Over the weekend, met my girls and their friends for lunch at Chimi's on Cherry Street. The wife had a really outstanding beef quesadilla, and her friend had stellar carne asada street tacos. I went with the enchiladas chile verde and came away very happy. Probably not the best in town (my opinion), but certainly in the top 3 or 4 to be sure. Service was great, drinks were kept filled and I felt prices on the menu were very on point. Can't say what the damages were because I had to leave before the check got there, but I suspect it was pretty reasonable for the quality of food we got.

For time trying this restaurant. It was just an okay restaurant! The atmosphere and service were good and at the lunch hour I felt our server did a good job. We greeted and given chips and salsa and then we ordered a side of yellow queso. Our options were yellow or white. My lunch partner had been here before and recommended the yellow. It wasn't to my liking, I just didn't care for it. I did manage to eat my fair share but it just seemed off. And a small bowl was $7.99! Not with it in my opinion. Looking through the loch menu I wanted something different and a chose the Wet Burrito with shredded chicken. It was a rather large burrito but I did manage to finish it. My objections to this meal was that is it was just warm enough to eat. I anticipated a temperature hot burrito and it fell way short of that. The overall flavor was good but it needed to be hotter. My partner order a 3 Enchilada dinner which he described as delicious and almost too much to eat! Overall it wasn't a bad experience and if in the area again I'd give it another!

Cute place, great food and good service. Was visiting from California and the cousins took me here. I got Flautas and they were absolutely delicious. Margarita was good, black beans and rice - good! Would return when I'm in town again.

    Chimichangas was here.

Good food. Fast service. Very authentic. Chips and salsa were good. Overall good, could be more spice.

Ambiance: A lot bigger inside than you'd think, minimal decor, with plenty of seating. Service: Had a pleasant experience from the moment we walked it. Had no wait time and was able to order immediately. I ended up ordering the wrong thing and was able to get my replacement fast and without struggle. Food: I initially ordered the chicken tostada but opted to change to the chicken taco salad, which was delicious, the perfect amount, and flavorful. I also tried the apple cider Margarita, which kind of fell short, though tasty I couldn't tell it was apple cider flavored.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Super good & great service! Love the fajita chicken chimichanga topped with white queso! Clean and the welcoming atmosphere makes for a great experience! We drive from Owasso to eat at Chimi's! Check it out- you won't be disappointed! Love their white queso & salsa as well!

Standard Tex mexi I would call it Nice spot for pre-game haha chips and margaritas!!! Parking is tight due to being close to NOLA and cherry street so good luck. Never super busy or had to wait. Bar seating is my option with big screens available

Started with white queso, which has a hint of spiciness and is so creamy, the chunky guacamole, and two different salsas - mild and spicy. Of course, you have to try one of their margaritas, and they have so many fruit options to add in! We got the raspberry and mango, both equally delicious. The main course included the chicken & steak fajitas with all the fixins! Also had the street tacos platter with carne asada and chicken. I love that you don't have to choose just one protein for the fajitas or tacos because my indecisive self can't handle that! My favorite items were definitely the fajitas and raspberry margarita, but everything was seriously so good! Great prices and portion sizes with great flavors and service is very hard to come by these days.

This review reflects our visit on 15th St. @ 2:30 the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It must have been change of shift. The place was empty. But I was impressed by the crew working hard cleaning. Our waitress arrived with menus, took drink orders. Someone delivered cold, hard chips and 2 ramekins of salsa. It was so-so. The waitress returned with my margarita & I showed her where I checked in on my phone which entitled us to a free dessert. She said she would put the order in, what did we want? What do you have? She stumbled thro' what she thought they had, so we just ordered the sopapillas. (Fried ice cream would've been nice) I know that the Sonoran enchilada is no longer made properly but I ordered it anyway. (Did all this happen when Nancy G. sold? We long for the Chimis of yore [Former times]. Oh, the beginning days. . . And when we moved back from Houston the only tolerable TexMex was from Chimi selections. Like the Sonoran made properly; mum mmmm!) Hubby ordered the shredded beef Chimi which I was looking forward to having a bite. We both ordered regular rice, he refried beans, borracho for me, please. But when it came to sauces, *none* of us could find them listed on the VERY confusing menu. So much stuff crammed onto a very big, two-sided menu! Wouldn't it be better to make a few things really well? They're always good about bringing more salsa. Okay, we've established our waitress wasn't very knowledgeable. Still, it was confusing to look up and see someone else standing there! Even more confusing, with such mouthwatering anticipation, to rip into what turned out to be a GROUND BEEF Chimi! Why would anyone intentionally order such a thing? Hubby gave me a bite before we realized what had happened. It was awful. Burnt, too, IMO. But he didn't send it back (escape mechanism?). I noticed we were both drowning our entrees in salsa -- not a good sign. The rice was a tad dry and al dente. My beans were pretty tasty but I'm not sure what kind of meat was used because the texture was weird. Maybe I'll just make my awesome chicken verde enchiladas at home. I make really good black smashed beans too.

Celebrated what seems like (hopefully) the end of an era the other night by dining in for the first time in over a year... and I couldn't think of a better place to do that than Chimi's, an old family favorite. First of all, I can't believe it had been that long since I'd sat down in a restaurant - WOW! It was different, it was exciting, I was a little nervous, but I felt safe. Workers were masked, people were spread out, and clear shields were between tables/ booths when needed. I also noticed they did not have salt and pepper on the table - a little detail I hadn't thought much about but definitely seems like a good idea as another way to limit unnecessary contact with others. Oh, and most of all, for the first time in a long time things kind of felt normal again. Early on in the pandemic, I decided that I wanted Chimi's to be the first place I'd go back to dining in person. Part of this is because as mentioned, it's a favorite in my family so it just seemed fitting, but also because they have this burrito that no one else seems to have anything like it. So that seemed like a fun little "reward" for making it through. I even made sure to not do it as takeout this whole time just to make the occasion seem even more special than normal. The wait was worth it!!! The food came out warm, and doing takeout for a year, I never necessarily noticed that the food wasn't QUITE as warm as in the restaurant, but when I took my first bite I noticed a difference. And the wet burrito was full of its unique flavor, just like I remembered and hoped it would still be! I tried to actually think of what the flavor is this time, and I decided the sauce must be some sort of mix of tomato and red pepper with some other slightly spicy pepper too. It's so good. Another thing I decided to add to this celebratory dinner was a margarita. I think they have a smaller size option that I don't remember being a choice before. I ordered that, and at first it seemed like I'd want more/ should have gotten the normal bigger size, but it ended up being the perfect size for me! And the flavor hit the spot too! So happy (and relieved) to finally be at this point again, and I'm glad that just like me and all of us Chimi's made it through the year too... it was a great place to mark the occasion. Light at the end of the tunnel, people.

2nd time there. Excellent chimichanga shredded beef with white queso beans and rice

My husband and I went here before going to see a movie. It was pretty busy but we were able to be seated at the bar right away. He ordered a margarita and I ordered some sort of rum punch. I didn't really like it but that was more of a personal preference. It still seemed to be made well If light on alcohol. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and it was really good. They kept the chips and salsa flowing. My husband ordered the nachos and he really enjoyed them because he likes the stacked style. I'm sure we'll go here again because Cherry Street is right by our house!

    Flauntas were very dry

Went to Chimi's after getting married...the food was exceptional!! I had the pozole, my husband had The double chicken and steak fajitas, all wonderful. The only concern we had was the way the manager handled one of our guest's order. She wasnt happy with her food, only took one bite and asked for the order to be removed. The manager became Belligerent and Rude and argued with our quest and only decided to remove 5 dollars from her bill....UNACCEPTABLE!!!

We were literally told that it came premade and frozen and was "just fried." Obviously, he ordered the street tacos instead. We sat at the bar and it took a bit to get waited on but the manager jumped in and gave us water and silverware. I liked my Blackberry-Rosemary Marg but I honestly didn't feel like it had much tequila in it. The regular marg was just OK. Since it is a tequila bar and we sat at the bar, I would have liked to have discussed tequilas but my bad for not asking. Would have loved to have done a tasting. The menu was informative. As what was stated over the phone, the moment we walked in, we were seated. The place is very intimate in space, I'd recommend for dates. I went with the Enchiladas, something I've been craving for a couple of months & La Tertulia helped that fix. There were a few meats to choose from & I went with chorizo. The wait on the food wasn't long (people were starting to fill in as well & it didn't stop the servers from being on point) & the food was really good. Coming in with 3 enchiladas, stuffed with the chorizo & the fixins, I was left full after I finished. The spanish rice & pinto beans were good as well, paired good with the enchiladas. The chorizo looked more like breakfast sausage more than the chorizo that's more on the dark brown + reddish tint I'm used too. The enchiladas also come with chiles (I picked green) & plenty of cheese. Side Note: Chips & salsa were also super good, my favorite type of salsa. Kinda like a Taquera/Molcajete style. I was so hungry that the chips & salsa didn't slow me down from running through my main entree.

A note - some of the dishes are plain and include a protein charge. I'm not a huge fan, but I'm okay with it if it's explained. I was confused during my visit because my enchiladas listed a $2.50 protein charge, but the protein charge was for each enchilada not the plate, so my three enchilada plate was $7.50 more than it was listed because I asked for chicken. I don't necessarily feel cheated, however I was surprised when the server gave me the bill. $2.50 is one thing. $7.50 is a lot more.
