I absolutely love the black pepper chicken and imitation crab meat they have. I'm very picky so I don't usually eat a lot of their other foods.. although, they have great prices and tons of seating. Staff are very attentive about food needing to be rotated and swapped with freshly made food. I was treating my son Shawnathan to some Chinese after our mother son yoga class and we decided to attend the China Buffet. we got in there ready to grab food with our plates and most of the food looked nasty! I decided to go for the soup and I saw a unidentifiable soup. It looked like it had been sitting for hours! It was vile. I didn't eat any but Shawnathan insisted on trying it and we had to go to the ER later that night. Food poisoning is not it y'all! THEN it was time for dessert. We went for the ice-cream and the ice-cream scooper was in this cup filled with this disgusting water! I told Shawnathan no to the ice-cream and then we went to the cookies. They were the Great Value ones that I get from Walmart AND they were stale. Don't even get me started on how messing it was! definitely would not recommend. An early afternoon buffet. Recently was hit and mostly miss many of the hot entrees or warm at best and not very fresh the dumplings for the soup had a very odd taste. By the time I was ready to leave around 2:15 they brought out much fresher items that were actually steaming. The employees were pleasant from the front desk cashier down to the floor personnel the lunch buffet current price is $7.50 and the dinner buffet is $9.89 But don't go by their menu or any coupons you see on their website because they are incorrect and the cashier told me that the website menu is at least 10 years old I asked why don't you change and update your website and she says we did not put that on our Google in the first place.. read more

I've been to this China Buffet many times over the years that I've lived in Indy. The food has always been good. I did notice on this visit that the decor and appearance have suffered quite a bit. There are many stained ceiling tiles that need to be replaced, the booths are looking a bit tired and it seemed darker inside as if bulbs were missing. I'm assuming it's because of the pandemic but they had styrofoam plates and plastic forks. The food was ok but not anything memorable. This was bad. Like I'll never go back to them again bad. But also why do they have a 3 star rating?! This was the worst buffet restaurant I've ever been to. I'm generally not the picky eater type but not even the basics were accomplished. The food is either reheated, overcooked, or just left to dry out. Nothing here was good. Noodles were way too soggy. The fried rice barely has anything but corn for some reason. The fake crab has bits of dry pieces as if they forgot to add water to the serving pan. The cheese rangoon had a foul, old smell. It's clear the restaurant doesn't care anymore. Gave them a chance but man.. at least I didn't see roaches or anything. Just feels like a terrible and sad place to eat at. Don't be fooled by the location or exterior. The food is great, and very affordable. We brought my daughter and her Japanese husband and they both raved about a number of the dishes on the buffet. The honey chicken, chicken and broccoli, bourbon chicken, soup and lo mein. The chicken and broccoli was possibly the best I've ever had-lightly sauced, super crisp broccoli-yummy! I've lived by this place for a couple of years now and honestly didn't know it existed until recently. It's located at the far corner of a beat up little strip mall. Upon walking in, I am greeted happily by an employee. She is all smiles and very friendly. Additionally, I'm quite surprised to find that this place has more than the standard two other patrons you might normally find in a similar atmosphere. I'd say China Buffet was sitting at around 30% occupancy. These are both good, albeit shocking signs as they're both *rare* things at other China Buffets! The restaurant is generally clean, though weathered. There are five buffets arranged in a rectangle alongside two dining rooms. I watched a man refill diminishing trays repeatedly throughout my meal. As Neal stated in an earlier review, none of the items stood out to me, but nothing I tried was inedible. The total cost for lunch - including your beverage - totals to $7.40 As was previously stated, an okay place to have lunch if you're in the area, but nothing here to write home about. Though, I've gotta say, I really appreciate a Chinese buffet that doesn't cause me almost-immediate gastrointestinal distress! read more

If I remember correctly, they've actually lowered their price. And it does seem that the quality of the food has dropped just slightly. A couple years ago, I would have given them a 4-star on food quality. But they do maintain a very wide variety in terms of selection. Salad bar was sparse, but they had a good dessert selection. None of the dishes really stood out. Price was great, $5.99 for lunch, including drink. $6.53 with tax. The busser was quick to remove plates. I sort of want to give them 4 stars on cleanliness, but only because the average strip mall buffet isn't that great to start with. No complaints about the cleanliness of their men's room. Not really worth going out of your way for. It's mainly a fill-up cheap place if you're in the neighborhood. No complaints, but my feelings are now "meh." read more

This little buffet surprised me. We were looking for a Chinese buffet close to our hotel since we were in town for a convention. For the price you just can't beat this place. It's $8.95 for a buffet and that includes your drink. Everything - including drinks - is self-serve. The only reason this isn't a higher rating is because the interior is a bit outdated. Some of the booths were damaged and the bathrooms were across the restaurant with little signage. Also, while there was plenty to choose from some of the food was just lukewarm. If they cleaned up a bit and prioritized rotating out food it would be a very different experience. read more

For being a cheap Chinese buffet I was overall pleased with the selection and freshness of the food. For my family of 6 it was a cheap trip. Most of the kids liked it. They had a few American options line chicken nuggets, fries, and mac n cheese, etc. There were several chicken options like honey chicken, general tso, chicken and broccoli among a few others. There was only one beef option. There were a couple rices but I didn't see any noodle options. It's not high quality food but i wasn't expecting high end food for $9 adult price. My favorite Chinese buffet on the west side! Located in a strip off of tenth across from Ben Davis it has a huge lot to park in. Family ran and owned, they remember me every time. Place needs an update but it's clean and friendly. Food is always great and never gives me the bubble guts. If you live in the area they send out monthly coupons for cheap buffet. If you haven't tried it here it's highly recommended! More food for your buck with taste to match. read more

Great buffet, family owned and operated for many years. I grew up in the neighborhood nearby. This is a great neighborhood hangout, as well as a good place to stop for those coming from 465. The American Chinese mix is great for gluten free options. But don't worry all the Chinese food you love and crave is there at the buffet. Special order the steamed dumplings they rock. read more

Back in Indy visiting family on the west side. Found this little place by accident really. By first glance we were really nervous, it's in a old strip mall and certainly looks it's age. As we entered we were made to feel welcome though. . The staff seemed like they enjoyed seeing us at such a late hour..... I usually see a different reaction when walking in too late or too close to closing time at most places. The food was very typical of most Chinese buffets but was hot and tasted good. The big deal here is the incredible value. I think it was 8.95 with the drink included. I always love a good deal ; and the food here is at least as good as most others are at the 13.00 price point.
