This has to be the worst visit i've had at chilis. Have come multiple times before, never had a problem. I came in and was seated, waited about 10 minutes for a server to come up to the table and ask "did you guys get helped yet" once our order was placed, drinks came quick, but was given no straws or silverware like usual. Waited another 15 minutes for our server to come back and take our entree orders and ask for straws. Asked if we wanted more chips we said yes he took the plate and came back with it empty saying "false alarm we're out of chips their making more right now" and was not filled for the remaining of the service. Once we got our food our server came once.. and we never got napkins. Came time to pay the manager had to come up because it just seemed like our server forgot about us. Even had to ask another server about getting a box. Very disappointing dinner. read more

I had a wonderful time at Chili's in Chicago! The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was fast. The wings were good and my brisket burger was cooked perfectly and full of flavor--absolutely delicious! The restaurant was clean and welcoming. A perfect spot for a casual, tasty lunch. First thing first - they do Lemon drops right - just enough sour taste, but you will get a buzz off of just 1. I ordered the salmon with black beans instead of rice and steamed broccoli. We recently went to Chili's to check out the 3 for $10 deal, one of our family members told us about it and we wanted to check it out. We got to the restaurant, we were seated right away and our server got our drinks. We did not know that the 3 for $10 deal is limited on the selection, there were only three main entrees to keep it at $10. If you wanted something else there was an up charge. We got the old timer cheeseburger with chips and salsa, smash burger (comes with a thousands island dressing-taste like McDonald's Big Mac ) with soup, crispy chicken sandwich with more chips & salsa, and chicken tender kids meal. The chips and salsa were really good, was a good amount, and shareable. I loved all the decorations and the TVs were on with a football game. We thought the food was okay. At the end of our visit, it came time to pay. The kiosk at the table stopped working. We saw another customer get up to ask because they were having the same issue. I think the waitress was frazzled because we asked for to go box and completely forgot. We ended up asking her again for to go boxes. I dined at your restaurant on Friday evening August 2nd. This was not the typical experience that I am used to having at a Chili's restaurant. I stopped here on my way going home, since I was hungry. I entered the restaurant and never saw a hostess. Both my Fiancé and I decided to sit at the bar. I thought that the service might be better there. It wasn't heavily busy however I did notice there seemed to be a staff shortage. We weren't greeted right away by the bartender. It took probably 12 to 15 minutes. We just sat patiently and waited. There was a point where we thought about just getting up and walking out. The bartender was friendly and mentioned that one of his machines had broken down so he was having a rather rough night. We finally put our drink order in and then sat waiting to see a menu. We went on line to view the menu, prior to having one set in front of us. The bartender returned to take our order. We decided on the fajita combo with chicken and steak. We also added on the trio dips and chips. The food was set in front of us without any plates. This surprised me because how can you even begin to eat without the necessary tools to do so. This isn't a new restaurant. This has been here for a while. There were several coworkers standing around the bar just chatting. This was a turn off to me because honestly they should have been working. I might have seen the manager one time and I never saw him interact with any of the customers like some restaurants do. The bartender did check on us to make sure we liked our meal and to see if we needed a drink refill. I like Chili's however I would never return back to this one. I'm usually a diehard Chili's fan but this location has gone downhill and just overall after they have downsized their menu not as many options as I used to have and that's pretty sad. This location is doing their best but just beware they are short staffed so they have a longer wait time even though the restaurant looks empty. They have a limited amount of sections open. Our server was great very attentive. We got the 3 for 10.99 and they took some of the options off when they raised the price. Went to Chillis as a second choice, because the service is always below par. We sit at the bar and are looking at the menu. The bartender sees us as does not acknowledge our presence. After coming to us she says "let me get your id's" while we're in the middle of a conversation. She walks away then comes back and says the same thing. I asked her wouldn't we have to order a drink to have to show our ids what if we're just getting food. She says no, we give her our ids and she asks us are we ordering drinks. We then watch her make the drinks and barely put any alcohol in either. The ambiance was ruined and we left after one drink. I would best describe her as a bigger woman of white descent. Typically- super organizing, hosts out front, cheerful bartenders and servers. Food is normal bar food. This place gave Chili's a poor name. This is the worst Chili's I've been too and I travel all over. I got a appetizer of Southwest Spring Rolls (which I know I like cause I get them frequently) and they tasted like pure moosh. Like they were some cheap convenient store frozen box item to throw in the microwave. Then I got the Chicken Bacon Avocado sandwich and it was burnt. Again, I know what this is supposed to taste like but instead it tasted like burnt crumbs and the chicken was too rough to chew. Walked in, got seated right away. Appetizers came out super quick and was delighted. The fried pickles were amazing and the cheese curds filled my cravings I had been having for ah while. I did think the cheese curds were a little salty, but I still thought they were yummy. The margarita flatbread was amazing and had a hint of lime to it. I loved the old timer burger, as well as the buffalo chicken sandwich. The buffalo chicken was nice and spicy and the bun was so warm and toasty. Our server was super nice and friendly. Seriously save yourself the time and headache and go to the round lake location. Every single time we order take out it's messed up. We went to eat in last week and sat for 20 minutes before we decided to just get up and leave. The person next to us had her meal brought out and then chips and salsa. My girlfriend and I always eat at the chilis in Gurnee, but today since we were closer to this one we went here for the first time. We walked in and as we waited at the front we saw two employees doing nothing besides talking to each other and staring at us. As soon as BRAD behind the bar saw us he jogged over and sat us down. The lady who got us our drinks was very kind and Brad came and took our order. He had so much energy. The great energy and huge smile that he had made it impossible to not smile back at him and absorb his super positive energy. He was EASILY the best server I have ever had and my girlfriend strongly agrees! He put in the effort to check up on us wayyy more than any other server we've had but he's so great it wasn't like it got annoying. When he noticed that my girl friends drink was running low he didn't ask if she wanted a refill he just asked what she was drinking and brought the drink over within 30 seconds. He was singing along to the music and it truly made me sad to see that one of his superiors was saying "hey!" to get his attention and when brad looked over at him he was turning an imaginary volume knob down; telling brad to quiet down. I personally loved him singing along to the music. Brad made us feel so welcomed. We will be going to this chilis instead of the Gurnee one just for Brad. As I browsed through the menu, I couldn't help but to think of the Chili's Jingle Song - "I Want My Baby-back Ribs" and I all of a sudden I found myself singing it silently in my head! Well that was a no brainer. I ended up ordering the half rack of ribs with homestyle fries. The place was fairly full and service kept up with the demand. Besides the traditional menu, I noticed that every table had this wireless portable gizmo on it where you can browse and order anything on the menu via touch screen. It was pretty neat! It even offered games and other fun stuff. You even had the option to slide your credit card to pay your check and it prints out a receipt. I was wowed. I wonder what the wait staff thought about this electronic waiter gizmo? I'm sure it's not good... Anyhow our food arrived in a timely manner and my Baby-back ribs with Shiner Bock BBQ Sauce were tasty good. At the end of dinner I opted to pay the old fashion way and handed my card to our waiter. Actually pretty solid dish but not fantastic. My friend had the RIBEYE STEAK- 12 oz. Was undercooked and flavorless. Also the most expensive item on the menu at $18. My friend sent it back (gasp) as I winced praying there would not be any disgusting retribution. He asked for it to be cooked a little more and to add some cajun seasoning. That's the ticket- ORDER THE RIBEYE WITH CAJUN SEASONING if you want any flavor because the meat is bland. For $1 more, the jalapeño MAC N CHEESE is the best side dish. I forgot to defrost the pork chops yesterday so we were in panic mode for dinner when I arrived home late. Chili's is close to our house -- and a place we *never* go. We did a To Go order a few weeks ago that was palatable so we decided to stop in and give it a try last night. First of all, it's oddly dark inside. I'm not sure if the lack of lighting is cost savings or ambiance, but it was weird. And I am fully aware that I sound like my grandmother complaining about the lack of light in a restaurant. Service was pretty terrible. It took almost ten minutes for a waiter to greet us or take our drink orders. Every time he came to our table after that, it was as though we were an annoyance or inconvenience. I also -- oh, God, I really am my grandmother -- don't understand the Ziosk screens on the table. You can't order from them. I have the same menu in front of me in printed form. And there was some dude across the aisle watching movie previews on what I have to assume was top volume while we tried to have a conversation. All of that said, the food was good. We shared the steak fajitas for two and chips and salsa. Chips were fresh and salty; salsa was good. The steak fajitas could have used more seasoning, but they were good for what they were. Tried again for the third and last time, I ordered the smokehouse combo and talk about a disappointment. The food was so bad that I will have to drive 30 minutes further to go to a better Chili's. The ribs were hard and dry, and the chicken crispers were small old and chewy. The garlic toast was hard, and the street corn wasn't made correctly. I was told that the street corn cheese was discontinued even though it's still on the website and on the menu. The biggest disappointment was hearing James the manager, complain about customers and telling his staff that he is not keeping the business open any longer than he has to, and that people should not be coming in here at 10:30 pm and expect to be seated at a table. A family came in around 10 PM while I was having my dinner when James, the manager walked over to them and treated them so poorly that when the customer tried speaking to him, he turned his back and walked away. The service was great for a Friday afternoon, this Chilis was the nearest one to Zion according to the app, we were quickly seated and the waitress quickly took our orders. She brought us our chips and salsa, very good paired with sweet tea. I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs and needless to say I was amazed how tender and flavorful they were, I haven't had ribs like this from Chilis for quite some time!
