Used to go here for a quaff or two back in the day (2016- ) @ about 1500 hrs. Got to know the bar staff pretty well. It was a well run bar and and I oft told Lisa that a clean bar was the sign of a warped mind. Then suddenly, Lisa, et ux were gone and the place went to hell! So I stopped going! New hires, no bar customer interaction/conversation. The place got dirty and smelly and my Wife could tell where I'd been. "Put those clothes in the laundry, you've been to Chili's!" Went there last week just to see if things had changed; NOTTA G/D BIT! There was a "smoked" smell in the air and it wasn't BBQ! I had a couple of brews and checked the place out. DIRTY! Not much to do in Sierra Vista so after a day of car shopping with my friend we decided to grab a bite to eat, after driving down Fry boulevard the only major street down in Sierra Vista, we stumbled across to Chili's, and I was very glad that we did, I never used to like guacamole, being that most places don't quite get it spicy enough, I was pleasantly surprised with Chili's we got the table side guacamole; which by the way it was absolutely delicious and spicy to our liking. our waiter Chris was awesome he was very attentive and helpful, also suggested a few items that we should try which we were very pleased with, it is a nice casual and friendly environment, food was brought up quickly and very hot I definitely would recommend this to any people I know in Sierra Vista & I'll definitely come back again, we wanted dessert but we were too stuffed maybe next time! read more

TERRIBLE MOST AWFUL VISIT TO A CHILIS I'VE EVER HAD!!! First off we walk in with 5 people, 3 adults 2 babies (2 and under). They seat us at a table we ask for 2 high chairs, the host Maddison comes back and says they only have one, we explained that this seating arrangement wouldn't work as you could obviously see our 2 small children could not even see over the table sitting in the chairs... then argued that a specific table wasn't available when we didn't care about a specific table we just needed somewhere our kids could sit... she then called the Manager David over who did and said absolutely NOTHING!! Whatever, our server got us sat and got us some booster seats, we're moving on.. then we put our appetizers in not even a minute later we went ahead and put in our entree order... we waited for at least 20 minutes for our appetizers, and as she sets them down she tells us our food is also ready.... I explained I wanted our appetizers first that was the point of ordering them first and Audrey had the audacity to put her whole arm across my face to point at the appetizers across the table with a SNARKY ASS ATTITUDE to say she was waiting on CHEESE FRIES!!!! I told her not to put her hand in my face or across my food and she walks away with an attitude, we then wait another 10 MINUTES to get our food she said was already done and waiting in the window.... At that point she then had David bring the food who did not apologize didn't say anything to try to correct the MANY terrible experiences we had, and then he sent Justin to finish us out.. Justin was the best part of that experience, although still not great. Unfortunately for him if we would have started out for him this would be a completely different post, but his coworkers and mangers ruined the entire visit. I did still tip Justin over 22% as he had nothing to do with our terrible experience, but it's sad to say some things never change and this Chilis will always remain this bad.. they did end up comping off the two appetizers that were under cooked and our cheese fries that were burnt, but no apology nothing. Honestly, not sure why this place only has a 2.5 star average. Our dinner here included the best service we've received since moving to Sierra Vista 3 months ago. Everyone from the hostess to the manager were working their butts off to make things run smoothly. Our booth was situated near the kitchen, and a dedicated staff was putting together to-go meals, also working hard the whole time we were there. I ordered their Caribbean Grilled Chicken Salad which had 4 1/4 inch strips of burned dried out chicken, 4 small mandarin oranges and 2 1/2 pieces of white dried out pineapple. At $11.49 this was totally unacceptable to actually leave their kitchen and bypass their waste can. My husband ordered a Bowl of the Original Chili which filled a 1/4 cup dry measure and a Bacon Avocado Grilled Chicken Sandwich which would have been fine had the bun not shattered when he tapped it on his plate. Bowl of Chili $5.29 and his sandwich $11.39. Our total bill with various charges $42.40. We should have gone to Wendy's and at least had a decent meal compared to this garbage. I'm kind of torn. The service is good, but the chips are coated in grease (oil) and at least half were soggy. We asked for a new basket, but even those had greasy, soggy chips lining the bottom. Just not good at all. If they are going to screw the chips up this badly, they should buy them pre-made. The food came to the table, and it again did not impress. I ordered fajitas with rice and beans, and the rice was hard. They also had tortillas that were not that good, small, thick, and chewy. There are many Chili's in Washington but this is the first one I ventured into due to my friends. They told me it's like Applebee's but way better. I have to say, that is a pretty accurate statement. I don't care for either but I'd much rather go to a Chili's than an Applebee's. Our server was kind and quick. I ordered a burger, my friends got ribs, another got chicken, ribs, and corn. The wait time on food was average. In the meantime, we snacked on an appetizer with the nachos, medium wings, sliders, and egg rolls. The nachos were decent, the sliders were good because the meat had a good amount of flavor, wings were good, and the egg rolls were gross. Very oily and I didn't care for the filling.My burger was pretty tasty, no complaints. My friends food were good and we all left with a small box of left overs. Overall, it was a great lunch. This restaurant uses magic gift cards that only function when brought indoors by the customer. I had a gift card I wanted to use on a Friday night, so placed an order online for curbside pickup; we're in the middle of the COVID epidemic still, and I'm avoiding indoor spaces as much as possible. Got all the way to checkout, when it told me if I wanted to use a gift card, I had to change the delivery selection to "Customer Pickup" from "Curbside Pickup" and to select "Pay at Restaurant". I did so, thinking this was just some quirk they had coded in the website for their gift cards, placed the order, and drove to the restaurant a few minutes later. The Curbside pickup locations are NOT clearly marked; after circling the restaurant a couple of times I parked in a "Chili's to Go" spot, as this seemed to be the only space available that wasn't a normal parking space. I waited. And waited. And waited. Nobody was monitoring the spaces. I called the number on my order and got a pre-recorded message that told me someone would be right out; that parking and waiting in my car was the way to go. I waited some more. And some more. Meanwhile, a steady stream of people were walking into the restaurant and walking out with bags of food. I called again, and this time chose the option to speak to someone. The person on the phone, while pleasant, told me they "weren't allowed" to take payment at the curb, and specifically could not bring my gift card inside and charge it, and bring out my food, even if it meant I would not pick up the order. If I wanted my food, I would have to go inside the restaurant. I went to Burger King instead. If this was some kind of anti-theft protocol, it's pretty dumb, because I left the food to be tossed out. But I don't see how it possibly could be, anyway. What did they plan to do, record my ID? Take my picture holding up the gift card? Run a background check? Every other restaurant I've purchased pickup from recently -- Applebee's, Burger King, Subway, Papa John's, Panda Express, Domino's come to mind -- have mastered the technology in which someone is able to pay online with a gift card. But not Chili's. Apparently they use magic gift cards that are non-functional until carried through the Doorway of Sorcery by the customer. read more

Now chilis does not have menus. You are expected to take your phone, take a picture of an icon and pull up the chilis menu. I just want to go to a restaurant and be handed a menu(doesn't matter if it is throw away paper or the old multiple pages).....that's my generation....I guess chilis doesn't want the older generations business.....Hope they can survive on the young and youngest generation with this concept. Also the food and service at this location is average at best. Burgers are always over cooked significantly and service is the basics at best. Management should really rethink their approach to the CUSTOMER or they will be out of business like so many others in these trying times. This place ripped me off big time and I will never go there again. I was supposed to get 5$ off my bbq ribs because of a "reward". It literally took an hour to pay the check, which the rude and obnoxious waitress (Mandi Lynn) set up for me on the computer. When I paid it, it did not accept the reward. After she informed me that she had other customers and could not take time for this, she had the manager "fix it". However, when I checked my bank account I realized it was never taken care of. I know 5$ isn't a lot, but it's the idea that they are either inept or intentionally ripped me off. My wife and I went to the Sierra Vista AZ Chilis tonight(9-19-21) for dinner and I ordered a ribeye steak dinner with ice tea and there was a slice of lime floating in the bottom of my tea. 1st there was hardly any color to the tea and I there wasn't any tea flavor. My wife ordered a hot tea and the tea bag was already in the water in the cup upon arrival(new or used tea bag?) When my supposed Ribeye arrived-it was definitely not a ribeye-more like round steak or sirloin and you could tell by the livery taste it had been cooked in the microwave and thrown on the gill to get a little browning-(years ago I was a steak cook at a high end steakhouse-I know the difference) The plate that my food was delivered on was all spotty and I wasn't sure it was clean. When I told the waitress when she came with the computer for me to pay and by the way only offered 2 options receipt with my email or no receipt-I informed her of my dissatisfaction and she only continued with asking if I knew how to use the computer to pay. Chili's year ago when living in El Paso and one of the very 1st stores opened-and my friend Ric Lara even designed their logo- was my favorite but this will be my last trip there to the Chili's in Sierra Vista at least. We keep Chili's rated in the middle for many reasons. They have zero consistency on employees, and the food is a hit-or-miss scenario. Additionally, checkout with cash can be a real challenge as the waitresses/waiters are incredibly slow by thinking that everyone uses the tabletop kiosks and all are comfortable with them. We hate the kiosks as they are always sticky and disgusting and seldom cleaned (which makes us wonder about tables, glasses, silverware, etc.) and they always sucker us into paying far more for the tip than we intended. Food is a whole different story. We love the chips and dip, but one time we received a basket of super oily and saturated chips that were in huge clumps and literally disgusting. We barely touched them, and the waitress did not change them out when we mentioned their disgusting condition. When we get a 'good' waitress, we get the chips and/or additional chips and salsa to take home with us. The lesser waitresses simply give you a bag whether you have a lot of chips left or barely a hand full. Again, this is the lack of consistency we so dislike. Secondly, getting a military discount is an additional pain as we have to jump through hoops to make sure we get it. Why, we don't know? Especially considering Ft. Huachuca is just down the road and it is primarily a military based city. Then there's the food. Sometimes it's good and hot and outstanding. Other times it's missing bits of necessary condiments, the tortillas are overcooked and hard or the additional dollop of sour cream requested has been forgotten. Tracking down a waiter after service is, well...good luck! We understand how busy they can be, but what about checking up on current clients? And yet another gripe would be drink refills. Drinks are part of the biggest charges on most bills lately, so a refill should be an added must. More than once we have walked away without refills. If a beer is ordered, they are Johnny on the spot to ask about a refill, but teas and sodas, forget about it. Back to the food. I enjoy the fajitas, and I always get the trio, but more than once my tortillas arrived so hot that they have blended into one giant tortilla that cannot be separated. Their tortillas are barely tolerable, and it's just our opinion that as a fast food Mexican restaurant they could upgrade to a more decent and tasty tortilla. Only because as a child I was raised in AZ as a native and made tortillas side-by-side with our Mexican babysitter. So I know a good tortilla from junk. Chili's has junk! The quality of the tortillas can make or break a good fajita. The fajita mixes and ingredients are usually quite good, especially the peppers and caramelized onions. But, their steak at times can be so tough it's like leather and absolutely tasteless to boot. We raise our own beef, pork, lamb, and chicken, and we know restaurants do not provide healthy organically grown and grass fed meat, but gee, what about some flavor and a little marinating so the meat can be a wee bit tender? Is that too much to ask? Their chicken fajitas are probably the best for that very reason. We always end up with a bill around $50.00+ and with tip, it's closer to $60. They keep increasing prices but reducing portions and quality of the food and service. Our son is an executive chef of fine dining institutions in Tucson, AZ. He has had this prestigious position for over 15 years now. So we follow his advice closely when we dine out. Nobody is more anal about cleanliness than he. He has warned us about the chain for Chili's and the lack of cleanliness, and we do end up with sticky icky menus, sticky seats and tables every time we visit. Silverware has been shoved aside by us more than once due to food on forks. Why do we still go? It's the only Chili's available without having to drive clear to Tucson. So convenience. Would we recommend this one? Only on a desperate moment when Jonesing for a Mexican dish, otherwise settle for a fast food burger, like we do. It's cheaper and faster. read more

What a year makes, along with a revised menu and possibly new management. I've stopped by a few times for lunch and am very pleased to say that SV Chilis has come a long way. Customer service is fast, nice and on it... sit in the bar area... the food has always been fresh and hot vs Luke warm from the very first visit. New menu items have also played a key in bringing folks back in. Kudos for adding healthier choices. Side note. With all the Mexican restaurants around, I'm surprised to say, this place rocks the fajitas. I always get the combo and it's good! Don't be shy and ask to sub the regular rice/beans with quinoa. We stopped at this Chili's after a grueling 10 Hour Drive. In all fairness we arrived at 9:15 PM, 45 minutes before closing time. We were seated in the bar area for their convenience, I guess. I just wanted to order some soup but I was told that they had already started to close down and therefore they had no soup or dessert of any kind. After we placed our order we waited a really, really long time to receive our food. This was odd because there were only three other parties in the entire restaurant. I assume they had let kitchen staff leave early as well. The food was OK, typical of a food chain restaurant. Our server was pleasant. The problem I had with our experience was basically that they had started to close down before the closing time. We were forced to sit in the bar area, many food items that should have been available were not because they had started to close down. In addition , the food took a really long time to arrive due to manpower issues. When one goes to a place like Chili's restaurant, the expectation is that they will represent the brand as long as they are open for business. I don't think they should begin their closing process until the official closing time. So we've been in Sierra Vista for about a year now and we've actually ate at this location several times prior to tonight with zero issues. After tonight, I will never come back to this location. Upon entering the restaurant we had to wait about five minutes before being acknowledged by the hostess. After being seated, we noticed that three parties around us had issues with their food that had to be returned to the kitchen. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and undertrained on her menu tablet when taking orders. When we asked for refills, our waitress had to reconfirm our drinks three times before heading into the kitchen to get refills. When the refills returned, they were wrong. After about 45 mins, we received our food. My child ate several bites of his food and refused to eat the rest due to the cheesy chicken pasta having a sour taste. Also, my fresh-mex chicken bowl just looked "thrown" together with old avocado slices. Overall, just a bad experience there tonight. My hubby and I do not like to dine-in yet due to COVID, so I do take-out. Have not done take-out at Chilis for many months because the food was so bad when we got it home, but today was definitely the worse. First of all, Chili's has had the worst service in Sierra Vista since we've lived here for 20 years. That has not changed. My order was supposed to be ready at 6:45 and that's when I arrived and sent a text that I was there with my parking space #. A message popped up saying my order had been picked up, so I called. I was told it was being bagged, and it would be right out. I had my dog in the car with me, so I didn't want to go in, but after waiting fifteen minutes, I left my dog in the car and went in. My order was sitting on the counter while there were two people behind the counter. They handed me my order, and I left. The nachos were burned black on the bottom and cold of course. Chili's has changed their entire menu......for the worst. Not sure when the change was done, as we don't come here often, but when we wanted a good burger, this is where we went. No more. The new menu was hard to read, with lots of changes. A basket of onion strings are now a plate of about 7 "Cajun spiced" onion rings...that are horrible. The regular burgers are no longer available....must get a potato bun, and it comes with so much "crap" on it, that its impossible to pick up and eat, as it falls apart from the sauces and moisture. I was on crutches due to ankle injury, and having a hard time using them. We made it into the restaurant and waited. And waited. And waited. No one greeted us or even acknowledged we were there. We saw a couple of servers, but they didn't even look our way. After waiting for 5-10minutes, we left. So once again I had to use my crutches to get to the car and out again at the next stop. Yes, it was a big deal because I hadn't learned to use them yet and it was difficult. We went to Olive Garden, which was amazing. The staff opened the doors, made sure I had a table quickly so I wouldn't have to stand, and one fairly close to the doors, all of which I didn't even ask for. I greatly appreciated their attention.
