I happened to be in the area and was scrambling to find dinner to take home when I looked up this place and its glowing reviews. I've gotta say, those glowing reviews are not wrong! I walked in to place my order and only had to wait about 10-15 minutes before it all came out fresh from the kitchen. While I was sitting there, I noticed a steady stream of takeout orders being called in and picked up, so this place is obviously popular with the locals. After a long day, I've gotta say that all of the food I ate was pretty perfect and hit the spot just right. Reposting my google review here! This is my FAVORITE place to go to for chinese food. I usually order beef chow mein with light veggies and when I tell you they are #1, I MEAN IT! My mom and I would always come here when I lived in Sparks. I will always take up the opportunity to eat here when I'm craving chinese cuisine and happen to be in Sparks. Their chow mein is the best in all of Sparks/Reno and you don't even need extra soy sauce because their seasoning/flavoring is immaculate. The family is from NYC so they know what's up when it comes to cooking good food! God bless this family and their restaurant. They deserve it. Quick and lovely service as always. To my surprise , very good food ! One of the best Mongolian beefs I have ever had. The server was a little shocked at all of our dishes we ordered ( we like leftovers ) and tried many times to convince us not to order more which was quite hilarious ... but don't overlook this place great dishes. read more

Delicious! We wanted some good Chinese food, and we got it! The service is great, the waitress is fast and super sweet. The prices are super affordable and you get a lot of food for what you pay. We both got dinner combination plates which includes soup, an egg roll, chow mein, fried rice, and a lunch special all for $11.50 which is an amazing deal. We also ordered potstickers which were phenomenal! The pork chow fun noodles are also a must get! We had an amazing experience and will be coming back! read more

China king is my go to Chinese restaurant, since it is right around the corner from our house. Helen , who owns the restaurant, always greets is like we are family. They do a big take out business, but if you want to dine in they have quite a few tables and booths. I ordered my usual, beef with snow peas and hot and sour soup. The soup was good, but overly spicy. Sometimes the soup is perfect and sometimes it is just to hot I guess it depends on the cook. The beef with snow peas was delicious. Pretty good! Came for lunch on a monday afternoon at 2 pm. Got the #18 Mongolian Beef lunch special ($6.50) available from 11 am to 3 pm. Comes with soup, won tons, vegetable eggroll, and your choice of either steamed or pork fried rice. You can add chow mein for 50 cents more. For the soup they gave me a choice of either egg flower or hot n sour. I love hot n sour so it was a no brainer. It was exactly as I thought it would be. Hot and not too spicy. The pork fried rice was had a good amount of pork in it along with just the right balance of veggies. The vegetable eggroll was just ok, For you veggie lovers it would probably hit the spot. As for the main item, the mongolian beef was delicious. Again, just like the soup it was well balanced with just the right amount of spices. Service was good. I was greeted, sat down, and my order was taken. Soup came out first about 5 minutes later. Then another 5 minutes my dish came out and it was piping hot. I had water and it was refilled a couple times without me asking. All in all, my overall experience was good. The location they are in they are literally in the corner of this nice sized plaza in between a Mexican restaurant and a subway. The name of their restaurant is a bit small so you just might miss it if you arent looking for it. I would come again any time im in the area and its lunch time. Do not go. Food was horrible. Ordered BBQ pork fried rice, Seafood vegetable crispy noodles, egg flower soup. All messed up in a horrible way, don't know what's wrong but they had some weird taste. Hot and sour soup. Waaaaaay too spicy and NO mushrooms?? Too much white pepper and red chilli flakes. Where are the woodear, shitake and lbm's? Yes tofu, egg and bamboo are represented. First time eating at this restaurant and it was great. Due to Covid the dining area is limited so I decided to order take out. I ordered Wonton Soup, mixed veggies, and veggie chow mien. Yuck! Nasty! Rancid! Are you getting the picture? I ordered take out a few days ago and when I got it home my wife said it smelled like a "horse barn". We ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef and Chicken Fried Rice. The Broccoli Beef smelled especially bad. Not sure what the smell was, but it didn't smell like food. We had a few bites then tossed the whole meal - $33 dollars worth! I guess it could have been that we were there shortly before closing and we got the dregs of the food. I called for a Togo order and just wanted one crab Rangoon that is $5 worth and then asked how many pieces that comes with it and the girl straight up said No. I'm like oh okay, there is so no good customer service in here~ the cream cheese inside was very sweet cheesy and has an off color~ definitely not made fresh everyday. The food is pretty standard fast food Chinese. Not bad, but definitely not great. Usually the service is fast, but not always accurate. Last week my wife and son ordered some food to go. She ordered egg foo young and he ordered the Combination Dinner with Orange Chicken. The Combination Dinner comes with fried rice, soup, and appetizers. When they got the food home, they noticed my son only got the Orange Chicken. My wife called and tried to explain the error, but the woman on the other end of the phone insisted they bring everything back. When they got back to the restaurant, the woman took all the food into the kitchen reportioned the Orange Chicken into a smaller container and tossed some cold soup, rice, and egg rolls into a bag. This was all handed back to my wife without so much as a "Sorry." I've never known a restaurant to demand a customer bring food back to the restaurant just so they could throw part of it away. Most places I've had a problem with would have just had me come get the dishes they forgot to include. Next time, we'll drive a few minutes farther to CJ's Palace. Well...It's not good...but it's not bad. Won't go again. large portions of...Not good...but not bad food. It always amazes me that there are really no good Chinese or Mexican food restaurants in Reno/Sparks area. In the San Joaquin Valley they are everywhere. The best was the one that closed six years ago in the super market. the "Sizzling Wok" Gone Now...Sad Really. Update: between 11 am and 3 pm make sure you order the Lunch Menu. I ordered at 1:55 pm off the regular menu and the charged me 3.00 more with less food...Cheap really. They should have told me. Avoid this place. Not customer friendly. read more
