    "Shrimp fried rice"

Terrible experience!!! To start the crab Rangoon's didn't even have a tea spoon of filling. The shrimp and chicken fried rice were anywhere near fried rice. seems to be sourced from the Mexican place next door. No egg no thing, just huge pieces of diced onions and carrots . Asked for extra chicken and shrimp and it's like if I told them don't give me any. Way overpriced for the quality of food there. Wouldn't recommend it all.

    Where's the beef

I ordered a beef chop Suey and I'm still trying to find the beef supposedly it was a lunch special with no pop or egg roll

The crab Rangoon's were such a disappointment! They literally just had a shell with little nothing inside each of the 6. Ordered off of Uber eats and couldn't receive a refund For $7 it was a waist of time, money and was such a disappointment.

Yu Sian ( ordered spicy ) pot stickers, egg roll. Good stuff.

Place is near my house. Often get pickup or delivery. Hardly ever eat there. Some stuff is great; Pot stickers Egg Roll Hot and Sour Sesame Chicken Yu Sian Chicken ( order spicy ) Mixed Vegetable ( also order spicy ) All others have been fine. These days, their ingredients are fresher and much better quality.

The WORST fried rice I've ever had. Yellow Spanish rice, PLAIN unseasoned chicken. NONE OF IT HAS BEEN FRIED.

Just moved to the area, a few blocks from this establishment. Figured I give them a go and order some chicken fried rice. When I got my food I was surprised to notice that it wasn't even fried rice. The rice was yellow rice that had absolutely no flavoring and a few peas, carrots and LOT of chopped up, either white or yellow onions. AND THE CHICKEN, the chicken was slimey and some pieces were still pink and not cooked what so ever. The entire dish had NO seasoning or flavoring at all. As I picked through it with my fork I became aware that this rice or anything in the dish was never fried. It is obvious to me everything in here was microwaved. When I called for an explanation, not only was the person on the other side of the phone rude, but also completely unwilling to do ANYTHING to rectify my purchase of completely UNFRIED yellow rice and microwaved chicken. I will be telling everyone I know that this place is NOT worth the time or the money.

Decent Mongolian beef, long wait for food, if you order when they are preparing party trays. $10 min to use a CC or Debit Card.

I'm glad I waited because my options expanded to the entire menu, not just a one-off veggie dish!! Everything me and my partner tried was delicious. The service was so welcoming, kind, and hospitable. The place was nearly empty when we arrived and got a couple more tables during our stay. There was music on and off. It didn't feel air conditioned. To meat eaters: I understand the letdown of the menu you once loved changing drastically, and I know, who are you to trust me... but please don't write Luong Loi off completely. Maybe for one of the times when you go out to eat or order food, you can try doing veggie and support this lovely place. :-) For the appetizer, we were recommended the Mushroom Pani Puri. It was savory, great textures, with a very tiny bit of spice. For my partner's entree, he got the Fresh Rice Noodle with Crispy Rolls & Vegan Ribs. He loved it. I tried the vegan rib and it was delicious! For my entree, I got the Half-Moon Tofu Fried Rice with Vegetables & Vegan Sausage. This was so yum, great combo of flavors, savory and smokey, and the eggy crispy tofu was really great! Drink: Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk, brewed at our table with a Vietnamese phin filter that's placed over the cup. Stirred and poured over ice for a cold drink. This was nearly identical to how I make/prefer coffee at home, so it was PERFECTION.

While in the area, my party of four decided to drop by Hong Ning to have Filipino food for lunch…read more The restaurant is in a small strip plaza and the Filipino bakery next door is owned by the same family. We arrived on a Saturday just after noon and plenty of parking spaces were available in the parking lot. The restaurant was very spacious with Filipino decor throughout. Approximately half of the tables were occupied with diners and my party was seated right away. We were pretty hungry and ordered several items to share family style. Pork sinigang arrived first and had the distinct tamarind flavor I expected without overpowering the rest of the dish. Lechon kawali came next and the pork belly pieces were cut into perfect bite sized pieces full of flavor and crunch; the lechon tasted good with and without the liver gravy sauce. Crispy sisig arrived on a sizzling plate and was seasoned very well in the mixture of sauce and onions; I liked that the pieces of pork were mostly meat unlike other places which like to sneak in cubes of fat. Crispy pata kare kare was the next dish to arrive and at first glance the portion was huge; the portion was very generous with pork and vegetables and was very delicious. Lastly, we had BBQ pork and chicken skewers, each of which were marinated and grilled very well. To drink, I had the sago gulaman which was very refreshing and had the right amount of sweetness. Overall, I was very impressed with my lunch at Hong Ning. Aside from the generous portions, the dishes were not too oily or salty and it is rare to dine at a Filipino restaurant that prepares its food in way that doesn't feel like it is clogging up arteries. Along the wall in the back by the restroom is a collage of Filipino and Filipino American celebrities that dined at the restaurant, which surprised me for a restaurant in the suburbs. I highly recommend Hong Ning for anyone craving a great Filipino meal while in the Carol Stream area.

Maybe not in chi city but certainly around these DuPage boonies.. Tonight for the first time I dared myself to get the green chicken curry - the hotter one. (It's the opposite of Mexican! Holy shit he said to Self) For some reason unlike normally, I didn't ask them forany extra veggies, didn't tell them to cool it down, I didn't say anything I just said give me the green curry with chicken. And it was easily the best thing I've eaten in months. Perfect balance of chicken to vegetables to this authentic curry sauce which brought me right up to my heat limit but no more and the taste was full, varied and incredible! (Pad see ew w/ beef and Chicken pad Thai were my common go tos and are still excellent year after year). Bon appetit in Thai language!
