Food is great, and has a good variety, service is great and very clean. I'd like to come back. I really recommend this place.

I don't know what the negative reviews are about?! This is a GREAT place for someone, hungry after outdoor activities. (And not because people will eat anything when they're hungry.) For about 13$ you get to choose from FOUR different aisles of freshly prepared foods, AND a fountain drink is included (e.g. pink lemonade). The food doesn't just sit there - it's constantly added, as needed. The food bar is (safely) cleaned all the time. The restaurant was packed, seems to be frequented by locals, too. We still got seated immediately. For small kids, they have french fries and fried chicken, among other less spiced things. They offer freshly cubed fruits, vanilla& chocolate pudding/custard (same as at Sweet Tomatoes). As for the Chinese/Asian food - this is not a posh place and never aimed to be. It offers many basics (even seafood!). They had (great tasting) beef ribs, broccoli &beef, sesame chicken, jalapeno chicken, Mongolian beef, Szechuan beef, shrimp in many different variations, among many more other things. The service was amazing. Efficient during seating. And then the busser kept coming to the table, taking away used plates. Also, she kept asking if we needed more drink refills. I loved everything about this place. It lives up to the type of a restaurant it is. This is, realistically, at least a 4* place. Thank you for a great experience! read more

Normally when doing reviews they are normally good, but this time around I was highly disappointed after weeks of excitement over this China Star Buffet. I walked in with me and friends expecting to be welcomed and was almost turned away, because 'The Health Department is here' and then was told 'You Pay Now and Go Sit' so the $12 price tag was nice for what I thought was a Chinese buffet but was then disappointed that this was presented to me and my guests the whole time we were there. I love food in different styles. Buffet is one of kid I don't eat in the past 2 year quit offen since I go to Gym and try to control my weight. Before the gym things started, I went to Las Vegas lot of times just for the food especially the buffet. Wicked spoon buffet inside Cosmopolitan , Bacchabal Buffet inside Caesar's Palace, Carnival world and sea food buffet inside Rio hotel are few my favorites. About my experience today if you're look for some genuine Chinese style Buffet,This is absolutely a good place to go also they do have good french fries and fried chicken . The corn is very fresh and I can test it is from Iowa. This was in the past the best place to go for oriental food but now it just plain sucks because they are serving american food sausage roast beef etc if I wanted that I would somewhere else to eat the prices have gone sky high while the quality of food has gone way down and that is a 25 year observation it s gotten so bad we stopped eating there read more

It has all the basics nothing special . And when you pay with card they get weird about the tip.

They claim to have a full menu. They don't. Stopped by after calling to find out the menu is limited and if you order from it all they do is go to the buffet and scoop it out from there. I haven't been here for a while. But, decided try it recently. It wasn't too shabby. Most of the standard Chinese food fare. The buffet comes with unlimited soft drink refills. They only thing that they didn't have (perhaps only that day in particular) was a kung pao dish - my favorite being chicken. But, they had a decent selection of seafood, which I wasn't really in the mood for that day. We topped it off with a soft serve ice cream cone to go. Lunch is $2 cheaper. Adults are about $15 for dinner. They have sort of weird pricing for a kids meal, dependent on what time you're dining with them. read more

I would give this Chinese buffet restaurant a half a star but I can't. This was super disappointing little options of food inside. Also the fried chicken always runs out and if there is chicken left it would be half cook. Food wasn't that great wouldn't recommend coming here save your money and your time. This place gets the job done hahah. We just got done visiting the Grand Canyon and wanted somewhere to eat. I would like to shamelessly admit that my family is a huge fan of cheap Chinese Buffets so we stopped by here haha. Needless to say this place met all of our expectations! The food was decent at best but there was a lot of it, everything was pretty sanitary, and the lady who served us was extremely kind and had a great sense of humor which enlightened our experience that much more :) Our plates were taken pretty quickly as well! When you walk in you are greeted with a smile. We got lucky and we're seated right next to the fish tank so we got to watch them swim around while we ate. Stopped here on his way home after a long day at work with his buddy. We gave it 2 stars only because there wasn't a lot of food as expected, since it is considered a "buffet." There were limited options on the items and it didn't seem as though the food was fresh. Thankfully the waitress continually checked on us so that was nice. I chose to eat the rice, noodles and lots of variety of chickens dipped in various sauces. I wish the food was more flavorful than it tasted. It looked good but then when I tasted it it was very bland, as well as really greasy. This is a spot where a lot of tourists go and the sights are really pretty. I may have to give them another try if I'm ever in the area again, but it's not going to be my first choice. I hope that others have a better experience & maybe they were just having a bad bad or an "off" day, but I think they should focus just a tad more on the food and what they are serving. read more

I feel dissatisfied after i eat every time i come here because they have a 5 star potential. With a little renovation and a little more pride in the food it will be a great place to come regularly. The food is completely hit or miss. Less than half the time i come the food is fresh and amazing but the other times its cold and takes them some time to exchange the food item (fortunately it doesn't take anymore than 5 to 10 minutes to change). The servers are attentive and quick and exchange little words which i personally prefer but they i have seen them portray rudeness and denied a table a preferred place to sit. This is one of the only all you can eat Chinese restaurants in flagstaff so they have a monopoly. I say come try it out, eat here and decide for yourself. read more

Of the two Chinese buffets I've been to in Flag, I definitely prefer this one, even if the selection is smaller I've been here twice and the food is decent especially for the price - $6.95 including a drink plus senior citizens or students get a discount. My favorite thing on the buffet line are the chicken wings. They usually are fried nicely and have a great flavor. The rest of the entrees aren't bad either - what you'd expect from any buffet I guess. Another thing to note is that the service is very friendly. The wait staff struck up conversations with everyone, and were prompt with refills on drinks. I think they love entertaining the toddlers and children as well. read more

Stopped in here cuz we grabbed a 10% off coupon at the Flagstaff visitor center. They no longer accept them. Not a huge selection, but was pleasantly surprised. OMG, what a difference. Sure there are some items that could be refilled sooner but its a buffet & a pretty darn good one....and for $9 is a freakin' steal! It's not terrible for the price, little bland, food was decent, they do have a Senior price, the staff was very friendly, but didn't understand English very well, got there just before the Asian bus showed up !
