Something told me that it might not be the best idea to check out this place, but venture forth I did. China Palace is your typical hood Chinese food served with an extra helping "I couldn't care less" from the staff. Walking in the place is a dump. Every surface is sticky, there's food on the tables and chairs, grease spots on the floor, etc. I ordered my usual item to test the waters which is the orange chicken dinner special. Upon asking the cashier if it came with a soda, he spoke unintelligible words. After trying to understand him, I came to the conclusion that he was trying to explain that the specials come with either an egg roll or drink. When I asked to include the drink as extra he proceeded to roll his eyes as if it was that much difficult to just add a drink to the order. My order was ready in just a few minutes which isn't a good sign. They serve the usual large portions for under $12. While I was waiting I ended up cleaning the table myself after I realized there was sauce spilled on it (see pic for how dirty the cloth was after just a small wipe down.) The soda I ordered was lukewarm...not a great start. The egg roll is your typical egg roll made with peanut butter. Crispy, but there's definitely better rolls out there.  The orange chicken started out a step above the dreaded "orange sponge." It was piping hot, crispy in some areas and had some spice to it. Still, it was just another orange sponge once the ridiculous amount of sauce soaked in. The fried rice is definitely over seasoned yet trended towards good. After just a few bites my stomach started going so I got out of there. They definitely need to do better.  2 out of 5 stars

I just moved into the Edgewater neighborhood and decided to try this place. Im glad I did! 1. The woman who answered the phone was so sweet. 2. Food was delicious 3. Wings were HUGE 4. A little pricey, however I will order again For anyone who is looking for a quick, flavorful and mildly greasy dinner/lunch. This is the place!!

Beef chow fun description states it comes w wide rice noodles and green onion, there's only green beans and mushrooms and sprouts.

Ordered beef chow fun and requested for crispy noodles. Received another item with green beans and mushrooms, no noodles. No green onion. Called to let them know I received the wrong order and they were adamant about changing the noodle and it was correct. Whoever I spoke to wasnt the kindest about it either.

Szechuan string beans. Spicy and tasty.

The Miami Dolphins-colored dining area is awesome. They kill it on the portions, too (2 meals in 1 every time). Empress Cheeckon

We ordered like the PERFECT amount of food and best variety. Roast duck: I honestly don't know if I've ever had duck before, but I'm a duck believer now. The skin on theirs was the perfect crispy shatter texture and the duck was sooooo juicy! I don't know why I was always so worried about it being gamey. They give you fluffy steamed bao buns, a sauce, and scallions on the side as well as duck fried rice! Turnip cake: Obviously a must any time I come to dim sum. I've never seen turnip in any other form than this. Japanese salt & pepper tofu: My FAVORITE dish ever. Any fried salt & pepper tofu always makes me happy. They use a creamy egg-like tofu and the outside is lightly crispy with amazing aromatics stir fried in. Steamed white rice on the side is perfect with this. Loved everything else my dinner buds picked and we were super full by the end! Service was good and food came out fast and scorching hot! ***Parking in the area is treacherous (not the restaurants fault, but reconsider driving if possible bc cell signal can be zero to none around the garages if you get lucky) ***Their website allows you to request a reservation as long as it's 3 hours before your desired time. We came on a Saturday evening around dinner time and there was plenty of room for us to get a table immediately as walk-ins!

Please be advised, they do not take Apple Pay!…read more Both the egg yolk buns and shrimp friend rice were delicious! I went on Sunday afternoon and there were few parties dining in, so we were able to sit and get our food quickly.

We sat outside on a beautiful day and I definitely recommend the outdoor if it's nice out! The inside seemed big and a nice vibe for the winter. Loved the wings, the green beans, and I think all of our favorites was the duck fried rice! Soooo good and flavorful. The goat slap noodles and beef and broccoli were great too. Everything was super unique from traditional Chinese and nothing was too spicy! Definitely trust the experts. The wabbit season cocktail was good but I think I'd get another drink next time.
