    To Go - Egg Rolls
    Laura A.

China Kitchen is an American/Chinese casual order in or take out kind of restaurant. I went to the Aliante location that used to be a China A Go Go. This location shares a very nice outdoor community patio so I wanted to try it. Maybe the best of what we tried was the pot stickers. They had little flavor and seemed lightly fried and were ok. The egg rolls here are like spring rolls and were sort of gooey inside. The Hot Garlic Szechuan Chicken isn't hot or garlicy and is extra sweet and very flat tasting. It's so sweet that you can pour it on pancakes. The Kung Pao Beef is very hard to chew. Your side (rice or noodles) cost extra.

Been living and eating here for 20 years ... first time I get old chicken. I won't be coming back.

We were told to seat ourselves , so we picked a two top by the window. We were handed menu's and the server came back with ice water and asked if we were ready to order. We ordered the fried gyoza (5) and my dining companion ordered shoyu ramen . I ordered my "standard" curry with white rice and pork katsu. The gyoza were crispy and hot. Served on a little tray with a soy based dipping sauce. No plates were provided for the gyoza which is pretty typical, but kind of a negative for me. The ramen was served in a medium size bowl, chocked full of noodles, charshu, etc but no undercooked soft boiled egg. (I think that was extra, but to me I thought eggs used to be standard). My dining companion said the broth was good and the noodles toothsome. My curry came shortly afterward, a decent sized katsu , medium serving of short grain rice and the curry. I usually don't order my curry very spicy and on the scale of 1-10 I usually order 1or 2. Today it was one. The katsu was crispy but still moist in the middle, piping hot. The curry was just thick enough and I I had enough to mix in with the rice after I was done with the katsu. So all in all, pretty good and the price was reasonable and they offer a 10% military discount. Always nice to return for a predictably decent meal

It's very casual but this location also does offer wait service. You can sit at the bar with the open kitchen or a booth or table in the dining area. We ordered and my husband's gumbo stew comes out first. He said that the gumbo was pretty good but it was missing the rice that gumbo normally contains. Next my husband's entree comes out. He really wanted a combo of fried oysters and fried shrimp but they don't serve combos like that so he got fried oysters with upgraded sweet potato fries. He said they were A-OK. A few minutes latter my entree arrives. It's the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. It's a very large serving of food and most people will get 2-3 meals out of it. The dark meat chicken was very moist and very tender. It was cooked nicely. It tastes alright but also like it's missing something. It also comes with a generous amount of rice and macaroni salad that also tastes like it's missing something and is also very thick. Last to arrive was our appetizer (the crispy green beans) They were almost very good. The green beans were nice and fresh and fried to perfection but then they killed them with way too much sauce that isn't mentioned on the menu. Both of us didn't care for the taste of the sauce. It was something soy-saucy but thick. I would come back and order the green beans again but I would request NO SAUCE on them. The server seemed nice and also offered refills. Not perfect but OK Worth a try if you are in the area.

I'm honestly still in disbelief by this experience…read more I came here on my lunch break and ordered a bowl of pho, and they gave me a bowl that was meant for someone else. It already had bean sprouts and toppings mixed in that the previous customer put in with their bare hands, but it was sent back to the kitchen because im assuming they didn't want it. And instead of discarding it, they used that persons pho and gave it to me instead. To make it worse, when I pointed it out, they didn't remake it. I was on a lunch break and was told a new bowl would take too long, so I was basically stuck with it. This is a serious hygiene issue and completely unacceptable for any restaurant. I should not have been put in that position at all. I will not be coming back.

Good thing the spring rolls also were served fast so she wasn't stuck just watching me eat. Back to the food .... Pho was nice and hot. Rich and not too sweet. Lots of ingredients though I would have loved more onions. Spring rolls were standard. Not overstuffed with the greens (see pics). Parking was easy - it's on the Southwest corner of Rancho and Craig. Back behind the gas station. Lots of free parking. Inside was pretty big - tables so it should be ok if you're coming in with a large group. Not that I would be but mentioning it here in case you're reading this and wondering.

We originally tried this restaurant because my neighbor who used to live in Thailand half the year recommended this restaurant to us. It's not a fancy place but is cozy with lots on booths to sit in. They also have music videos playing on the big TVs on the wall. Dishes are ordered in heat levels from 1-10. After a few visits I find inconsistency with some of the dishes so dining here can be a bit hit and miss but overall at least ok. We both really loved the eggplant chip appetizer. We recently had it again and it appeared different but I'm happy to say the chips were still very tasty and good. However instead of a savory and spicy sauce they served it with sweet duck sauce this time that we didn't care for. This time I tried the caramel salmon. Most of the pieces of salmon were ok. It was good when you added the flavorful spicy sauce of the side. The salmon was served over lettuce that wilts from the hot fish and comes with a double sized portion of rice. Maybe they just slipped with the soy sauce in the Spicy Basil Dish my husband had. And possibly ran out of basil because his dish had a good spice level but didn't taste like basil at all. This dish mainly had a soy sauce taste and was very salty. Service was attentive and friendly. Plates were cleared quickly. 3 Stars translates to A-OK or average - hit and miss

Since I live on the north side, I figured I'd look for somewhere closer that has chicken katsu curry and Tokyo Cafe popped up. It's only about 2 miles from me so I decided to give it a try! I ordered the chicken katsu curry at spice level 3. My first few bites were really good and initially I thought it tasted just as good as Curry Ya. The katsu was crispy, the portion was generous and the curry had a nice flavor. But about halfway through my meal, I felt like the taste didn't quite hold up for me. It was still good, just not as good as Curry Ya like I originally thought. Maybe it was cuz I was getting uncomfortably warm inside the restaurant and it was affecting how much I was enjoying my food. LOL! The cashier was really nice and patient with me since it was my first time there and I had a couple of questions while ordering. The place was also surprisingly busy for a Wednesday with people dining in and plenty of takeout orders. My biggest issue was how warm it felt inside. I know it's summertime in Vegas but it honestly felt like the AC wasn't keeping up. They had ceiling fans going but I was still pretty hot while eating which definitely took away from the experience. Overall, the food was still good and I'd order the chicken katsu curry again especially since Tokyo Cafe is only about 2 miles from me. Next time though, I'll definitely get it to go. It's nice having a nearby option when I don't feel like driving all the way to Spring Mountain and dealing with parking and seating at Cheongdam Food Hall.
