For the blueb sundae I love the fresh blueberries, pudding and crumb topping. It's very nice for a fruit ice cream just wish the ice cream was more flavorful. Order online for easier pickup as there is only 1 screen to take orders at and no seating inside. Quick service. Has picnic tables outside to sit and not too bad to find parking on the street. Has some little tables but limited and twinkly lights at night. Dairy Freeze is one of those iconic neighborhood establishments that has been putting smiles on people's faces for decades. Great ice cream, friendly service, and a little dose of nostalgia made this an unexpected highlight of our evening. I'm so glad we stumbled across it, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Quincy looking for a sweet treat.

Wonderful local area ice cream place! I stopped by during the grand opening and snatched a kitten sized chocolate chip ice cream. It absolutely was $3.15. I probably should've gotten a moderate size as it was just a dollar more. I will likely do that next time. The ice cream was fabulous! It was loaded, smooth and creamy. We are from out of town and googled ice cream places near the Franklin park zoo. Chill on park came up first so that's where we headed. Not only was the shop immaculate and the ice cream delicious, but the guy who scooped our ice cream was very accommodating. We came in with three indecisive kids, and he was patient with our order, and took extra care to thoroughly clean the scoop before scooping the ice cream for our gluten free child. Service was terrible. The people working seemed like they didn't want to be there, the hot fudge was machine was broken and the fudge was old and stale yet they still gave it to me as a topping. When I asked to have it removed (just the fudge), after waiting for a while with no interaction I was given attitude and so I left. I don't know where the owners found this employee but they could be out of business soon. read more

What a wonderful ice cream parlor and coffee shop! I went in today and tried the black raspberry chip ice cream and froyo. Both were delicious and the ice cream was incredibly creamy. The interior decoration was friendly and inviting! I loved the wall of plants which gave the space quite the attitude. I arrived around 2:30 and noticed that some of the croissant pastries were already sold out. I decided to opt for the seasonal croissant and I was surely not disappointed. The cross section looks great and the jam/filling on the inside does have texture so it's not smooth purée which was a nice change of pace. I didn't get to try any of their drinks but judging from what I saw at the other tables, I really need to try it next time. There is a self area on the left side of the store where there are utensils and the handles of the knives were HOT when I went to get one so you can definitely rest assured that these are cleaned frequently (but do be careful). There is complementary lemon infused water and the disposal area near the restrooms. Noise level wise-- it is not a super big cafe and tables are seated close to each other and it can get loud when the coffee machine does its thing but overall I would say it's a pretty good location to have a little with a friend.
