A few options available, but no real clear pricing structure shown on the menu for combinations. Wasn't sure how much a 2-item or a 3-item actually cost. If you purchase a 3-item, be aware they'll try and cram everything into the one styrofoam container and not put the third item into its own container. If you request a separate container, then the price goes up because it is considered a "side item." They are a cash only kind of place. The food was okay, nothing I'd rave about or go back to again. I've been coming to this place for years. Recently my wife went and got us both a plate each. It tasted a little weird but I didn't think anything of it. Sure enough we both go food poisoning. SUNDAY NIGHT JANUARY 19 At 730. Customer service is lousy and the way they treat customers is terrible. Older lady barely speaks English but has a very stingy mentality when it comes to serving beef broccoli. Example. Young Girl was taking care of me and served me the last portion of meat which was a very little scoop. I was fine with that. I was getting ready to pay for my food and older Chinese lady gets my tray and puts the meat back saying that the girl served to much meat. It was one small scoop literally about 4-5 pesces. She made me wait 7 minutes for the fresh tray to be made. Received the tray Poured nothing but broccoli no beef . I was very disappointed to see they would go to that extreme to actually take back the serving and make me wait 7 min. For new serving. I told her please put the portion back I didn't want that and she had a terrible attitude. Lousy customer service. I feel sorry for the young girl who served me because at least she was nice and respectful and for me that goes a long way. Older Chinese lady needs to take a class on customer service and taking back what's been served. Food was like any other basic place. Nothing different. I used to come here when I was a young teenager and thought it was good. Came here recently and I'm baffled on how people can think this is the best chinese food in Whittier!? First off they serve so slow! Secondly the chow mein is so thin and has absolutely NO flavor, the beef in the broccoli beef looks VERY questionable as to what kind of meat it is. The only decent thing that I tried was the orange chicken, which wasn't all that great. I personally do not like panda express that much mainly because of their thin undercooked chow mein, but i'd rather eat that than to eat at China Wok Express again. read more

This is the go-to hole in the wall Chinese Food place. Less than $6 for 2 Sides and rice and/or chow mien. Their orange chicken, broccoli beef, and BBQ pork are my favorite. Although the BBQ pork can be a little chewy sometimes. Overall it's a decently priced and tasty local restaurant. read more

the chow mein is probs the best thing they serve here and the teriyaki chicken is EW!They do give you large portions and it really is the only chinese fast food in whittier to go to BUT if you're looking for friendly customer service go else where because the two women that usually work there are not really customer friendly lol.The orange chicken is good when its fresh,but if it's been sitting there in the pan its kind of gross and soggy.They do not accept credit cards so bring cash unless you want to use their little ATM machine they have in front of the line where everyone can see.All in all the food here is OK and the place isn't that big for large amounts of people to dine in. read more

For some reason I always find myself comparing other Chinese food to this place. Love the taste. Large servings. Filled to the very top whenever I go. And it's only 6 bucks. Food is DRY. Everything tastes old like it's been sitting around all day under those heat lamps. The chicken was like eating hard chewy jerky with sauce on it. It is what it is. The food is cheap and okay, and it's the closest place to my house. The chow mein is alright - not too greasy like some other places, but not very flavorful either. The beef and broccoli is 80% vegetables, and the pieces of beef are tiny. I don't recommend the teriyaki chicken. The BBQ pork is decent, but nothing special. The egg rolls aren't very good. The only thing that is particularly delicious here is the orange chicken. Again, you get what you pay for, and you don't pay very much. Serving sizes are rather generous though. read more

The food is acceptable, however, this a very unfriendly place. This place does not take credit cards nor ATM's card. This place has the ability to link the credit card, ATM to their cash registers but they are not interested in you as costumer but rater as a money source. why, they have an ATM machine which charges 2 to 3 dollars. So you visit this place 2 times ,and are out of cash, the worker point you to the ATM machine, and you will lose 4 to 6 dollar to use the machine. So please, join me to get rid of business like this which not only make monies on food but rip you off for the USE of an ATM.
