'm not expert in great tasting traditional chips, but for the amount of salt that WASN'T on there, it was pretty good. I would have been okay just snacking on chips haha. Definitely a great value and worth coming here even though some people may prefer Chipotle down the street. read more

I went last night for taco Tuesday which I am a regular for taco Tuesday there because they have tacos for $2.00. I order tacos and chips to go. I waited and waited and saw people that order led after me in line get there food. Here I was still waiting so I walk up to the counter and spoke to the women that took my order. I said, " I think I was forgot about"? The women that worked there took my recipient and starting asking the cooks in the back what happened. This is now 20 minutes in and still no dinner. So they go back and forth and there was another women working there that found my order. It was on the bottom shelf like it was a phone order..... I tell both ladies my food is I'm sure cold they said '" no I just watch her out it there they are warm"? How can you possibly see that my food ended up there if nobody knew where my order was? I said, " I'm sure it's cold plus I'm drive home still so I'm sure they are cold". I didn't get I'm so sorry you have been waiting this long nothing they just kept telling my food is warm. I get home and there is no cheese on my taco that I asked for and my ground beef tacos were FREEZING COLD plus it didn't even look like the shell was cooked. So gross.
