I came for dinner tonight with my friend, and there was a wait. We ended up sitting at the bar so we didn't have to wait for a table. The bartender, KJ, was really funny and energetic! Our service was very slow overall, and it took forever to get all of the things that we ordered. We didn't get chips and salsa, until at least half an hour after we had been sitting there, and then our food came out probably another 45 minutes after that. Thank goodness, we were talking forever, but it was kind of unreal how long it took! When we got our food, mine was actually pretty room temperature and not warm at all.

Second time here. Not one of my top Mexican spots in Tucson... This was is well known for fresh made salsa and guacamole. Which always good. We had a large party of 11 of us. We waited 35 minutes for the salsa lady. Chips and waters were brought to us early.. we were starving. Food was okay! By the time our food got there we were full of chips and salsa! Service was nice. His name was Luis, he forgot something for others. Even other employees I met while there were nice as well. Loved the ambiance inside. So much going on. One thing was annoying was a lot of the portraits were crooked on the wall haha a little funny.

Authentic Mexican spot from decor to food. Sat at the bar so we can watch the game. First time I was at a place for table side guac AND salsa which were both delicious. Margarita is solid portion in huge cup Chicken was the best and great portions. Service was well received quick and social too. Will be back if in the areas

Walked in shortly after 6pm on a Friday and sat at the bar since I was sola. Ordered Pollo en Mole with flour tortillas with water to drink. I really like the mole here. It took 45 minutes for my meal to get to me! I was served after three other customers who came in after me. The server who took my original order was not the same one who later dropped off my plate. While my meal was good, service was below standard as my server never checked in on me, never refilled my water, never asked if I wanted anything else. And the odd thing was how my server held the credit card reader while I signed it. She held on to the pad and my card while I signed. Was she expecting me to run off without paying? She did not make me feel welcome. I left at 7pm as the crowd started coming and the bar filled up.

Guadalajara's is a Tucson gem! Definitely a great spot for authentic Mexican food. I get the steak fajitas (which come sizzling straight off the grill) and their regular and frozen margaritas are also superb. Service is exceptional. You're also provided fresh salsa and chips before every meal! The only thing that took away from the experience was that there was a market outside and the speakers were blasting music extremely loud near the entrance.

One of my favorite items to order at Guadalarjara is the steak fajitas! They come out sizzling from the kitchen and are delicious. The tableside salas is made to your preference and don't forget to bring cash to tip the person making it. Service was great and our food came out after a reasonable amount of time. There is plenty of indoor seating. It can get loud during the dinner rush but it was quiet during lunch.

If you need a place for a wonderful time and Mexican food. This is your place. The ambience is amazing. Customer service is top-notch. Nothing like having someone make you fresh salsa at your desire spiciness right in front of your table.

Super fun atmosphere. Right away we were greeted with an option for fresh salsa and guacamole. Both were some of the best I've ever had. We all got drinks that we all liked and came right away. When it came to the food, it probably took 45min plus for it to arrive, so I suggest getting an appetizer if you're hungry. Once the food arrived, it was tasty. I got the filet mignon fajita and it was super tasty. My wife got the lobster enchilada with corn shell and absolutely loved it.

A true Margarita requires just three simple ingredients: tequila, fresh lime juice, and triple sec. No added sweetener necessary. A group of us were in Tucson for the weekend, and one of my my gal pals suggested we come here to relive her college days. $92 house margarita fountain? Okay! We ordered it and we shared it with the table next to us. It was a lot of rapidly-warming margarita to imbibe. I ordered the Plato Bandera ($20.45 - "Brilliant colors of the Mexican flag paired with the sensational flavors in enchiladas; pork verde chile, beef chile rojo, and a creamy white sauce chicken enchilada"; served with rice and beans). I really enjoyed my plate and all the flavors of the dish. Perhaps I had gotten full off slamming back margaritas, but I ended up taking home leftovers. And then my leftovers went home with someone else. One thing to note: I love that they do table-side salsa. That alone gives this place an extra star. Great place! I'd stop by again for sure.

I had a combo plate with carne asada, a chile relleno, and a chicken enchilada. Meh, yuck, and meh. OK granted, this is a week after I had the best carne at Charro's, but this carne was bland. The chile relleno had a thick, unappetizing coating and didn't taste good. After two bites I was done. The enchilada was OK, but nothing to write home about. The fresh salsa was very good. The guac was OK. The waiter was nice and friendly. Geez, you want good Mexican food, the kind that Tucson is famous for? Go somewhere else. (Check out my reviews.) 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Food here is not bad but not anything special, it was a 45 minute wait on a Friday evening. It took 40 minutes to get our food after we ordered, and the quality of food was not worth the wait. Ordered a margarita cocktail, was sooo sweet and tasted like lemonade. The portions here are huge!! I would recommend the mocajate mariscos, that was the most decent item we got! Also enjoyed the salad lady coming around and making fresh guacamole and salsa for us with chips.

Do they charge for chips and salsa?

No; the tableside chips and salsa is free (at least for the first order) - the ladies do have a tip jar with the cart and prefer cash tips, but a charge will not show on the bill for the chips and salsa

How do you make a reservation? Can't make Reservation for party of 10 online. Been trying to call for 2 days, no answer.

They do not take reservations. You have to show up and go on their wait list. They text you when your table is ready.

Has anyone had better luck as in flavor and taste than what we did at the one on Broadway?

Was this a one time thing ? I’ve never had any issues with their food.

My hubs suggested that we go to The Frida and see if we could get in. We drive over and guess what, we go lucky, must have been that everyone had a 4th of July hangover. We sat at the bar and couldn't be happier. Our server/bartender took great care of us, he offered us drinks, took our food order and made my hubby a really good Margarita, The Frida Margarita, he said it was bomb! I ordered a beer and it came with a chilled glass and lime wedge. We decided on the flautas and the mole enchiladas. Both fantastic, tasty and hearty! I got full with two enchiladas so I donated the third to my hubby, which he was super happy to eat. I have to say, the mole sauce was decadent and full of flavors. It really reminded me of my grandmas mole. It also left a delicious numbing (very slight) on my lips. Perfect balance of nutty, spicy, almost semi sweet goodness. Gorgeously prepared and looked almost too good to eat. Almost..... The place was full, we were still able to have a conversation. It was amazing. Will definitely be back to continue to enjoy the carefully curated menu. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed! This screams a great place to work and obviously enjoy. Well done La Frida! Well done!

Located in downtown Tucson, this iconic restaurant is full of character and beautifully decorated. We visited on a Saturday around 1 PM without a reservation and were told there would be a wait since the place was packed. They only have air conditioning in the indoor dining areas and basement, not on the outdoor patio. Luckily, we were seated in the basement, which turned out to be perfect. The service was commendable truly some of the sweetest and most attentive service we've experienced in a long time. We started with freshly made chips and salsa, which were an instant hit. For drinks, we ordered the El Tamarindo, Mangopeno, and Monica's Cafetini. For food, we chose the Vegan Jackfruit Taquitos Trio and the Fresh Corn Tamale Platter, which came with a side of squash. The drinks were excellent, with the Mangopeno being my favorite. But the real star of the meal was the tamale platter. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the table kept digging in and couldn't get enough. Even the squash side was so flavorful that we ordered an extra serving. The vegan jackfruit taquitos were a bit too deep-fried for our liking and didn't quite compare to the incredible tamales. To finish, we shared a caramel flan, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The pricing was very reasonable, the service was exceptional, and the food was memorable. We will definitely be back again if only for those amazing tamales!

I suggest asking the hotel check-in staff how to get to the main restaurant entrance. Additionally, I dropped a star as parking is a pain! You have to use a QR code to pay to park even though this restaurant is not in the downtown or metered parking areas. They have a validation code to use at the restaurant entrance to cover parking, but I could never get the online submission form to actually work. The ambiance inside the restaurant is very open with vaulted ceilings, large indoor and outdoor patio seating areas. They have giant windows overlooking scenic mountain views. Now the customer service from our waitress was stellar and the food was really good! For it being a weekend, it also was not very busy. The calamari and scallops seemed fresh, my husband enjoyed the prime New York steak, and the Thai tea chocolate cake dessert with honeycomb was a good combination of flavors. As it was a golf resort the prices, especially for drinks, are high. However, if they were to get rid of the parking fee and added some signage it would greatly improve things.
