The food here is the same as it is at any other Chilis. I knew what to expect and it was good. Service on the other hand was a little less than lacking. We had 6 adults and 1 baby in our party. They cram us into the smallest table they have and place the baby in a sling out in the isle. Everyone that walked by bumped the baby and it was in the way for when she tried to service the table. This place is going downhill fast. I haven't been back in awhile due to last few services being very bad. Decided to give it a shot since we wanted Honey Chipotle Chicken. Seated quickly, then ignored. Around the 8 minute mark another table was seated across from us. Finally at 10 minutes our server Dawn finally showed up for drink orders. At 18 minutes, she came back to take our order. By the time we finally got our food,the apps, which was followed by a minute later the entrees, it was minute 37. The other table had already gotten apps, main course, multiple drink refills, and was sitting waiting on desert. We'd gotten one refill. Around minute 60 I finally gave up waiting on our to go box and side order of dressing we'd asked for and just asked the guy across from us for his spare box he decided he didn't need. I asked for no jalapenos or tomatoes, and yet we got them. I asked for one set of crispers to be honey chipotle and the other two to be the originals, and we got a honey, an original, and a crispy. One set of fries on the plate had cheese and bacon on them, the other didnt. Hands down the worst server I've ever had anywhere. And yet the minute the light changed green on the pay kiosk, she was right there to help clear the table. My fiancee and I visited the Garner Chili's Monday July 1, 2013 for dinner. Before leaving we ordered dessert as well as a to go meal to eat the next day for lunch. Upon getting the check I noted that the suggested gratuity was larger than I was comfortable with and decided to leave a cash tip for 20% of the actual dine in meal and not the suggested 18% of the dine-in and to go meal. I signed the receipt and wrote the total amount of $52.03 (meal and tax) on the bottom of the receipt and left the appropriate cash tip of $6 (20% of $30) as well. Upon checking my back account this morning I see that my card was charged the full amount $52.03 plus "suggested" gratuity of $8.69 for a total of $60.71. I am very upset that I was essentially charged nearly $15 of a tip. This was my first visit to your establishment and will be my last. read more

Hubby and I came here to have lunch. The place was not busy at all but we still waited for almost 10 minutes before someone finally came and direct us to our table. We ordered our food which was served pretty quickly except that the ribeye was a little tough to chew and onion rings was way overcooked. There were Ziosk on every table, which I guess, they want you to use to order desserts and pay your bills. The Ziosk on our table wasn't working (or maybe my husband and I were just too dumb to operate it), so when it was time for us to leave, my husband has to haunt around for someone so we can pay our bills and leave. I am not much of a reviewer because I am a business owner myself. I just want Chili's to know that people are looking for personal attention when they come in to a business. My suggestion is to get rid of those annoying Ziosk and replace them with more attentive employees. read more

Customer service for carry out was fantastic. En route from Durham to pick up dinner in Garner, my husband's car broke down. I called & spoke with Dave? who informed the closing manager Rachel of our situation. We couldn't pick up our order when it was scheduled to be ready. There's really no reason to review the food at these chain places. You know what to expect. It's really just the service that makes the difference between the locations. I stopped in here to grab a quick lunch before returning to work. I waited a minute or two to be seated because the hostess was not at the stand. She may have been somewhere in the restaurant performing some other job duties. After I was seated in a nearly empty restaurant, I waited a full five minutes for a server to show up. At this point, I decided I would leave and grab a sandwich someplace else. There's too many options in the area to be forced to wait on bad service. read more

I came to Chili's for lunch yesterday and I originally thought our server was very nice he offered to move our table to help my son with the high chair. I had someone meeting me and once she got there he was rude to her and during our lunch he didn't refill our drinks without us having to ask he never came to the table to check on us or to let us know it would be longer than usual. He didn't bring or appetizer out for about 30 to 45 minutes after being there. He brought my daughters food first and at that time I asked for the rest of the food to be brought out with the appetizer since it was taking so long and he didn't do that after he brought our appetizer about 20 minutes later he brought my friends lunch but not mine and right before he brought her lunch to the table we were looking around for him and when he dropped the plate off at the table he said "I see y'all looking for me, we don't have enough cooks". I never got my food we were there an hour and a half and he was extremely disrespectful and rude to us I will never ever go back to that Chili's again he made our experience terrible I don't know how he has a job there because he sucks he is super disrespectful but was respectful to all of the African-American tables but not myself and my white friend. read more

This is a normal chili's as far as quality of food. The baked potato soup is yummy and filling. I enjoy the chips and ranch sauce as well. The cheese and beef dip for chips is disgusting and loaded with salt. Stay away from that stuff. The service could be much better and their etiquette leaves a lot to be desired with a few of the servers ranting and raving about customers in front of customers. The drinks are poured with a stingy hand, I guess it's the rules if your not friends with the bartenders but they do have a nice flavor. All in all, it's ok if you want a cheap'ish meal. read more

This is the first time I have been thoroughly disappointed in Chili's. My first major disappointment: I came here to work on homework and have dinner while doing so, anticipating that-like 90% of places now-they would supply wifi for their customers. No such luck. My bad, probably should have looked that up before coming here. Although this isn't a huge deal, it added to my disappointment of the evening. Second major issue for me: I waiting 20 minutes to even have a waiter come to ask me for my drink order- and he got the drink order of the table next to me who came in roughly 5-10 minutes after I did. Third issue: The waiter addressed me inappropriately. Sorry friend, I am not your "honey" or "lady" or whatever other pet name you want to call me. I'm a paying customer who wishes to be addressed as a human being not patronized. Fourth issue: Waited an absurd amount of time for my food to be delivered to my table. Fifth issue: I guess the reason they were taking so long to bring it to me is that they spent extra time making sure it was thoroughly burnt. Sixth issue: Their machine on the table was out of batteries, so I have to wait even longer to get the attention of the server in order to make my payment and just get the hell out of there. This is very unfortunate as normally the experiences that I have had with chilis have been really good. I will not be back to this particular restaurant, and from seeing the other reviews, it seems like this is a recurring theme. read more

Our family frequents this Chilis and have never had a bad experience. The staff has always been friendly, our servers have always been attentive and accurate, and the food has always been prompt, hot and delicious. The selection of food and drink are excellent and nearly always have a difficult time selecting what I want because everything is so good. Service has really gone downhill here recently. Food takes a very long time to get to the table, and when it does, it's not hot. They have a new system where there are game units at each table (you can use it for $1), and that can add to problems if you have more than one child who may want to play it. read more

My husband and I decided to have lunch before we headed to the Saturday afternoon matinee, so we decided to try out Chili's. While the food was excellent, the service was horrible. Our waitress, who decided that it was more important to fix her nails and socialize with her colleagues than do her job and serve us, was about the worst waitress we have ever had. Because she wasn't paying attention because she was way too busy socializing, she screwed up my husband's drink order, and when we tried to track her down to give him the right drink, she wasn't paying attention to us and still socializing. It was so ridiculous, that we almost decided to report her to the manager. However, I think she heard us mention that and she stepped up her game a little bit more. If you can tolerate the terrible service for the good food, come here and eat. We may be back because of the food. Hopefully their service will be better and we don't get that annoying waitress again. read more

(My second review of this restaurant) We visited on a Saturday evening and had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated, no biggie since the place is usually packed on a Saturday night. First of all, the food was good once we got it...we had to wait quite a while after ordering before they finally brought it. Again, it being a Saturday night, I can see this. However, the waiter was a little slow to bring back refills on drinks, and when the main entree came out, there was no Texas Toast to go with our steaks. He didn't bother to say anything about it so I asked and he said, "it's probably not come out of the oven yet". Here's the part that was annoying most of all. Our booth was the one closest to the host/seater's station at the front and that waiting area had been SRO from the time we got there to the pretty much the time we left. But, not very long after we were seated, about 3 or 4 individuals decided they were going to wait in the little area adjacent to our table, which is actually outside of the proper waiting area. The waiters/waitresses have to access that area where the individuals were standing and waiting - I think they get silverware or napkins or something from that area so these folks were in the way of the wait staff, plus it was noticeable they were standing around, making my wife and myself uncomfortable. We felt like our table had become part of the waiting area. Not that the folks there were especially loud or annoying, they really weren''t, but just the fact that they were allowed to wait in the dining area was a little perturbing. And, when we were taking our last bites of our meals, one of the waiters finally found them seating. Then, my wife had asked the waiter for a Coke to go at some point earlier but the waiter never brought it when we were getting our bill. Again, the food was very good but I think the management of this restaurant could improve quite a bit, which is the same thing I assessed on my last review in November. So, basically, if you go on a Saturday night, expect to wait a while to get seated, and expect to wait another while for your food to get to you. Good luck on getting a good waiter/waitress, and don't be surprised if you find the folks waiting to be seated to be hanging around your table. read more

In search of finally having an enjoyable stress free dinner together, my husband and I end up at Chili's in Garner. If we'd only known. .we got seated right away. Our server was friendly and prompt. We got drinks, ordered guac at the table. The first red flag was when our server came out and told us he had to chop up the ingredients for the tableside guac, I glanced over and saw the jalapeños were not fresh/raw, but olive green like what goes in queso. Gave the guy a break, didn't say anything. Determined to have a good dinner, we ordered. .I ordered the prime rib tacos, the menu said they had chimichurri sauce on them and avocado, my 2 favorite things. Waiting for our food, the table kiosk didn't work, when the food came, it didn't look like the picture in the menu, my tacos were soupy, SOUPY! I ate the first one, 9:45pm, pretty hungry, so gross. No chimichurri of course, in fact I gave a taco to my husband saying, "it tastes and looks like canned beef stew" he bit into it and gagged, he said it reminded him of Alpo. It ended up spit into his napkin. Our server apologized and helped us on the bill. But on the way home I was sick. .evening RUINED!!! read more
