Wow, it's been over 6 years since I last reviewed this place.... and it's still here. The entrance to the parking lot is till weird pain in the you know what if you're coming from the 80 freeway. There no dedicated way to turn left into the lot, but lucky this time I not in a rig pulling trailer like 6 years ago, so I just swing this big SUV in a sort of u-turn and go in. Lots of parking in the lot for this buffet. The price has gone up from 6 years ago ... it's around $14 per person now. The selection of food is still just one steam table, but there still plenty to choose from and some unusual dishes I've not seen before. I'm here with my crew and they love buffets, cause these guys can eat all they want and everybody is happy to find something they like to eat. There are no American choices here like some buffets, like pizza and french fries. Some of the dishes I'd not seen before at buffets are these chopped oysters served on foil, or boneless ribs (really just sliced up pork shoulder cooked Chinese way), and steamed clams. The green beans were so fresh and crunchy cooked perfect. I was impressed all the food was cooked so well, compared to come Chinese buffets. The selection is smaller here but the quality is better than most. Everybody left full and happy and this is right near the hotel we're staying, so we might even come back again! read more

Who ever the new owners are, they suck, the food sucked, the service sucked and it was way to expensive. It's like they are not even trying to make good food. Stay away, stay far away. I just got done eating. I literally think I'm going to barf when I get home. The price was ridiculous for old leftover stale food. I wish I could give it zero stars. Ok , for the life of me I do not understand why they have a 3 star rating. Everything they had out on the buffet line was fantastic, especially for a small town. Everything was fresh, hot, well made, spiced perfectly......etc. Did I mention toon the price! Fast quick bite. Always great service by Nina! Upon appearance you may think they don't have a lot of food but they sure do. Many choices to choose from and they purposely only put out a little at a time to keep the food hot and fresh which I think is great ! Many buffets keep their food pans full and so it gets old and hard quick. They are also great about replenishing quickly and if you want more just ask. Our faves are the char siu pork, noodles (different variety some times one or two choices on different days), many chicken, beef and pork choices with different vegetables. They also have alcoholic beverages - soup and deserts. Check them out you won't be disappointed ! Will take pictures next visit. read more

Well, I want to be honest with you all. I would not say this is the worst or the best; it is mid-range at best. The service is good, but the food is just not where it should be. Honestly, I understand they get slow, but they need to put more food out. The restaurant feels very cramped, and the seating is very close to each other and not very comfortable. I would just make the drive to Reno and get Chinese food, but not a buffet. I would have taken pictures, but there just is not enough area to take good pictures. They just have a small selection. Honestly. This place would be so much better if they had a bigger building, better seating, and more to choose from, but this is not what I think of when I think of a Chinese buffet. read more

Not bad. Used to frequent the one in Sparks years ago so had to try this one. Went to lunch early Saturday afternoon and it was too busy but had a steady flow of customers who all seem local. It's a nice little diner style place, dimly lit. Had a nice spread of food. Spicy chicken, honey chicken, shrimp w veggies, egg rolls, wings, chow mein, fried rice, Chinese donuts and quite a few other items. Service was good, water was always filled. I cannot give this place a very good rating because of the taste of the food the chicken melted in your mouth as if it wasn't even real chicken. The beef was a very lite texture as well. Several of the entrées were cold and I had to wait for food to be served at 11:30. This is just unheard of to be serving cold food when they very first open. If you're hungry and you want "quantity over quality than this is the place. But if your tastebuds are seasoned, this is not the place for you. read more

Avoid this place like the plague! My dad had ice tea and I had a water we were eating when we got asked if he wanted a refill. He said yes. When he got his cup back, I immediately noticed the lipstick on the straw and immediately told him not to drink it! That was another persons drink. Absolutely gross that he got someone else's cup. Don't waste your money! I normally like the food here, especially their beef chow mei fun and hot and sour soup. Unfortunately the food I ordered tonight made me think if the original owner sold this place. Beef chow mei fun is the worst I have ever seen in my life. Very plain with a few pieces of pale beef and veggies...you can see from the pictures. The rice sticks are white no color and beef is pale. No flavor at all and it's not even stir fried!! Looks like they boiled everything and put them together. There are even egg shells in the eggs too. Yikes Hot and sour soup is a joke. All I can taste is soy sauce.its not sour nor spicy. There's not much stuff in the soup. Only a few bamboo , mushroom stems, tofu, pork in it. Mainly just liquid. yeah, you hear me right.... mushroom stems!! you don't even deserve mushrooms, you deserve mushroom stems! It's a rid off with the price they charged you. The lady who took our order is as friendly as ever and warned us that there are a few large orders ahead of us so the delivery could be in an hour. The first thing wrong was the buffet. It was as big as your average size dining table at most. You didn't have a very good selection of what to eat. The food was not great either. Most of it was cold and overall did not taste good. The bathroom smelt like it had not been cleaned in years. The toilet was gross and the floors were wet. The smell was absolutely HORID. I had a hard time not throwing up. The food like I said was not great. It was not cooked right at all. I really do not recommend. The only reason I have it 2 stars is because the service was great. To be totally honest, this was by far the worst buffet I've ever been to. Trust me the pictures will show you the problems. Food was absolutely horrendous and everything that was barely edible was all gone. We paid $27.99 for 2 people and I had one plate and my fiancé didn't even finish her first plate(also 2 drinks). China King Buffet is due for an updated review... You're welcome! ;-) After a brief visit to the Veteran's Cemetery, my family and I needed a place to dine at. Initially I mentioned that we were only a half hour away from Reno, and that we should go somewhere there. But, my mom mentioned a much closer buffet that she's gone to with friends after work. Enter China King Buffet. I skimmed thru the reviews and was a little hesitant about stopping by, but sometimes mom's know a yelp* thing or two, as well! Except for two other patrons, the place was empty for a Sunday at noon when we arrived. We were greeted right away by two smiling faces, and we were seated just as quickly. Even before we could figure out who would sit where, our drink orders were taken: 3 hot teas, one iced tea, a Sierra Mist, and a lemonade. Then we were off to the buffet. It was a small, two section buffet. The trays of food weren't entirely full, but neither was the restaurant. It was understandable that the trays were left maybe half-full. Some of the buffet items? -plain steamed rice -fried rice -veggie chow mein -crab Rangoon wontons -General Tso Chicken -Seafood Delight -crab legs -garlic green beans -mushroom pork -pepper potatoes -ginger clams - teriyaki chicken skewers -pepper chicken -egg flower soup -hot and sour soup A few more items, but that's all I can recall... We all took at least two trips each. And we all had our favorites. I favored the veggie chow mein, garlic string beans, and ginger clams. Except for the fortune cookies, we really didn't get any dessert. I didn't really notice the dessert area of the buffet. I think there was a tray of tapioca and there was a nice arrangement of almond cookies. The ladies tending to us were very friendly and took away our empty plates and bowls almost as soon as we were done. I struck up a conversation with one of the ladies, as she was eyeing my full belly and inquired about my condition. It's funny seeing everyone's reaction to the mentioning of twins, lol! Another one of the ladies gave an elderly regular patron a hug upon entering. And a regular family walked in and they were asked "how many this time?" Great customer service here, no wonder why they have so many returning customers! Restrooms can be kept up a touch more. Decor is kinda cliche, with bamboo, fans, koi fish, and lanterns. The buffet tongs can be hot to the touch, so be careful! My family left full and satisfied. No real complaints about the food were exchanged. For 6 people our bill came out to just under $70. Not bad for an AYCE Chinese buffet and drinks. Well, yelp*ers... My mom was right about this one. Worth a try, at least!!! read more

Not too shabby overall! I've been there about 20 times now and I often go with my in-laws. Anyway, what can ya say, really? They provide pretty good food and a good variety for the buffet, and the prices are reasonable. It is not the prettiest joint as far as the facility goes, but considering I've got my face buried in my plate whattda I care? The food is worth the price, the staff are nice and the wait staff are very attentive. Worst eating experience in Fernley! Both bathrooms smelled like open sewers! The food in the buffet was lukewarm and unappealing. We walked out and went to another Chinese restaurant down the road and around the corner. It was far superior, serving hot tasty fresh Chinese cuisine! Don't waste your time or money! read more

We went in around dinnertime on a Saturday night after not finding a Chinese Buffet in Fallon after a football game. We had a party of 9 and they were able to accommodate us quickly without a reservation. The Walnut Shrimp was amazing. We also enjoyed the chow mein, fried rice, and chicken skewers, among other things. We had spent the day in the heat and so we were unreasonably thirsty. They were able to keep all 9 of our drinks filled in a timely matter. After we left we realized that our 12 year old left her retainer. When we went back in the table had been cleared but they had put aside the one retainer and spent some time searching through the trash for us until they found the other. The service was amazing from beginning to end. I wish I could have left a bigger tip but we will definitely be returning if football brings us back out this way. read more

This place is pretty solid. The first thing is that they're a buffet, but they're also a full menu Chinese restaurant for takeout/delivery (and presumably eat in too but I don't imagine that happens a lot). Which is relevant just because their buffet is pretty small but that doesn't mean their takeout menu is. But their buffet is good. It's not large so there's not a huge selection but the quality IMO is significantly better than what you get at one of the typical large Chinese buffets. At a larger buffet in Reno maybe they've got 100 things but 90 of them are garbage. This place is more like 20 things but none of them are garbage. Additionally it means that things are more likely to be fresh here than other buffets. And I think it's $9.10 with tax for lunch and includes drink. My husband and I went there on 10/20/20. We were the only ones there so it was quite (which we didn't mind). The service was excellent and the food was DELICIOUS. I called before even showing up at the "buffet." I asked if they'd still have fresh food when we arrived or if it would be just what's left over. The woman on the phone explained that when we showed up, they would make fresh food for us. We showed up an hour and a half before they closed. There was literally no fresh food when we got there. I filled up a plate of food that was COLD. I'm talking about cold chicken, shrimp, crab. I didn't even realize that my food was cold until I got back to my table to see that my husband hadn't even touched his plate full of food. His was obviously cold as well. My husband was afraid of getting food poisoning from eating the cold food. The server that I had spoken with on the phone noticed we weren't eating. She came up to our table and asked if everything was okay.. My husband asked if they were going to have any fresh food because ours was cold.. The server said fresh food was being made.. The "fresh food," that was made was about 3 items! Chow mein, shrimp, and General Tso's chicken. So 3 fresh items that they made for us at the BUFFET! We ate almost everything that they had made. During our entire meal the server and a cook that had come out of the kitchen were talking.. REALLY LOUDLY.. It was hard for my husband and I to even have a conversation let alone a peaceful meal. They were loudly cleaning in the dining room, getting ready for closing even though the buffet was still open for for well over an hour.. Neither my husband or I were asked for refills on our drinks. Even though the server had to notice our empty glasses when she came to our table multiple times to grab our plates. This was by far probably the worst dining experience we have ever had. The bill came out to be 23$. So 23$ for 3 items of food at a buffet and NO refills. We were both thirsty when we left. So we went somewhere to get drinks. It's sad because we used to like this place. We would come in during the day all the time with our whole family for lunch.. Needless to say, we will never return. Neither will our family. We will encourage our friends to stay away from this place as well.. If you enjoy cold food, shitty service, measly selections, noisy workers, and becoming parched during your meal, then this is the place for you!!
