The place was clean in the front and still practicing covid precautions. At least, that's what i think they are doing. They have a table barrier preventing you from coming to the counter. They have a payment machine and sanitizer there. The food was ok. I ordered sweet and sour shrimp, shrimp fried rice, and veggie rolls. The fries rice was ok, nothing special. The S&S shrimp was ok. They had too much breading for me and were slightly over fried... I couldn't cut them, and too greasy, I could taste the old oil that they used, and it left a bad aftertaste. The veggie rolls really didn't have much in them and were too gooey on the inside, I think bc there's noodles in them. 3 came in a pack. The the house fried rice was very mediocre. The texture tasted like the rice was not cooked all the way, it had zero Chinese roots, no fried egg or pork pieces just plain rice with some peas, carrots and onion. The shrimp was an ok amount but it lacked flavor overall. Would not be purchasing the house rice anymore. So disappointing! read more

Last July I wrote a review for my hometown about a hole in the wall called No. 1 Chinese Kitchen. I wrote about how much I missed their food. Yeah, it's bad for you and despite my reviews, I don't eat out much. Most of the time I cook at home. I've lived in Temple Terrace for 4 years and kept forgetting about this place. Today I decided to buy some lunch and it finally occurred to me to try it out. Excuse me while I have a moment. This place looks almost exactly like the one I wrote about in Rio Grande, NJ. The memories, the smell, came flooding back to me in an avalanche of happiness. I have a sneaky suspicion they both buy their food from the same distributor. I don't care because my beloved shrimp with broccoli was available and it was ready for me in less than ten minutes. It's a little more oily than the place in Rio Grande, but it was tasty and hot. I brought 4 eggs rolls I ate two and some shrimp fried rice I have been sick from my head to my stomach for 4 days now. Not recommend I made an order online and it spent more than 90 minutes to get my lunch delivered. We gave the delivery man the money but he just leave without changes! I'm staying with friends in the area so I opted to try this place. They have the most amazing steak and cheese egg rolls I've ever had. I also grade a place on how good their chicken fried rice is. I suppose that sounds silly, but if you can't get something as simple as that right, then chances are the rest of your food won't be nearly as good. Thus far, they have some of the best chicken fried rice I've had in Tampa. Overall, their food is great, large portions and not very expensive. It's a good hole in the wall place that you long to find when you move to a new area. I'm glad I found this one and highly recommend trying to them out. read more

We have been ordering from China One since we moved here 8 years ago. They have been consistent in food, service and prices over all this time. Portions are very generous so we always have leftovers. My families favorites are the Krab Rangoon, the egg rolls and the sesame chicken. I personally like the lo mein noodles from here better than anywhere else. I spend $18.00 on two orders of Chicken tenders with Beef and Chicken fried rice. My wife Chicken fried rice and Chicken tenders was stale and she exchange for french fries, same result stale fries. My food which was Chicken tenders and Beef fried rice was also stale. I ask the owner if he could at least refund my wife dinner order, he decline in unfriendly manner. This business has gone down hill, when I moved to the area the food was great, the people were friendly, lunch specials were around $4, the food came with hot peppers if requested and if there was a problem, they fixed it. Recently I ordered 2 meals, sweet and sour chicken, the chicken was burnt and tasted like jerky. I called the next day at my earliest convenience and the lady argued she would not replace anything, after a bit she agreed to replace 1 meal and give me a credit for $4 on the other. Upon arriving at the restaurant, even though she was informed half of the meal was eatin, she refused to replace it and again, after arguing some, she agreed to just replace the chicken, not the entire meal and then refused to do the $4 credit unless it was during lunch hours, like they weren't intelligent enough to remember how to do the lunch specials after 2pm, so i have to come back during lunch hours. The service in this place has gone down a lot, its a wonder how they are still in business, specially with the lunch specials now at $6 and I have to pay extra for hot peppers i'm being told. Avoid this place and go to a different restaurant, next time I will, now if i only had a corporate number to complain to. read more

I tried this place for the first time and was very disappointed. They claim to be New York Style so I was really excited. First I order and told the lady on the phone that I had a 50 dollar bill. She said it was no problem the driver will bring enough change. When the driver came he didn't have enough change. The receipt specifically said that I had $50. Went and got takeout and got two combination platters (that comes with rice and an egg roll as per the menu) and an extra order of crab rangoons. After I picked up my order and paid I checked my food and there was no egg rolls, no big deal they must have forgotten. I go back inside and inform the women working that we were missing our eggrolls. She got an attitude with me and said we didn't get egg rolls because the crab rangoons replaced them. (Mind you ONE order of crab rangoons was replacing TWO eggrolls) I questioned if they were going to replace the egg rolls then why were we charged for them? She snapped back at me and rolled her eyes saying "we didn't charge you for them" knowing that she just lied to my face cause I can do basic math I decided to take the high ground and just walk away. read more

Two large pork fried rice, pork egg food young, sesame chicken, and boneless spare rib tips. She told me an hour wait. Fine. Food gets to me and there are two small pork fried rice containers. Looked at my receipt and was charged for two small but who in their right mind would order two small rice for $12 when you can get one large for $8? This is their way of robbing people. How stupid can one person be? I called the idiots back to tell them they got my order wrong and her answer to me was they didn't charge me for large and if I want two more small. So now I'm stupid? And it was a 45 minute wait for that! I hung up on her and ate the driest rice ever. Thank God I didn't get more of it. Awesome mistake. The boneless spare rib tips looked like pulled pork. This is a decent Chinese takeout restaurant. You'll find average Chinese food in large portions--basically what you'd expect from a restaurant like this. They do a great job of making my General Tso's chicken extra, extra spicy. Yum! Have ordered from here twice, and that was 2 times too many! Ordered food the other night at 5:00, and about 6:45 it finally arrived, cold, and not very good at all. We called and let the restaurant know and the person on the phone replied with, "it sometimes takes 2 hours for delivery."
