Went here yesterday and service sucked ! Only good thing was the hostess. My server name was Krystal she had dreadlocks she never asked if we needed refills or Anything ! Appetizers cakes out 30 minutes late plus they were cold ! I also ordered the cheese fries as a app and that was cold as well. Cheese was so Old . For my dinner we got the shrimp and steak fajitas normally when I ordered chili's fajitas the streak would be cool completely through ! Not this time a lot of the pieces of steak had blood gushing out . She didn't even inform me of this or ask if I would like the steak cooked another way . Spent a lot of my time here in undergrad, I've been to this specific location and the smaller site at UTSA. Usually go for the lunch combo which consists of soup or salad, along with sandwich/fries or a different entree and side. However, they have a variety of different items to choose from on their menu if you're not feeling classics. Their honey chipotle chicken crispers are good, their chicken enchiladas, their chicken avocado sandwich with no bacon, their buffalo chicken ranch sandwich and also, the spicy Cajun pasta with chicken or shrimp is also very delicious my friend gets it almost every time. I'm not a big drinker so I've never had any of their alcoholic beverages, but I've heard good things about those too. I've been here 45 min and the AC has not stop blowing cold air for one second. Today is February 11 and the outside temperature is 44 degrees so why is the AC even on? Everyone in the bar area is wearing coats, sweaters etc except the staff. I had order to go food and I placed my order at 4:18pm and the pick up time was 4:50pm and I arrived to the restaurant noticed there was few cars waiting. At 5:30pm I called and asked what happened with my food and they said 10 more minutes. When I get my food it looks awful and I have order the same exact order in other restaurants. I called the manager and all he says is other managers are working. If you want to come back we can re do your order. The first employee who answered the phone was so rude she said were busy and were working hard. While I waited there was over 6 cars that drove in and immediately received their food. My husband and I went to this chili's for date night and it was disappointing. Our server told us she was running a bit slow due to recovering from an injury which is very understandable, however not once did she check on us after our food was brought to the table. We didn't get drink refills either and the table over next to us had to ask her who the server was since they had been waiting a while. Our food was also cold and the restaurant was noticeably dirty. Today I was craving some ribs and the Chili's baby back ribs song popped into my head. So I decided this is where I was going to order some ribs. First off I tried to place the order online..nothing wrong with the online site, but I wasn't able to order regular mashed potatoes. Only the loaded mashed was available. Now I'm really hungry and got home to only be disappointed. The ribs were tough barely any bbq sauce on the ribs. The broccoli was under seasoned; it had not flavor at all. The only thing that did deliver was the mashed potatoes. I have notice ever since everything has returned to normal, the quality of food has gone way down and the price has gone way up. I swear this food was not worth the money I spent on it. I know I shouldn't go to a place like Chili's to get ribs...I should stick to what I know won't disappoint. So disgusted by this meal. Last night we ordered to go and the sign says wait in your car so I waited about 20 mins. After calling several times and no answer. No one was coming out checking on cars. When he got to the table he only took our drink order and app..then he disappeared for 15 minutes and didnt come by until the app was ready, finally he took our order and it took ATLEAST 45 minutes for our food to come out. I ordered through door dash and didn't realize the "maggianos" I was ordering from was this new thing they are doing at Chili's. I know it's all the same company, but it's really not the same food you would get at maggianos. The food was HORRIBLE. Inedible. We both ordered chicken fettuccini alfredo and it came with a bread stick. The bread stick was literally as hard as a rock. Couldn't eat it. Even being 34 weeks pregnant and starving with hardcore cravings....couldn't physically eat it. The sauce tasted from a jar, not fresh, no flavor. The chicken was cold and had a horrible aftertaste. I ordered 3 plates and they messed up on two of them. I checked back on my online order to make sure I had ordered steak because I got shrimp instead on steak on my fajita order. The other plate was beef nachos and I got chicken nachos. When i called back from home and wanted to speak to the manager first they hung up on me and when I called back i was told a manager would call me back. I havent received a call back. "the times they are a changing" Well boys and girls it's official. Chili's has completed it's decade long transformation from a cozy burger and fry joint to a big marketing watering hole with mediocre food. I have personally witnessed this change from my days as a busboy hauling ten mugs at a time in two hands with 5 empty baskets stacked on top. Back then we served everything we could in a paper lined straw basket, had 3 huge vats of chili simmering slowly for use in practically every dish, had a one page menu atop the tables surrounded by walls and shelves lined with photographs of past chili cook offs with knick knacks and antique signs. The menu boasted hand crafted burgers with fresh cut seasoned fries and homemade pickles, a selection of big salads like chicken frisco and grilled tuna, a delectable sourdough chicken sandwich, beef fajitas with all the trimmings and the introduction to San Antonio of one of the greatest culinary treasures ever offered up -- the buffalo wing. There were no special sauce combinations or dipping sauces, there was but the one and only way to eat a wing available - cayenne pepper hot sauce with blue cheese dressing and celery stalks! Anything else was totally unnecessary. Today Chili's obviously spends more money on marketing than on quality. The menu reads like a Wayan's brothers script, a few predictable gems and whole lot of nonsensical filler. No more fresh cut fries, no more individually created burgers, chili that tastes of pure cumin and little else, chewy tasteless ribs and a whole lot of pictures of drinks and more drinks. Add a few arcade games and you have a Dave and Buster's. It's no wonder they spent so much effort on marketing disassociation from their eponymous namesake to a lighter less identifying thin green pepper which is exactly what the quality of the food and direction has become. thin and unidentifiable. read more

They're focusing on appearances instead of their food and hiking the prices while our eyes are turned by their fancy little gizmos. The Triple dipper has gone up nearly two dollars. This would be ok if the portions grew accordingly but, sadly, they've decreased visibly. At this particular store, the service is poor. The hostess didn't greet my family, and took over a minute to ask "How many?" In an accent so thick I could have had that for dinner and been better satisfied. Our waitress then took nearly 10 minutes to ask about our drinks. Food itself then took a fair while to appear. Just a sad day shift. Food tasted pretty good, though. my husband and I went to this location around 3:30pm on 10 Dec 14. We waited for at least five minutes after walking in the door before anyone bothered to acknowledge we were there. We ordered an appetizer that was good. However, when we received our main course, both meals were cold. I ordered the Shrimp pasta and the shrimp was so overcooked And touch that the fork wouldn't even go into it! I sent it back to be remade and had to put it in a to go box because my husband had finished his entire meal before they fixed mine. When we went to pay the bill using the kiosk, the "suggested tip" said it was 20%, but the amount shown was actually 25%. Chili's is usually a solid experience where we can go out with friends and everyone with different diets (paleo, carb free, etc) can find something they like to eat at a decent price. Sadly, after about 6 months not eating at this specific location, my husband and I have discovered that this particular Chili's has turned into the type of place you should steer clear of. First, let me outline a month ago - we ordered two burgers from Chili's to Go. I went to pick them up and had to wait. When I got home, I discovered that while my husband's burger was correct, mine was the SAME as his, which was a $5 cheaper burger. Also, both were very cold and poorly constructed, even for To-Go standards. With bad traffic and a long drive, I consigned myself to eating the incorrect order, since driving back for a correction would have cost me an hour. When I gave Chili's feedback using an online survey they sent me for the order, I was surprised that they fully apologized (from the district office) and sent me a full refund in the form of non-expiring coupons that we could use at any Chilis. Fast forward to tonight, when we went out with 4 other friends to this Chili's for dinner, assuming the dine in experience would be better. We ate at 5pm, well before the dinner rush, and the restaurant was in the 25-30% full range. We were greeted by our waiter "Thomas" after being seated very quickly. I say his name in quotes because unlike the other servers we could see, Thomas was not wearing a name tag. Unlike the other servers we could see, Thomas was also incredibly and undeniably high on some sort of drug. I'm talking red eyes, rushed and laughing speech, and the smell of weed. So, after taking our drink orders, Thomas disappears for around 15 minutes. When he did finally return, he had his hands full not only with our orders, but several tables. Upon reaching us, he declared that he forgot what we ordered AND which sodas were which. Thankfully, the game of "guess that drink" was sorted out without any mix ups. He then disappeared again for some time before coming back to take our orders. Now, we had a simple order - no appetizers, two of the meals came with appetizer salads, and only one small side substitution from one of the dishes and bacon added to a burger. Nothing fancy or demanding. Cue to one hour later when our food finally came out, all at once. Mind you, in this hour we only saw Thomas once, when he refilled my water, but for some reason no one else's at the table. No other waiters or managers were visible this hour. So, what did our food look like? Well, the Guacamole burger was served without guacamole OR bacon. The Salmon dish had the salad that was a substitution (not as an app, with the meal) but was completely missing the broccoli that it was supposed to have and the salmon was BURNT to an absolute crisp on the bottom. The steak that was supposed to be Medium was completely rare in the center (moo) and the Buffalo chicken on one of the salads and a soup with another dish were both noticeably cold. Over HALF of our food went straight back to the kitchen. No apologies (except from a female waitress who helped carry out the food and looked mortified when she overheard the mistakes). Now, it took close to a half hour for the food to return - the steak wasn't replaced, it was simply re-charred (up to medium, but now all dry) - the broccoli came out before the salmon - the burger was a bit rougher for wear after getting the guac and bacon it needed. The rest of us were so hungry after an hour wait we ate our cold food. The kicker - a manager saw ALL of the food issues when it came out, and never said a THING. Not an apology, not even an acknowledgement that anything wrong happened. Then, when we got the bills (we were splitting the bill) from Thomas, he was joking, laughing, and telling us what a great waiter he was for being able to group our orders correctly. Except he didn't, so everyone had to correct him on what went together. Also, he double charged one of the bills after taking over 15 minutes to cash us out (from the register RIGHT NEXT to our table) and had to redo it. Needless to say, between the botched To-Go order, horrible service, and lack of any responsibility by management, we have no intention of frequenting this specific Chili's ever again. I am more than willing to go to other locations, but unless you want substandard service and food, Avoid this location like the plague. read more
