We ordered the truffle fries, which had probably zero amounts of truffle on them. Overcooked. We were asking quite a few questions of him, trying to decide between the Chilean with lobster or the branzino, which showed our ignorance in the fish choices, I believe. A good server would have picked up on this, and went into a much more detailed explanation of both dishes to educate and inform us on making the right decision. So I think it's pretty accurate to say that a good majority of the problems we had could have been salvaged had he been a little more seasoned at reading the individual needs of his customers. Although, with ordering either of these entrees or the truffle fries, we would have been disappointed as the flavor was just not there. Being out of towners used to seafood from California, we were excited to try a new place on the east coast. I read multiple positive reviews from other customers, and unfortunately we are leaving disappointed in the $80 spent. We joked that perhaps the usual chef called in sick and the bus boy took his place. Underwhelming. Overcooked. Bland. But, they had pretty tables.

I am heart broken and disgusted at the "finish product" china express is delivering to patrons. I have dietary restrictions... I am allergic to egg... and as I was browsing the uber eats app I found myself looking at China Express... there were no descriptions or pictures next to the meals, and so I chose a meal that sounded like it would be perfect for rumbling tummy and salivating mouth... the meal arrived and what did I see... eggs galore! The definition of a hole-in-the-wall is 100% accurate. when we call The lady on the phone told me 45mins for pick up I didn't believe it. but They were overwhelming when we arrived.at least ten cars were waiting outside. We got spicy vinegar shredded potato, orange chicken, and beef with cabbage (idk or remember if thats what their direct translations are but its close) and they're all very well cooked - the amount and quality is much higher than what I'd expect from a mall food court. The cooking is fresh, the ratios were correct, each dish came with a side of rice. For the two of us, we definitely took quite a bit home and had leftovers the next day.

My experience at this Nai Brother's location was catastrophic. The service was awful, and the food was mediocre (maybe clouded by my negative experience). Nai Brother is one of the few food stalls at the Great Wall Supermarket food court. Last Saturday, before we began our grocery shopping for the upcoming week, my friend and I decided to enjoy lunch so we ordered at the counter. After ordering, we sat down at one of the many cafeteria tables to wait for our food. My friend's beef intestine noodle soup was ready first, so one of the servers brought it to her in a tray. He attempted to place the tray on the table, but the bowl slid to the edge of the tray and tipped 1/4 of the broth right into my lap. I was in shock from the pain and the fact that I was now drenched in broth. The server apologized and asked if I was OK, and I wasn't. I was quite angry and didn't want to say anything I regretted, so I stayed silent. My friend had to ask the server to get me a bag of ice. He went back and came out a few minutes later with ice and tried to defend himself, saying that the trays are slippery, the bowl had slipped when he placed the tray down. He also said we were supposed to get the food ourselves, and he wanted to be nice, so he brought the food to us. No one asked you to bring it to us??? At this point, I was too angry to say much. Our Chinese isn't good enough to ask for compensation, and to be honest, I've never had an experience like this before. I told him he needed to be more careful. He half-heartedly wiped our tables, but the ground was still wet from the hot soup spillage. Later on, a lady (I think the owner) brought out my food (Signature Sauerkraut Fish Soup) smiling and asked me if I wanted it to go. I asked for compensation in English, which she ignored. She offered nothing, not even water or anything. The food was very mediocre. For 15.95, there wasn't a lot of fish filet and to make things worse, I found an eyelash in my food. I was too frustrated to go complain. After the shock wore off, I went to wash off. I came back and there were two sugary drinks at our table. My friend told me she asked the owner for drinks on the house. I didn't want it. I was done. Overall, terrible experience at this Nai Brother food stall. I've eaten at many places and have never had anyone spill food or hot liquid on me or anyone else I was with. Also, no compensation offered, but I was too angry to press. My friend was missing parts of her meal (since it went on my lap), and there was nothing offered to her either.

Our group of five sampled a great variety from the menu, including the Hot & Numbing Tofu Skin, Crab Roe Soup Dumplings, Cucumber Salad, Lettuce Wraps, Cumin Fish, Stir-Fried Beef Tenderloin, Crispy Pork Ribs with Scallion Crisps and Mixed Grain & Purple Rice, Stir-Fried Beef with Chilies, and Kung Pao Chicken with white rice. The standout for me was the cumin fish. It was fried perfectly--crispy without being greasy--and the cumin added great flavor without overpowering the dish. The crispy pork ribs lived up to their name and had a nice kick of spice. The cucumber salad packed a serious garlic punch, which I really enjoyed. The Hot & Numbing Tofu Skin was something completely different from what I expected. It's sliced into long ribbons that resemble noodles or pasta. The flavor was excellent, although the texture took some getting used to. The only dish that fell a little short was the stir-fried beef tenderloin, which could have used a bit more seasoning. Everything else was delicious. The portions are enormous. At first the prices seemed a little high, but once the food arrived it made perfect sense. Every entrée was easily enough for two meals. One thing to keep in mind is that rice is ordered separately and isn't included with the entrées. Service was excellent throughout our meal. We arrived for lunch and didn't realize they close between lunch and dinner (lunch is served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.). We ended up staying until about 2:45, and the staff never made us feel rushed even though they had technically closed. They greeted us promptly, took our drink orders, and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu without hovering. The restaurant is tucked away on the ground floor of an office building, so it's easy to drive right past if you aren't looking for it. Parking was plentiful, and the oversized booths comfortably fit all five of us without feeling cramped. If you're dining with a group and want to sample a variety of authentic dishes, Mama Chang is definitely worth the visit.
