We went in for dessert and ended up trying the skillet toffee fudge brownie. First off it did not look like the photo on the menu...it came with a very small scoop of ice cream and it really needed more ice cream. Eating the brownie without ice cream it was dry. Overall it was tasty. Someone else in our party ordered the sweet an smoky burger and they enjoyed it but we miss the mushroom Swiss burger which was our "go to" for years...disappointing. I've read the other reviews for THIS Chili's but we normally go here regularly, especially when my wife NEEDS a Margarita! The service in the dining area has mostly been pretty good. When it's busy, the wait can be longer but manageable. We normally get their 3 for $10 meal with Bacon Burger, Coca-Cola, Baked Potato chowder and fries(son), and a $25 for two, (items can vary) but tonight onion Petals to start, Ribs with original bbq sauce, my wife's FAVORITE and corn and Chicken Crispers with Honey Chipotle and fries. I especially liked the Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers, Crispy, Sweet and SPICY! And my wife got an El Presidente Strawberry Margarita which is served in the Margarita glass with the shaker. For dessert we usually get the Chocolate Chip cookie in a skillet with and extra scoop of Vanilla ice cream! A great finish to our dinner! Their food is prepared well enough for my taste and the dining staff really work hard to take care or you. And, as an added bonus, they have Sports in the TVs in the dining area, music playing, and they have WiFi which is ok. They also have these little terminals for games, service and ordering/paying. Our booth, even though table and seats were clean, the floor in our booth was dirty and a little bit slippery with food on the floor. Normally they are cleaner than this. Our server this evening is Mike and even though he dropped some dishes(maybe just one), not ours, he handled it like a champ! This evening there no waiting and we were seated right away. I do not really eat at Chili's but I had a gift card so I figured free food couldn't hurt, but it can. The service was absolutely amazing, but it just could not make up for the food. The waitress was super nice and it is not her fault this place sucks. I ordered the $20 for two dinner thing which has a large selection. This was a new item to me so I figured i would give it a try. The food came super fast and hot, but it was pretty gross. The food items I received were the chicken ranch quesadillas, battered shrimp, Texas fries, and the chips with queso. Everything was super bland and just salted to death. I couldn't finish anything. I thought Chili's used to be good and now I can't remember. Will not be back in the near future. read more

Not sure how a company would tell me that it is acceptable for customers to chew tobacco and spit in their cups in the restaurant bar in front of other guests. That disgusting and unsanitary habit reaches just as many senses as your food. The odor, sound and look of spit Tobacco in a cup. Whether this is legal or not, you should hold your restaurant to a higher standard and not allow this in your restaurant. I'll never visit this or any other Chili's after this experience. read more

The staff is friendly and every time I've eaten here we are seated right away. I've been here many times for all different occasions. For appetizers, my favs are the triple dipper, chips and salsa and white spinach queso. For entrees I usually order the fajitas or chicken crispers. The fajitas are by far my fav dish here. Also I get a chocolate molten to finish off my meals, if I don't get one I usually regret it. Lol. This restaurant is clean, kid friendly, and the food is delicious! This place has gone down in its service over the years used to love coming here but the visit here today was the worst of all. First off ordered myself a lemonade the wife got ice tea the server brought the tea n water but no lemonade waited n waited then finally came back to take our order I looked at him and said I'm still waiting for my lemonade he looked at me all confused I said again my lemonade is not here yet can I get some lemonade he then looked at my wife n said you got your tea I said I need me some lemonade and which at that point he was at the no tip level. Always a fun place to wind down with my partner. We love grabbing food and drinks here! The staff are friendly and they you seated and your order started right away. You really cannot go wrong here with their food. We had quite a bit of their food throughout all the times we've been here. We like their triple fajitas with the shrimp, chicken and steak. The sides of rice and beans too! Plus their appetizers of their guacamole is delicious. We've had margaritas and tequila shots too which we're very delicious and the alcohol content was in point! I'm only giving this place 2 stars because of the food quality. My friends & I started off with some California grilled chicken flat-bread which didn't taste all that great because the sides were burnt :(. We also got the Southwestern mac 'n' cheese which was bland & home style fries which tasted like they've been sitting on the counter for a while. That being said, we didn't expect much from our actual order for lunch. I ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas and they tasted like any other tasteless Americanized version of Spanish food. The rice tasted like it hasn't been washed prior to cooking and the black beans that came with it were very mushy. Overall it was an unsatisfying experience but since my friends & I did come after rush hour and the waitresses that served us were great, I might give Chilis another chance. read more

We usually go about once a month for about the past 5 years. i haven't seen a familiar face yet, so i'm wondering if it has a high turn-over rate. that's sad because it's usually familiarity that will help with service. onto food, my fav is the chicken enchilada. when i crave thick, warm cheesy, spicy, it's my go-to at this joint. tried the chili... not my style. i like beans with my chili. i've asked, and they say that there are beans... must have dissolved. So myself and a coworker went to Chili's today for lunch. We both work have about an hour for lunch and thought we could catch a little football and eat at the same time. We both ordered the 3 for $10 special and we decide to split an order of the Game day bone in wings. We kept everything pretty simple and basic, No extra no special directions nothing. We got there around 3:30 and decided to eat at the bar. I see there is only one bartender back there and the bar is full I look around at the tables in the bar area and I dont see anyone waiting tables. I look over at the bartender again and bless her she is looking overwhelmed but she see us and takes our order and she gets us or drinks within 5 mins. Then we wait. I watch this woman taking food orders, cashing out tabs, cleaning her bar, running food and pouring drinks at the same time. She was literally doing the work of 4 to 5 people by herself. Anyway 20 mins later a food runner that looks like he could give a damn about customers shows up with my bowl of chili and my friends salad. Now I know both the salad and chili are done. It is only a matter of scooping each out into a bowl and serving it yet it took 20 damn mins to show up. About a halk hour into our visit we have got a our appetitzers and drinks so now we are waiting for the entrees to show up. Again nothing difficult was ordered, A bacon cheeseburger with no bacon for my friend and Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers for me, plain ole fries for both of us and corn for me.I look up and 40 mins has gone by and no food and no acknowledgement we ordered any. After sitting there over 50 mins I inquire about the whereabouts of our food by now help has arrived for the bartender and she is taking a well earned break. There are now servers and a new bartender. Anyway i ask about our food and the new bartender goes scrambling back into the kitchen by the time she comes back ding its 60 mins and we have to get back to the job. We get 2 boxes and dump our entrees in them and pay. Now the whole time I am waiting I am on Chili's website documenting this experience because it is just that awful. I am sure the servers and new bartender see this. My friend pays with a credit card and I pay in cash. The new bartender comes back with 2 credit card receipts and no regular receipt for either one of us. See when you are making a comment of the website it asks for your receipt number which isnt on a credit card receipt. We get back to the job clock in a shove our food down our throats not even having time to enjoy it. I still file my complaint. I will never ever got to Chili's again for lunch and to be honest after service that bad and that sneaky attempt to make sure I cant make a credible report to Chili's Corporate (I made one anyway) I may not set foot in that Chili's again in this life time. The 2 stars go to Sarah? the first bartender we encountered, she wast busting her bubble and never forgot about us I hope you are working on a better job you deserve it. Everyone else was at best average to poor. We even had one of the servers that was just getting there come over and say I cant take your order cuz I havent clocked in and then disappear never to be seen from again until we spotted him serving people that had come in after us their while we were still waiting on our food. Wow! We walked in at 4:20 on 04/29 and said "awesome! No wait!" (lol). We stood at the hostess stand for 5 minutes, even made eye contact with 3 servers and the bartender, but no one came to the front. Not until I started looking at a clipboard on the counter, then a girl came over. She asked how many, there were 3 of us. She looked at me and my son. Then to my husband, who was standing with us, she asked "how many?" He said "I'm with them (indicating us)". She asked the family behind us "how many?" After they answered, she turned to my husband and asked "are you with them?" Looking at the 2 of our groups we were clearly 2 separate families. ANYWAY, she the told us "you can sit in the bar or the dining room, but we only have one server tonight, so first I have to go ask her if she can serve you." We were like "never mind, this is just wierd". We left. This is not the first time this has happened here. Once, we sat in the bar, at a booth, for 25 minutes, and no one waited on us so we left. When I finally asked the bartender, he came over, with a total attitude, gave us a couple of menu's, took our drink order and never came back (even though we were seated by the bar!). Chilies seriously needs to send some undercover guests in there to check this out! We gave them plenty of chances; we're done. *I tried several times to inform them on their website, but it always says "trouble sending your comments. Try again later." Chilis, a blast from the past. I had not eaten here in at least five years, maybe more despite the fact that there is one located less than a mile from where my husband and I live in Elk Grove. Tonight, however, we decided to return to the chain restaurant where we went to on our first real date. Awww! I know, how romantic, right?? Anyway, enough about the mushy stuff, and more about our actual dining experience... First of all, I have to say I liked where we were seated in the bar, not only because they have fantastic happy deals, but because it is a cozy little neighborhood restaurant, a good place to watch football, if you are into that. Our waitress was very nice and attentive as well. Excited to try the "two for twenty items" on the menu, we ordered the following: two appetizers-the yummy queso dip with tortilla chips. This was addictive, but I did not care for the bland salsa it came with. We got this because we had a free email coupon for it. Then we also had the chipotle chicken flatbread. This was a small appetizer, definitely just enough for two people, but it was yummy. This was part of the two for twenty deal. For our dinner, my husband ordered the half rack of baby back ribs served with french fries. He liked the ribs but the portion was small. He could have had a full rack of baby back ribs.. Tasty, but did not care for the accompanying barbecue sauce, as it tasted too much like katsup, hope I spelled that right. I ordered the six ounce sirloin steak, medium well done with the loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli.The steak was a bit thin, but still flavorful and juicy. The broccoli was fresh and crisp. The loaded mashed potatoes were the best thing on my plate, DELICIOUS. I highly recommend these spuds to everyone. Although this is not my favorite place to dine out, it is still somewhere convenient I would return to, especially at happy hour. Next time I will try one of their salads and those Texas fries on the menu, they sound pretty darn good, too. read more

This is my usual place if I want a couple of drinks and some food. I've used this Chili's to meet with potential roommates as well, which is perfect because meeting over a drink works amazingly well. Last time I went was with my roommate, the Corona-rita was delicious as well as the blueberry margarita as always. We ordered the sampler appetizer with hot wings, egg rolls and mini sliders, hot pretzels with beer cheese and nachos to split. The pretzel was so yummy! The nachos weren't too bad, but were missing something I just couldn't put my finger on. We sat at the bar, and the bartender made sure that we were taken care of the entire time we were there. I love Chili's. It's still one of my favorite restaurants to go to with my friends. I used to love the chicken fajita quesadillas, but now I seem to only dine on small things. Basically, all I order when I come here is a strawberry lemonade, chips n' salsa (of course), and chicken enchilada soup. That may not seem very filling to some people, but it's my favorite meal combination at Chili's! I love their salsa - it has a tomato tangy flavor that is different than most other salsas. Their chips are big and crispy and make for ample scooping up of the salsa. The enchilada soup is delicious - it's thick with chunks of chicken, cheese, and strips of tortilla. While I have been adventurous and tried other things on the menu, I just can't seem to stray from my favorite items! read more

After church, mom and I went out for lunch. She decide on going to Chili's because we haven't been there in quite some time...now I know why! It was honestly one of the worst dine in experience I've had. My mom got the 'Make It A Combo' meal with the 'Spicy Garlic & Lime Grilled Shrimp' and the 'Margarita Grilled Chicken'. The spicy shrimp was pretty good but the portion of her food wasn't worth $17.49. She also had the 'Black berry Iced Tea' which was refreshing, but my 'Skinny Margarita' was more on the sour side. I ordered the 'Mango-Chile Tilapia' but when it reached the table, the tilapia turned into chicken! (gag) Our server wasn't periodically checking on us, so I didn't get my entree fixed until my mom was nearly done with hers, and by that time I lost my appetite. I don't even want to talk about how long it took just to get the bill. We sat there for over an hour and just had 'Chips and Salsa' and the two entrees. I have always loves Chilis chain restaurant for their delicious chicken enchilada soup but today I stopped by to check out their happy hour specials and I was honestly disappointed. Not only was I overcharged for two drinks that were clearly listed with a certain price on the happy hour menu, but the service was slow and the bartender ignored me and my friend for an entire 10 minutes on a slow Thursday around 3pm!! I was about to get up from my seat and walk out, but he apologized for the wait time and made my drinks promptly after that. Overall the ambiance was quite casual and laid back but all the servers and bartenders seemed to be dragging as they were all quite slow today. I do not think I will be returning here again anytime soon, be it happy hour or not. :/ read more

I used to come here a lot for the baby back ribs...just thinking about them makes my mouth water. But seeing as I can't eat pork anymore...I've had to come up with alternatives when eating here. I love that they're rarely super busy and they have call ahead seating, so I'm never stuck waiting for an hour before I eat! Unlimited chips and salsa area awesome. The shrimp and chicken pastas are both good as well. I've recently taken a liking to the fajita trio, which comes with chicken, steak, and shrimp! YUMM! Chili's happy hour (M-F 3-7pm) is not bad! My sisters and I came here after a post-holiday shopping trip and wanted some food and drinks. Since we were exceptionally hungry, we got sliders, jalapeno fries, two orders of buffalo chicken wings, egg rolls and the spinach and artichoke dip. The best items were the fries, the dip and the chicken wings. All the other dishes just didn't cut it for me. I highly recommend the happy hour if you're in the area. Not worth the drive otherwise. I came here with a friend because my family gave me a $20 gift card. Yay! We came during a busy weekday dinner time, having to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. My friend and I decided we would have their 2 for 20 special which led me to want to order the fried pickles appetizer and steak (medium-rare) entree with a side of mashed potatoes and rice. My friend on the other hand had the fajitas with both meats. The appetizer was good, only a tad bit too much batter~ But I really do love pickles, so it didn't really affect me~ My friend really loved his fajitas especially since they came out all hot and sizzling. As for my steak, I thought it was good. I really loved the rice though, it complimented my steak very well! All in all, I thought it was a really good value for the $20 paid for everything. Our server was really nice and attentive and the restaurant was pretty clean, despite how busy they were. I felt we were able to have a really good time there :) Parking is inside a plaza, so even if the restaurant is busy, there are still other places to park. read more

We literally live down the street from this place so on days when my family likes to eat out we more than likely choose this establishment. Almost every time we eat there our food is either cold, late, or the service sucks. We dined there almost a month ago. We were served drinks. During a pandemic you would think that many restaurants would have straws to be safe. My wife asked for a straw and the waitress tell us that there isn't anymore and that they've been out for a while. It only does that sound like an excuse but during this particular time tang we all are in you would expect a "manager" to make an executive decision and somehow someway get straws in there for the customer. That's the 1st incident. This next incident has happened on plenty occasion with us. We orders our food for pick up and no one came out yo greet me. I waited i my car for 20 minutes before I had to get out and see about my order. After entering the building i see associates standing around and talking while there customers waiting for their orders. I was approached by someone who asked for the name on my order as I told him and informed him that I've been waiting almost 30 minutes for my food. he goes and checks on it. He talked to a manager, I'm assuming Thais young lady was a manager because she was wearing a red shirt. He comes back to tell me that they are waiting for one more item. Total BS. After waiting another 15 minutes for my food I get how to realize that my food was cold which meant that my order had been cooked and sitting. We as consumers understand that places are short staffed but that's starting to become an excuse now. Managers need to manage and do their job when these thing occur. There's no accountability in that place and we've dined there for the last time. After filing a complaint im still waiting to hear back from management because at this point we want our money back for our last dinner. I've also left a review on google maps a couple months back about them not answering the phone. I wouldn't waste my time here. The staff suck and so does management. read more

It makes me sad to write this review. Chilis used to be my GO TO lunch and dinner place. However, both the food and service quality has gone downhill drastically. We went a few months ago on a Friday expecting it to be moderately busy (it was about 4:30 so a little before the dinner rush). The place was about half full and only waited about 10 minutes before being seated. Once seated, then we waited. And waited. About 25 minutes went by and no server came by to even take our drinks. People being seated after us with larger parties were getting served and having drink AND food orders placed. Finally we flagged a server and asked them if they knew who our server is supposed to be and explained how long we had been waiting. He apologized, placed drink orders for us and said he would track down our server. That same server brought us our drinks and then we waited some more. At this point it had been 45 minutes since we were sat and NO ONE had come to take our food order or even check in, besides the server we had to flag down. We decided to pay for our drinks on the portable screen at our table and left. We told the hostess on the way out what happened so that they were aware of what happened. That left such a bad taste in our mouth that we didn't try Chilis again until this past weekend. We went during off hours, on a Saturday at 1pm. We sat in the bar area and the bartender served us. He did excellent and was super friendly. However, the menu had changed and the food just tasted greasy and bland. The only thing still worth ordering there are the crispy chicken crispers - oh yea, they don't even have their famous original chicken crispers anymore, just the crispy version. So, if you can go during off hours where you're more likely to get good service, and you're just in the mood for chicken crispers, I guess this will do. However, there are so many other better restaurant options out there now and Chilis has not adapted to stay relevant in the restaurant landscape. read more

I went here with a couple of friends. We ordered the Southwest Eggrolls for an appetizer, which was pretty good. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering the "Southwest Cedar Plank Tilapia". I'll do you the favor by telling you to PLEASE never order this. It should be retired from the menu. The whole concept seems pretty neat... You smoke a fish on top of a cedar plank. The execution... Not so good. Not only had the over-smoked cedar taste seep into the fish, it seeped into the rice, and the vegetables. Disgusting. So our waiter, who was ever-so-attentive to us was kind enough to exchange it for something else on their menu (I got the Cajun Shrimp Fettucine.) All in all, it was a decent dinner. I probably would've given more stars because the service was good, but that Southwest Cedar Plank Tilapia really left a bitter taste in my mouth (both literally and figuratively.) read more
