Horrible! I ordered 2 meals - because there are 2 people. One of the meals was not available so they made the decision to cancel that meal but fill the other order. They did not give me an option to replace the meal or cancel the entire order. So then I am left paying for 1/2 the order and then still having to figure out what my guest was going to eat. I called - their answer was that they did their jon by canceling the one meal and refunded. It did not even cross their mind that maybe 2 meals were ordered because 2 people wanted to eat and then they were rude when I called. And the meal I did recieve - disgusting. The sandwhich was nothing but grease and salad dressing. When I picked it up, it spilled all over because of all the grease and dressing breaking down the bread. I had a pill of sandwhich parts that I could pick through with a fork. And the fries and tots were luke warm at best and tasted like they were freezer burned. read more

This was not a good experience. So many things went wrong. I ordered my takeout meal no onion, it came with onions. I order beef, it was chicken. The mac salad was terrible and was crying for salt and more flavor. It was the blandest mac I have ever head. The french fries were over cooked nearly burnt. First timer at this spot, as I had a $50 gift card to use up. We ordered quite a bit of food on a Saturday night around 5pm but everything was ready to go in 15 mins. My sister and I ordered the Mediterranean salad with chicken and Buffalo chicken finger salad. Both were very good and filling but my ONLY complaint was that they used iceberg lettuce instead of romaine. They would have been so much more satisfying if they opted for the nicer lettuce. The chicken on the Mediterranean salad was super flavorful and juicy, we both loved it. We also ordered a side of fries and Mac salad. Fries were perfectly crispy and Mac salad had tons of flavor but needed a little more mayo. The girl at the counter was very friendly too. Tried their fish fry and was impressed. Great size fish, excellent breading, fried perfectly. The fish was a 10/10, didnt love the sides but they weren't bad. I thought their mac salad was lacking flavor. The beans were good. Home fries were decent, nothing exceptional and onion rings were tasty but you didn't get very many. You get two sides with the fish fry dinner, they were normal size sides except for the onion rings which were also a 75 cents up charge. Would definitely get this fish fry again read more

I have had a few garbage plates around the city and this is definitely one of the better ones. Meats were all cooked well, the meat sauce was solid, and the order was put together fairly quickly. Their standard plate comes with home fries instead of french fries, which I thought was odd. They were not great either, so I would suggest their tots or fries instead. Mac salad was also kind of watery and bland. With that said, it was still a solid plate and worth it if you are craving one without having to go into the city from Churchville/Chili area. read more

In all seriousness, this is yet another Rochester-area "Garbage Plate" spot, which also has red hots and white hots (different types of hot dogs) made by Zwiegle's (the most popular local Rochester dog-maker. Woof). Open extremely late, just like my mother. I skip the Garbage Plates these days (way too unhealthy), but if you're grabbing Black Raspberry Ice Cream across the street (from the 24-hour Byrne Dairy), and you fancy a dog, come over here for a White Hot. Trying to get a Fish Fry and every place was out of fish or closed. Chili Hots had it and the fish was very good. It came with two sides as well as the typical lemon and tartar sauce. I got the hash browns and onion rings. Hash browns were good and the onion rings also tasted good but wish I had gotten more. Especially with it being a small upcharge. On my second visit I got a cheeseburger plate. Tator tots and Mac salad. The tots were cooked crispy like I asked. The Mac salad was really good fresh and plentiful. The only trouble I have is I like my Burgers med rare and requested them that way but there always well done. Too done for my liking. I always ask for extra heavy meat hot sauce. Very underwhelmed by the Cheeseburger Plate I got from here. The hot sauce was scarce (but extremely spicy; too spicy). I have been driving past this place for two years now, but never stopped in. I'm glad I finally did! I'm on my way to California, so I figured this was my last chance. I've always been a fan of Dogtown, and I wish I had known this place is just as good, because it's a lot closer to where I live! I ordered a half plate with fries (no Mac salad for me), white hot, meat sauce, and cooked onions. When I originally asked about onions, I was told they were raw, but the man working told me they could cook them for me if I preferred. How nice! I got the cooked onions & they were delicious. The perfect addition to the plate. I didn't ask when I was there, but I added cheese to mine at home (I'm sure they would have done it for me). It was incredibly filling & par for the course in terms of price. I would go again if I'm ever back in the area! The staff was friendly & efficient, can't complain! Home fires taste like they haven't changed their oil in ages, burgers are small, hot sauce is worst in Rochester, tastes like hot dogs and they don't use enough unless you pay for extra...which it is not worth. Been here a number of times and while I haven't tried more than a few things on their menu (I tend to just stick with my favorites) the things I have tried are pretty good... about average for this type of place. My only complaint so far on the quality of the food is that their mac-salad is a bit bland. Their prices are pretty decent and they have a number of different specials throughout the week. They tend to be a bit slow if there are more than a couple in there at a time and I've only ever seen one person working in the back at any given time... so obviously if one person is doing all or the majority of the kitchen work then you should expect to have to wait a bit longer if there a more than a few customers there. If you are ordering your food to go, I would recommend checking your order when you get it before you leave. We have gotten our order to go on three different occasions and all three times we got home to find that they had messed up the order (leaving things out, giving us the wrong stuff, etc.). If you're staying there and eating then sometimes it can be a bit loud... though this is usually the fault of rude obnoxious customers who feel the need to use their "outside voice" to have a conversation with the person sitting right next to them. Part of the noise also comes from the fact that they will sometimes leave the door open so your stuck listening to the stereo of every jerk that drives by or is waiting for the traffic light near the plaza with their car stereo blasted... often times you're stuck listening to that even if they do close the door. So if you're looking for someplace to have a reasonable amount of peace and quiet while you eat your meal, this is unfortunately not the place to go. read more
