Humiliated, hungry, and hit on: An authentic Chili's experience. Currently writing this in between dry heaves. This restaurant is a joke! The server hit on me many times, despite me being uncomfortable. Both my burger and my girlfriend's steak were wrong. Her steak was way over cooked and mine had pickles (which make me ill, which I mentioned to the server.) When I sent back my burger, I was served a charcoal briquette. It made me sick eating it but I didn't want the kitchen to resort to outright violence. My girlfriend's drink was also nearly non-alcoholic according to her. And that experience cost us $30. Try eating the $30 instead of this place. Awful awful awful! Update: the next day I woke up confused and was half conscious until I passed the meal, much unchanged. What in the world???? My family has gone to this restaurant/location for years and it seems the food has gone downhill ever since March. Every recent time we have dined in the food has been overcooked and under seasoned. Chili's used to be our go to restaurant for family dinners but, we have decided to explore other options. It's like they stopped seasoning their food? This isn't a chef issue because the last 5-10 times we have gone the food has been like this. My dad actually compared his chicken fajitas (which used to be superb) to "boiled chicken you would give a dog." Went to dinner last night with my friend. It started at the front door. Asked the hostess if we could have the table behind her and she said NO! I am seating you elsewhere. So she put us by the kitchen. We dealt with the swinging door and the noise of the kitchen. We sat in the booth and picked up the menus to find them dirty and a chunk of eaten candy that fell off the dirty menu.. and then the server came over. We showed her the candy and the menus and her attitude came out, along with her constantly wiping her nose and touching her mouth. She has a cold or something. Her nose was running and she kept sniffing the running nose back and wiping with her hand. It was disgusting and disturbing. WHY WAS SHE THERE WORKING! With covid and the flu explain why didn't they sent her home. She was nasty when we asked to leave some items off what we ordered. We watched her drop knives and then used them and the forks she kept grabbing with her dirty hands she kept touching her nose, with and make the bags that they give you with the utensils and straws. The food was great, the service was the worst! I told her I had a to go and she snapped at me. I then told her what I needed to go. She took the order and then shoved her orderpad in front if me and said here is this right. I don't want to deal with you if its wrong. Order came out and we asked for separate checks she didnt give us a chance and yelled use the machine. We said we are paying cash and she yelled use the machine. At this point I was done and raised my voice WE ARE PAYING CASH. She walked away and said to another waitress and I quote "WHAT A GREAT TABLE THIS ONE IS! " saying it sarcastic. She returns with two checks and throws them on the table and walks away. She finally came back and took the money and came back a while later. We both should have received coins as part of our change. Nope the waitress decided to round up our bills. At this point we were done with her attitude. On the way out we asked the hostess for the manager. When he came up front we asked him to step outside so not to cause a scene inside. He kept apologizing but we knew he will do nothing!! I told him the board of health should see the dirt . I told him I have photos. We won't be going back for sure Another thing, the floor was so gross. My feet kept sticking to it. The workstation had the table cleaner bucket right next to the to-go containers, napkins and the forks. The knives fell and we were laying down on the counter. What a mess! Look at the photos and see the dirty tray stands Totally disgusting. They should close and spend a few days cleaning the place-and that waitress needs to go!!! Chili's has always been one of my favorite casual dining chains going all the way back to my NJ days. Recently, they have upped their game by offering very reasonable combo dinners that include a starter and sometimes a beverage. Chili's is also very good for kids with a large number of options and interactive gaming device at each table. The service is very good, and the food is decent to good. The menu does change quite a bit, but if you stick to southwestern and sandwiches you are usually good. read more

We stopped eating at Chili's years ago along with Applebees and the rest of them. The food became too commercial, and it felt like frozen options. In fact I eat Chili's more in airports than the actual brick and mortars. However one thing that Chili's has always had that kept it top of mind is their Presidente margarita. We were shopping at the mall one day and decided to just grab a quick bite,drink, and we knew the kids would be happy. That day has now turned into monthly visits. First let me say the rewards program is the best out there and keeps us coming monthly! Drinks Presidente Margarita-As good as it has always been and I am such a cocktail snob. Top shelf liquor, not too sweet, not to tart, hand shaken and you get about 3 in a carafe. I add jalapenos to give it a kick. They also have a monthly Margarita that is $5.00 and always delicious. Honey Chipotle Crispers-Things things are like honey, sticky wings on steroids. Soooo delicious that I would choose this over wings any day. Chips and Salsa-I am obsessed with how crispy and thin there tortilla chips are! The salsa taste like it is made from scratch and can beat most Mexican restaurants any day. Triple Dipper-The sliders are perfect, egg rolls are delicious, and again the Crispers are to die for! Most importantly the service at this particular location is incredible! They are friendly, hardworking, and make you feel like you are in a fine establishment. I have told the manager several times how great they are, truly amazing team. Chilis we are back and will date you monthly! Our kids love you, you make great drinks and your food has stepped all the way up! Chili's use to be my dads and family fav. When the menu changed years ago we lost interest. Today was my 1st time back in over 10 years and I was pleasantly surprised. The manager was so wonderfully pleasant and welcoming. He and his teams service was a great added touch to the new expanded menu and decor. I placed an order online. It was my turn to cook. I had to doctor up part of my order. I had to place my order and call to let them know the details of what needed to be changed to my order. They answered the phone quickly, found my order and made the changes I was requesting. My oder was done at the time it was scheduled and was correct. Everything was to our likings and was fresh. Thought I'd stop and have dinner with my wife but never went beyond the host stand. We stood at the host stand for over 10 minutes despite employees and managers walking by. They never once acknowledged us and the restaurant was not busy. Finally a younger female host came up and got smart with my wife and I and ask why we were there. Thinking she was joking, I lightly said we came to eat dinner. She replied "oh is that what you do here" in a smart and disrespectful tone. It shocked my wife to the point we just turned and left as did the couple behind us. This behavior is one of entitlement and one demonstrated by unregulated and poorly managed employees. I came here with 2 other people ( 3 total ) we were seated quickly and greeting by our waiter who informed us that their short staffed on the floor and in the kitchen, ok not a big deal we aren't bothered by that. We order our soda drinks they come and the waiter doesn't bring straws so I go to the bar and ask the gentleman for a couple straws and he goes "straws are only for kids and bar drinks" I said ok we ordered bar drinks and also soda drinks he goes "theirs a shortage of straws and I can't give you one I'm sorry" UHM, are you kidding me... I walk away and get back to my table as as soon as I sit down the manager comes over to "check" on us and proceeds to explain how they have to buy straws out of their own pocket and only give them for kids and bar beverages, after sitting there in complete shock and confusion I'm like ok fine whatever. The manager walks away and comes back w some straws then comes our food, cold like it was someone's left overs that they jus put in the microwave! Our side of bread was so hard I couldn't even rip it apart, we tell our waiter and he picks it up off the plate drops it on the floor and literally stomps on it and goes "you're right it is rock hard" I couldn't help but to bust out laughing I felt like this whole night here is a joke! Second bad experience with this restaurant. Highly recommend avoiding it. I ordered a ribeye, medium rare over Uber Eats. I received a burnt dried out inedible piece of meat. I literally could not chew it and it tasted disgusting anyways. When contacted they refused a refund or discount of any kind. Not sure how they expect people to eat there when you pay 24 dollars and get this experience. read more

I haven't been to Chili's in over 15 years. I consider it a step above Denny's. My teenage son had recently gone with another family a few weeks prior. We had a special occasion and let him pick the restaurant. He picked Chili's. It's been a really long time, I'll go with his choice. We sat down at 6:45. We ordered. We watched other people come in after and get their food. We asked the waitress and she said something about it is on the ticket and should be out. 7:25 food came. 40 minutes on a Wednesday night. For my first visit in 15 years, nothing is changing my opinion. I had the smokehouse burger. Flavorful? Burnt. What did it taste like? A burnt burger. My young son got mac and cheese. It is just blue box Kraft. I hope this didn't take them 40 minutes. My son who picked the restaurant wanted the same thing he had last time. Some chicken strips called crispers. He thought they were much more spicy than before. So much, he didn't eat them. My wife had a small steak. Eh. Nothing went well. It was really 1 star, I just feel sorry for them. Also get those darn video game consoles off the table. I need my kids to focus on eating not asking about video games. I cannot recommend this place. read more

Our server was awesome however she had a huge table of teenagers who didn't know how to behave in a restaurant. Our drinks arrived about a minute before our food which is unacceptable. My fiancé's mac and cheese arrived cold. No manager in site to help the poor server with a huge table on a busy Sunday afternoon. But half pound of bacon was. 2nd pick your own combo all they sent me out with was gelatinous cold chicken smothered in cheese of some sort. Stopped in early Saturday afternoon & restaurant was not busy. Took awhile before our server arrived. By that time, 2 additional tables were sat near us. Both tables got to order drinks & appetizers before we even saw our server-who also served the other 2 tables. Finally ordered chips & salsa, with queso. Chips came; queso came out 15 minutes later. Our actual food came out ANOTHER 30 minutes after that! We had to get a busser to get refills for us. Food was average at best. We were in this morning at about 11: 00 there were 4 of us ,2 separate checks . The waiter was acting as if we were a bother , rolling his eyes with every request. Waiter has no clue about pre bussing or refilling drinks. When we payed the bill both parties were over charged , mine by $10.00 dollars which reflected on his tip. Not sure where to start..... always have the worst luck at this place. DO NOT come here when they are busy, you can expect poor service and luke warm food, and an unapologetic waitress. Our food came out barely warm, and the butter on my steak was completely melted as if it had been sitting for 20 minutes. Asked to remake, and by the time my second steak was brought out, everyone else at the table was done eating. No apologies from the waitress, just awkwardly passed by our table 3-4 times avoiding eye contact. Had them box my steak up to eat at home, and got home to eat it and my "medium" steak was so raw it was inedible. It was so raw i couldn't even give it to my dog as a snack. I was very disappointed in our service at this Chili's location. When we arrived no one acknowledged us to seat us. Not a look or "Be right with you". We seated ourselves in the bar, and the server helped us shortly thereafter. When our entrees arrived, one was cold, and one was raw (chicken tenders) and then a crouton was found floating in the honey mustard. It was overall a disappointing experience. Was craving the southwest roll since we are in the area decided to stop by here instead of going to the one in Gilbert closer to home the rolls were dissatisfying it was soggy. Also had the salsa a chip first batch was too oily then the waiter replaced it with supposedly new one so second batch was stale seems old to me. It was not busy at all and the waiter was taking for ever to come around with food and checking if anything else is need etc... ases like management needs to retrain employees will not be coming back to this location read more

K, C and I stopped in on a Thursday night, about 7. We got sat right away. The dining room was pretty busy but it was clean. Our server was Judi. She was awesome. In fact, K and I commented and told the female manager that the entire experience was great. What ever she and her management crew were doing was working, at least from our perspective. K and I had one of our usual's, the two for $20. We both got Chicken and Pork Fajitas. Each order came out sizzling, had a good portion of protein vs green bell pepper slices and onions. The chicken was not over cooked, the pork was tasty and really one of the best fajita efforts we've had in awhile. You get an app with the 2 for $20 deal so we chose the chips and Guacamole. The Guac was fresh and you get a very nice portion. Winner winner 2 for $20 dinner. C got the Big Mouth Bites ($9.69). Basically 4 sliders. C ordered them Medium and they came out pretty darn close. At least they were far from the hockey pucks we've experienced before at places that serve these mini burgers. The french fries that came with his dinner were done right, not overly salted and cooked properly. Nice. Great experience. Great Food. Clean Facility. 5 Stars. I want to note here that giving Chili's a 5 Star rating was very difficult. We dine at Chili's a lot. Not just this location but the one in Gilbert and Mesa. As customers, we've become conditioned to expect some issues with customer service because most businesses are short staffed. It's a chain (of course), which I mostly try to avoid in favor of smaller, family-owned joints. The food is adequate. Not special, but fine. Sort of a hybrid Mexican/American/Southwest. I have been coming to this chili's for years and the food has always been great. I noticed the quality lately has been poor. My daughter received burnt to the crisp sliders. It's frustrating as my husband had to wait a while for the food, then when we get the food it's burnt. I then have to go out of my way to get a new order for food. Well let me start by saying we are visiting today, May 30, during the COVID scare. We are here from the central coast of CA where it is usually 67 degrees year round. That being said, we came to the door and checked in. Myself and 3 kids. I am diabetic as are 3@2 of my 3 children that were with me and we are not use to the 114 degree temps here. As you enter to wait for a table, you are no longer allowed to sit in the waiting area. There were already people standing near the seats, we we stood by the door. I was told to stand outside and wait for a table. This is not good for people with disabilities to be out in the heat. It would be better to allow people to sit and wait. The benches are easily wiped down. Once we got our food it was really good and our waitress was amazing. This place just needs to use common sense with customers during an "extreme heat advisory". read more

I visited this Chilis just cause i needed something to kill time. I just lost my husband 7 weeks ago and this is the first time I've been out to eat since he died..I sat down and started tearing up cause we would visit Chilis often. The waitress was Taylor and she asked if i was ok and i was just sad, so i explained why i was on verge of crying. Taylor took the time to listen and let me work through my emotions. She checked on me while i ate. I was done and she asked if i needed a box so she brought me one, then proceeded to tell me the check was taken care of. Of course i said you dont have to do that and she insisted. So this is a small thanks i can give to Taylor. Thank you Taylor and Chilis for hiring this amazing waitress. read more
