Can't beat the value in the lunch specials here at China One! I was skeptical based on previous reviews but have always been intrigued passing by everytime I go down Durango. I door dashed the orange chicken lunch special and it was great! The portion size goes crazy- can definitely be enough for two hungry people. Orange chicken was flavorful and not too heavy on the coating! The chow mein noodles were perfectly chewy and paired perfectly with the chicken. I also ordered a side of rice ($3) and it was HUGE. Conveniently located! Random urge on the way to my next adventure. The co-worker said the restaurant received a 5 star Health Dept rating, lol. Clean is impressive but doesn't speak for the taste or experience. So, off I went... On my way, right at the curb and smelled like chop suey. I was excited. Boxes everywhere for the stock up but the business is clean. Several patrons dining in. Nothing fancy but the attention the cashier/server, bus boy gave made me root for them happy to be there. Chipset in STL is none like any other, any bonfire STL chipset eaters can confirm. Egg Foo Young gravy and twice fried rice seasoned like you would at home is hard to get outside your kitchen, lol. The lunch specials are 9 dollars and high change now... we opted to get a full size chow fun and share it. It's hard to go wrong with wide flat rice noodles. I asked for no onions or bell peppers. This place is on my rotation of restaurants I get delivered. My biggest concern when ordering Chinese food delivered is that it will be over cooked and dry. I'm not sure if they make food to order but the food is always fresh and never over cooked. As an added benefit the food is excellent. My personal favorites are the sesame chicken and beef (individual dishes), the chicken fried rice and chow mein. If your craving Chinese food, give this place a try. read more

The food here was so bad. I ordered egg foo young which looked like a quesadilla cut into 4 large pieces. It lacked the flavor i was looking for and only tasted like an egg omlette topped with gravy. Yuk! I also ordered the lunch special which was just plain noodles, Kung pao and rice with some funny looking items on the rice. My husband didn't even eat more than a fork full. Just bad bad bad. We are big fans of China One and pickup our weekend dinner there quite often. Sometimes a 4 star, sometimes 5, rarely less, so I'm giving a 5 for consistency and satisfaction. Their appetizers and soup are always good, and my family loves the chicken chow fun, shrimp fried rice and the salt and pepper Shrimp is absolutely delicious! We also enjoy the orange chicken and teriyaki chicken among many other dishes. The ambience inside is not great but when you get the food home, the ambience in your kitchen or dining room room will certainly light up. Their service is always kind and helpful. I had extremely low expectations which made this place decent, and typical greasy (which is not normal Chinese food). We ordered pork chop pieces and fried chicken as our junk food takeout to pair with other veggie dishes we already had at home. Dishes were okay. Just moved to LV and found this place. The food is amazing and so is the service. We are a family of 5 and ordered the family meal. We had pork fried rice, steamed rice, orange chicken, general chicken(#1 for all of us), beef and spicy garlic, and sesame chicken. Highly recommend any as they were all delicious. The food is okay but felt uncomfortable when the older man at the cash register told me to tip. The service was nothing special but as a retail worker who used to work in the food industry I was just very surprised when the man straight up told me I should tip. He did not do anything extraordinary to deserve it anyways. I spent about $20 on myself so I usually leave a few dollars as tip regardless but because of the weird behavior I left $0. I was the only customer dining in too and was served my food on a flimsy paper plate. My husband and I are pretty frequent when it comes to ordering lunch. Mainly because there are so many cheap specials going on that require no cooking lol On a Friday afternoon we were dying for some good Chinese food and saw that China One was fairly close to our house and decided to give it a try. We were grateful they had $8 lunch specials (what a steal). I opted for the orange chicken with fried rice and my husband did the beef and broccoli with white rice. Our order came in about 20 minutes which was amazing because we were starving! Our meals did not disappoint, they both were plenty to share and we even had leftovers. So I was on FB and a question was asked where can they get egg foo young. So I decided to follow that thread and someone said China one has pretty decent egg foo yong the place I used to go to dim sum Café took it off their menu and I get it. It's an American dish but I like it and I wish places had it so I decided to order this place behold it's pretty darn good, they give you so much food that could last you for a couple days. I also ordered the wonton soup with noodles. Kind of bland needs a little bit more seasoning but overall I would recommend this place for takeout. check this place out. You might like it. read more

China One is my go to spot for cheap eats. Is it China Mama quality food? No, but you get what you pay for and more. In this economy, everything is so expensive. Sometimes you just want to have some Chinese food and this hits the spot! We order delivery on their website because it has the least amount of fees and you get a $5 coupon if you purchase $30 worth of food. We order orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, side of noodles, and Mongolian beef for $36 delivered. The food is enough to last 2-3 days for 2 people. You really get a lot of bang for your buck. The food generally gets here packed carefully and within 15-20 mins. It's really fast. The food is a bit above average but not the best. It does always come in hot and fresh so it's nice. I haven't been to the store in a while so I don't have much to say about the ambiance. I highly recommend for cheap Chinese food. read more

Went in on 5/21/2024 for lunch. Menu for lunch specials states it comes with 1 entree, chow mein, or fried rice or steamed rice and egg drop soup ( dine in only) we wanted to dine in but were told its take out or delivery only. I said okay but the soup? They said no. No signs on doors of restaurant saying no dine in in fact it says dine in & take out, delivery. This is misleading and false advertising. read more

The Family dinner B is an excellent and delicious value. Ordered it on the phone came thirty minutes later. Could have been warmer and five-stars would have been received. Appetizers. (2 veggie egg rolls, 2 fried shrimp, and two crab Rangoon). Egg drop soup. Combo chow fun. Combo fried rice. Sesame chicken. I will 100% be sure to order again. Non-descript place tucked away in the corner that's really a hidden gem. The name is kinda misleading as they serve a lot more than Chinese but a wide array of Asian American (emphasis on American so think of like New York style asian food) like Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese. I came because i wanted to try their lunch special and it did not disappoint. You can really stretch your dollar here with the food they serve and the quality of taste. I also like that everything is cooked on the fly and it makes a difference in taste and freshness, especially with fish and seafood. Definitely will be back to try more of their menu. read more

When I did a pick up order for my coworker and I, it was on the lunch special. I had the Cashew Chicken ($6.45) with chow mein. The meat is cooked well, it's sautéed with veggies and covered with cashew, but the chow mein is mainly stir fry noodles that lack flavor. I wasn't too impress with my work lunch, it didn't have the wow factor, and I end up just taking the rest of the food going home. It seems that a lot of the customers who come here prefer ordering for takeout, which is probably why I hardly see anyone dining inside the restaurant. They do offer delivery service. If you are within a 4 mile radius the charge is $2. Each mile after that is $1 more. I know my coworker loves the food here and is happy ordering for delivery. I really want to give this restaurant a fair review, so I made a revisit and stayed to dine in. The cashier who is also the server gives me the menu and brings a styrofoam cup filled with water along with complimentary crunchy Fried Wonton Strips serve with duck sauce. The duck sauce has a unique sweetness and more appealing taste than sweet & sour. I request for hot tea ($1.50) and it was also serve in a styrofoam cup. At this point, I'm seeing a pattern and thought maybe the food will be delivered in a takeout box. However, after placing an order for Singapore Rice Noodle and Lemon Chicken, the entrees are serve on a pretty big plate. The Singapore Rice Noodle ($8.95) is sautéed with chicken, shrimp, BBQ pork, veggies and it is wok stir fried in yellow curry powder. I mention not to add shrimp, but when the food came it had shrimp. The server did apologize and offer to make another one, but I was already hungry and did not want to waste food. So he brought a small bowl and offer to pick and remove four piece of shrimp that's buried in the noodles. It is a thoughtful gesture, but I think I would prefer to do that with my fork. The Noodle dish has a mild curry flavor, I like how the chicken is soft and tender, BBQ pork is good, it has veggies like red onions, bell pepper, carrots, cabbage, scallions, great quality flavor, and the portions are plentiful. I'm also glad I tried the Lemon Chicken ($8.95), they really give huge portion for this! It is a tender crispy white meat serve on lettuce, it comes with white rice or you can choose brown rice for an additional $1.50, and it has a delicious dipping sauce made from real lemon that's mix with corn starch. Despite the mishap, I think the revisit made me see a better side to this restaurant. The server is polite and genuinely cares for the customer. You get good food at a great value with generous portion. They use quality ingredients, make everything fresh, and the food is delivered hot. It is a casual atmosphere with minimal decor, they play good music, and you get your money's worth when you dine in. For sure, I'll be back. I almost didn't order because the pictures & reviews but I am so glad I did! Everything arrived piping hot & fresh. I love that the broccoli is not soggy and over cooked. My only complaint is that the beef and broccoli taste a bit too much like soy sauce & the salt pepper wings are also slightly too salty. Holes in my food container to ventilate the crispy wings would be nice as well. I've definitely had better but for the cost I can't complain. Food is tasty and my special instructions to add sides of chili oil and s&s sauce were honored. read more
