Always perfect whether dine-in or take-out. Tonight was dine-in sitting in Kaylene's section in the bar...this girl goes above and beyond! Extremely friendly, great service and always fun to see her!

Then we noted that the restaurant was within 30 minutes of closing. So, we quickly diverted to El Charro in Bullhead City, only to learn that it, too, was about to close. So, I turned around and headed here, even though OpenTable reported that no time slots were available. I dropped Diane off before parking, and she easily scored a table here. In fact, hardly anyone was seated inside the restaurant, and it did not seem like a festive Mexican holiday at all. The Tuesday Night Menu was very limited, but I selected very tasty and smooth Stone Guacamole not prepared tableside but including tomatoes, White Onion, and jalapenos, to go with house-prepared salsa and spiced up Tortilla Chips. By request Diane received a complimentary basket of non-spicy Tortilla Chips, as well as a Kids Cheese Quesadilla. Somehow this filled her up. I, on the other hand, ordered a Southwest Beef Burrito with added beans inside, and Roja Sauce and Queso on top. The burro was large, but I finished it, along with more beans, and included rice. Everything tasted good and washed down well with Diet Pepsi. Service by Brett was very good, and at least the decor of the restaurant had the festive feel of Old Mexico, in this instance without the camaraderie of fellow celebrants.

As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by a friendly bartender who quickly got me settled with a great margarita and a menu. We ordered our food to go, and everything was delicious. My husband had the fish tacos with rice and beans, and he couldn't stop talking about how flavorful they were. I was especially impressed by the menu's variety of vegitarian options--including a unique potato taco. I chose the vegetable enchilada, and it exceeded my expectations. The sauce was perfectly balanced and incredibly tasty. Honestly, I wish I had ordered a second dish to enjoy the next day. We were also served a basket of freshly made chips and salsa, which were homemade that morning. There's just nothing like fresh salsa that was on point! Overall, I highly recommend this spot for family and friends. It's a small, cozy place, so calling ahead for larger groups might be a good idea. The food is easily some of the best Mexican cuisine I've had in Arizona so far.

Real good, crispy homemade chips and salsa with the right amount of intentional spice. I ordered the spicy jalapeno margarita. That was a disappointing. Didn't want to eat too much late so I ordered menudo and burrito supreme with rice and beans. Complementary chips and salsa was nice. Salsa had pretty good flavor. It was close to closing so not too many people. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Menu seem little overwhelming with so many items.. But their seafood stuff looked good but bit on the high end for price. Menudo was more white then Rojo but broth was nice and clean tasting. Darn tripes were cut way too big for my liking. It was a large piece to shove in your mouth haha. Burrito had shredded meat and it was also yummy. The meat was very tender and wifey said it had little bit of citrus flavor. I did not eat a big enough bite to tell but what I tasted was yummy. Beans and rice was also yummy. If I happen to drive through here I would definitely come back here. Oh not to mention the inside devote was pretty darn cool.

We stayed 5.5 miles away, on the River Walk, made the leisurely return drive to Bonito once we saw the colorful frontage on an earlier foray into Bullhead City for necessary provisions once we RECOILED from the sky high prices at the Harrah's Tropicana (ex, $7.49 for a 20oz jar of Diet Pepsi). BG greets its guests with festive, brightly painted dark orange. We began our course with a titanic mango margarita. To their credit, they feature warmed bean dip topped with crumbled queso fresco as an accompaniment to their chips/salsa. Leti, after choosing BG for its seafood heavy menu, threw a curve and opted for a bowl of birria soup. I chose an Asada Chimichanga with a duo of asada tacos dorados. The tortillas are handmade and delicious! Both Leti and I marveled at the quality of the house Mexican rice, super fresh, fluffed and teeming with a light, florid tomato-dense taste complimented by Lima beans. Quite the refreshing departure from the bland rice dispensed by 90% of Mexican restaurants! My wife said that her Caldo de Birria was good...but that it wasn't super plentiful in meat. My chimi arrived golden brown with a heap of melted cheddar jack cheese bullseyed on the top. The interior is studded with asada, bell peppers and onions. First time I've ever seen bell peppers utilized inside burritos! The asada crunchy (dorado) tacos were generously stuffed with asada...but zero accompaniments like onions/cilantro/lettuce or tomato. I hadta redeploy the lettuce/tomato served alongside my chili, inside my tacos! If you're gonna charge $5/Taco at least send them properly attired! Gentle suggestion: Consider offering guests a side serving of fresh lettuce, tomato, diced onions and cilantro to dress up their tacos. Or, serve them with a ramekin of steamy birria broth... The mango marg was not "super sweet" (as our server Daniela had described) and we both thought it was stingy on the tequila, esp for its $16.99 belt, er, tab. Our bill was $86 incl taxes and tip for two entrees, a cocktail and a soda.
