I've never been to a Cracker Barrel. I wasn't really hungry but I needed to arrive at my destination later so I thought I'd stop in. I love chicken fried steak so I ordered it à la carte with extra extra gravy. It was perfect and so delicious I was suddenly hungry after my first bite. I was excited when my son and I arrived in the parking lot and saw the rocking chairs outside. It was my first visit in over 12 years. I've thought about the hash brown casserole for years and looked forward to satisfying my hunger for the potato casserole. I was extremely disappointed when I saw the "casserole" come to the table. Shredded potatoes?? What the heck? The waitress confirmed the recipe had changed. They were dry and unappealing. The waitress saw the displeasure on my face and asked several times if I wanted to replace them. I declined. I was really looking forward to the potato casserole. The restaurant ambience was as remembered and the staff were all very nice and friendly. My son enjoyed his food as he had the 4 piece fried chicken dinner with three sides. Note the sides are much smaller as I remembered them to be. Mac n cheese was good but not the same. I guess costs and overhead are cutting into food quality. Sadly I won't be returning to any Cracker Barrel in any state, unless the original casserole recipe is brought back. But I'm one person and don't think the casserole will return. read more

The biscuits and cinnamon apples are my fave. Breakfast staples like eggs, bacon, and potatoes are tasty as well. The coffee is strong and good. The staff is really nice. I've always had a great experience when I come here, and it's usually during the holidays. I love the atmosphere too. It's very warm and cozy. I think it's adorable that they have a store where you can buy knickknacks, toys, collectible cards, jam, candy, and clothing. Parking was also a breeze. Comes with biscuits and gravy. Best gravy I've had, deep flavor and richness shines through the creaminess. Biscuits were a little pale but still quite moist, would prefer it to be a bit more golden. In general we had some braised beef with mash potatoes, fried cat fish with Mac and cheese, fired chicken with mash potatoes, okra. I've never been a Cracker Barrel before it seemed like a nice family oriented place until I went in the store and I was racially profile and hounded on like a hawk by some old lady who was following me around for 15 minutes while I was shopping thinking I was stealing, made the whole experience very unpleasant would not come here agian or if you do just go inside the restaurant don't go in the store. Haven't been here for about 6 months as we are just passing through. I'm so glad this location still has the same decor, great service and food. I think the only thing they did was add some new dishes. I had the Wednesday special of Creamy Broccoli Cheddar Chicken. It was outstanding. The chicken was smothered in creamy broccoli and cheddar and was very tender and moist!! The inside of the restaurant was just like I hoped it still would be: cozy and surrounded by the artifacts I have come to enjoy. I had feared the new CEO would destroy the atmosphere CB has had for years but this location was spared. The sterile uninviting changes I had seen in pictures did not prevail here. This is one of the better choices for food in Kingman and apparently quite popular. The parking lot was nearly full at lunch, yet the staff were on top of keeping things moving... no waiting. The front of this place is a giant emporium/"general store" of all sorts of things- memorabilia, knick knacks, trinkets, candy, pies, and variety of stuff. It is a little overwhelming. The dining room to the back is quite large, and it was bustling. It was amazing to watch staff delivering food, cleaning tables, and serving patrons in record time. Impressive! The interior is a kind of eclectic country motif, and while comfortable, the noise level is quite acceptable. The menu is broad and varied for many tastes, but think comfort food in general. I ordered from the lunch menu as the portions going by were enormous, for sure, from the regular menu. After ordering an iced tea, I got the chicken and dumplings with an included side of my choice, which I chose fried okra. The meal was OK, somewhat flavorless, with two large chicken pieces underneath a chunky hunk of flour dumplings and a light gravy. Actually, for the price, at $9.95, it's a bargain. The okra was good; small chunks of breaded goodness, not greasy. They also offer biscuits or cornbread and between us, we had both. Our server was marvelous and kept everything moving. Staff was friendly and nice, our server diamond was great she refilled our beverages often, and brought things out timely during the dinner rush. Compared to our last visit at another location this time it was a great visit. Food was grilled perfect and casserole wasn't dry. Cracker Barrels in general always have a great experience. I have been to many locations throughout the country (mostly the South), and they seem to all have that down home southern feel to them. If you are familiar with them, one of the highlights is the general store. As a Halloween fanatic, I love this place for their Halloween decorations. Many of which already sell out by June. As far as the restaurant goes, the food is great. I am not a big fan of basic American food, but this place is an exception. In particular, I love this place for breakfast. Service in the restaurant at this location can be a little slow. Just keep that in mind. Service is always great at this location, whether it is the general store, or the restaurant. I have noticed that the service in the general store, in particular, is amazing. They literally treat you like a Tiffany's customer. Always look forward to coming here when I drive through Kingman. read more

What can I say about Cracker Barrel. It's a road trip kind of restaurant and just about everyone's been to a Cracker Barrel somewhere. Love meatloaf and fried chicken, mashed potatoes and all .. then this is the place. While this one was in Kingman NV, we've got one coming to Reno soon. Plus you've got your burgers and sammies. And, breakfast is served all day. But be hungry when you get there. I think I ordered a grilled cheese and fries from the Kid's menu (Menu says Kid's of All Ages), and it was more than enough to eat. However, I did have a spiked lemonade with it (a little too sweet). I wasn't driving! And, of course, it includes The Old Country Store, where there is something for everyone, even if you don't need it! LOL But, really, I love looking around their gift shop, it's the best. read more

Why you walked in there was nobody there to greet us or to us. We had to wait there for a while and then when we finally got to sit down the waitress took her sweet time to get our orders. Our food did come quickly, but the waitress f kept forgetting things. Like my son's fries my mother son, shrimp and my husband's honey mustard. My food tasted flavorless. My husband didn't really like his food either my kids said it was OK. This is our third time at this Cracker Barrel and it will probably be the last because it's been the same thing all three times we've been there. This review marks my first time at a Cracker Barrel ever and if every Cracker Barrel experience is on the same level then I'm looking forward to visiting more of their locations. I've never heard particularly good things about the chain so I never had a reason to try it before. In fact, I had In-N-Out on my mind at the time and was slightly upset to have gotten outvoted. I didn't know this place was a store and a restaurant, but everything in the store appeared to be of decent quality. We were seated quickly and our server did a spectacular job making us feel welcome and knowing exactly what to recommend for my indecisiveness. I ended up ordering the chicken fried chicken with white gravy, sides of boiled carrots and fruit cup with a mix of biscuit and cornbread. The portion sizes are really big and I think I would've personally filled up had I not gotten any sides, but I had to try a bit of everything so I resigned myself to the high probability of ending up in food coma (which I did). Chicken fried chicken has been a bit of an obsession for me ever since I first learned about the dish. The funny name gets me to order it every time I see it on a menu, and even though it's quite literally just fried chicken it'll always be a tier higher than other fried chickens in my book. I wish there were more Cracker Barrel locations closer to me so I could get chicken fried chicken more often. read more
