Lunch special, 4 entree w/a side and appetizer
    GG L.

Went in on a friday at approximately 11:30am, just shortly after they opened. There was only one other customer, otherwise the place was empty. When I got there, I was greeted and asked if I wanted the lunch special (in a more sense of pressure). Being my first time there, I was a bit confused so I just agreed. The lunch special came with a side choice of either fried or white rice, and also 4 entrees. There was also a choice of appetizer of veggie rolls, egg rolls, or cream cheese wontons. The food had flavors but also felt like there was a mixture in the flavor (ex. My salt and pepper chicken had a sweet coating to it). Seeing as the restaurant just opened, you would think that there is fresh dish to pick out from but the dishes seem to be more of left over heat up than fresh, since the trays were more than less empty. Overall, the price is much more than decent for the meal. About $7 for a lunch special that consist of a side, 4 entrees, and an appetizer. May be worth a try, may be not. But it seems to carry the same aspect as any other fast pace chinese take out.

Maybe I should have taken a picture the night I got takeout... rather than a day later with most of it eaten. Sorry lol. But the food was great and the service was really quick. I will definitely be back and I'm sad that I didn't try this place sooner.

Beef (center), and egg roles are from this restaurant.

The dishes are home-style, I think. Taste was conservative in my opinion. We had beef with onions and egg roll. This restaurant seems to be run by family, I hope they'll do the great job. Good luck!

Disgusting. Not properly plucked. Don't ask for delivery. They will give you an attitude when arrived

The kiosk prints out a ticket, which you will hand to a staff member in the queue. He/she will assemble your food and puts it on a tray. Then you'll go through selecting fried appetizers and stuff for an additional fee. When you get to the cash register, they have drinks available. You could order their lattes too via the kiosk. I just had a Coke. There is water available too by the plastic silverwares. When you are done, you bring your dirty dishes to the tray return area. Simple. FOOD: The food was good. I had a tonkotsu udon with added charshu pork. The broth was delicious. I saw other dining patrons who drank from their bowl! The calamari was cooked right. I didn't need any sauce. I also bought the spam musubi, which was egg, SPAM, and rice--I saved it for later and it was delicious. PARKING: I parked at the Oak Street Parking Ramp that is affiliated to the University of Minnesota/M Health. It is $3.00 for 1 hour. The restaurant is just right around the corner. There are street parking available, but I'm not gonna drive around near rush hour/near when students are finishing up their last class and just wanting to get home. There were plenty of parking space in that ramp.

This was, without a doubt, the best sushi and service I have ever experienced…read more I enjoy new experiences. Before Saturday I had never heard of Omakase. For those of you reading this that are in that boat, it is well worth it. Omakase is a five-course sampler of the best sushi they have to offer. Calling it a sampler does a disservice to the artistry and mastery of the craft that to a very select few is sushi. Bask (I hope I spelled that right) is one such master. My buddy and I came in for a fun visit to the Twin Cities. On an impulse, he suggested sushi, and my instinct was to check Yelp. I'm glad I did. We sat at the bar after a short wait, where we met Emma. Emma is a bringer and friendly bar tender who happens to love sushi. We read through the menu and saw that Omakase had a whole page devoted to it. Emma let us know that the chef and cook staff dismantle whole fresh fish frequently, ensuring their fish meets their high standard. That one fact made the decision easy. I wish I had taken pictures of the food. You'll have to take my word for it that each serving was a work of art, some in their simplicity, others arranged with delicate touches of culinary flair. Without pictures of the dishes, the best I can do are two examples. The first course was three different cuts from the same ahi tuna, featuring the leanest portion, a medium portion and a fatty portion of the same fish. Having fresh fish and experiencing such variety from the same animal was eye opening. The other example was the uni. Both of us had tried it at other establishments and neither of us recalled our respective experiences fondly. Here, the flavor and texture was what I was told I should expect with uni. If I had known it was part of the meal before ordering, I probably wouldn't have gone with it. Now, I'm open to having it again, and if it's here I'll enjoy it again. The meal was perfectly portioned for my buddy and myself to feel full, but not stuffed. The flavors and textures were perfect. Words fail to reach the feelings invoked. We may have just been ruined on sushi. I eagerly await my next trip to your beautiful city, if only to visit Billy Sushi again.

I will admit, it's a bit too fancy for me sometimes. And the price matches. But it has been a delightful and delicious dining experience both times, so who am I to complain? I really want to come back and do the omakase sometime. -Cocktails: They have this whole big explanation about how they take special care in the curation of their cocktails, and I have to say, they are pretty great. I got the Party Girl this last time and it was good but pretty boozy. The gold flak on the top of it was a bit over the top for me, but whatever. My friend got the Raspberry Beret, which was delicious and obviously appropriately themed for Minneapolis and being down the street from First Ave. The restaurant also has an impressive selection of sake, Japanese beer, etc. -Apps: We love the yuzu tuna and have gotten it both times. This last time we also got the salmon carpaccio, which was also delicious. I love age dashi tofu, and this version was good - but not the best (Oragimi has a better one). We found the broth to be delicious, but the one big chunk of tofu was a bit unwieldy, and the coating was a bit gummy. I would pass on that one next time. -Sushi-wise: Nigiri are amazing here - delicious, perfectly cut fish, generous portions, rice that is often still warm. No complaints. For rolls, we love the Big Blue Wave and the Toro Mania. We also ordered the Fancy & Furious, which was less delicious to me but still pretty tasty. Service both times was totally fine - nothing exceptional but nothing to complain about either. I am sure we'll be back. Note: you basically need a reservation if you want to come during a prime time or on the weekend. Book ahead.
