The peking duck is amazing here at China Wok. I came here with one other person and ordered half a Peking Duck and an order of the Fish with Black Bean Sauce. The fish entree wasn't on their english menu, but it was on a piece of paper attached to the wall (written in Chinese) along the side of the booth tables. Don't let the modest digs fool you; this is some exceptional Chinese food--quite possibly the best in the DC area. The Peking duck here is incredible--the skin was insanely crispy with not too much fat, and the meat was extremely tender. Even better, Chef Wang--whom the owner has convinced to come out of retirement--is there most evenings and will slice the duck expertly at your table. You can tell he really loves his work. It might even be better than Peking Duck House in Manhattan Chinatown--and that's saying something. Also extremely delicious is the tofu with eggplant, as well as the beef noodle. Hard to go wrong here. Service was excellent; the owner, Vera, is really friendly. Prices are very reasonable; most entrees are around $10, although some (veggie and noodle entrees) are as low as $8. The Peking duck is $28 but serves 2-3 people. Weekday lunch specials are $6.50. It's in the shopping center with the Marshall's on Leesburg Pike. This is just another mediocre DC-area Chinese restaurant. There seems to be a "buzz" about their Peking duck but our half-duck was skinny and not particularly tasty. Greens were overcooked and did not seem that fresh. Not terrible but not worth the money and service is bizarre - if this restaurant was in China it would be broke and closed by now. It must be family members rating or something. As we walked in, I looked passed the "hole in the wall" atmosphere (dirty) and anxiously waited for our duck. The service sucked! The lady was not very friendly and as she was distributing our plates and utensils, she literally tossed it! I don't expect high class service but common courtesy and decent professionalism is expected. Now to the supposedly the great duck which is why we came here.... OMG it was the worse duck ever! And the size was so small! Maybe we got unlucky because I don't understand the high ratings on the duck and the master carving! What a joke! It was carved with full of greasy fat and the skin was so soggy it was ridiculous! I would happily pay the $10 more and eat at Peking Gourmet!!! My friend recommended the peking duck from this place. I googled it and found about 8 China Wok in VA. We thought it is a chain restaurant and wanted to go to the one in Chantilly because it is closer to where we live. At the end we have decided to go to the China Wok in Vienna since my friend dinned at this one. We were so glad that we drove the extra miles because the peking duck here is so good that my spouse loves it even more than the peking duck from Peking Gourmet. I found out from the restaurant owner that China Wok is an individual owned restaurant and she did not know there are about 8 China Wok in VA. She was so nice and gave us a Beef Chow Fun on the house for thanking us telling her about there are other China Wok in the area. I definitely will go back and I will bring my parents and siblings with me because they are tired eating the same things from the Chinese restaurants in the area and I am sure they will like the Chinese dishes from this place. read more

So this is one of my go to restaurants in NoVA, but why only 3 stars? It has, in my opinion, the best Peking Duck in the area, and that alone makes it worth a periodic visit. The price has gone up a bit over the years, but it is still a better deal than Peking Gourmet Inn. The problem is the rest of the menu. Though I keep trying for some reason, everything else I've had here is below average on quality, and above average on price. Some dishes, like the Dan Dan noodles are simply atrocious. Went here for lunch with my Dad yesterday. For some reason they didn't have drinks listed on their menu, so I stuck to the water they served at the table. Unfortunately it wasn't more than room temp tap water, and it didn't taste that great. We had to signal for a waiter to take our order, otherwise they kind of just hung around. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and they ended up drenching my chicken in it rather than serving it on the side like most places I've eaten at. The sauce was sickly sweet and I think the meal's given me food poisoning. For the prices they charge, it leaves a lot to be desired. I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. read more

For the last six years I have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Vienna and Tysons area and I was continuously disappointed until finally today my good luck struck when I stumbled upon China Wok. Having less than satisfactory experiences with other Chinese restaurants in the area, I honestly made sure not to get my hopes too high even if the restaurant looked very cozy and clean, and the staff was warm and welcoming. But to my delight, my family and I enjoyed the Beef Szechuan, Orange Chicken, and the Triple Delicacy. The three dishes were so delicious we all helped ourselves to seconds and thirds. Hands down, the best Peking Duck in Northern Virginia. It's a hole in the wall in a shopping center around Tysons, it's not all popular like Peking Gourmet but their peking duck is deliciously mouthwatering. No need to wait like other places, they seat you right away and the duck is prepared at your table. Sometimes they give you the duck bones so you can take home to make soup. This is the worse Chinese restraurant I've ever been to. I grew up in Beijing, China, where is known for the roasted Peking duck. The duck we ordered at China Wok tasted nothing like what I had in Beijing. Besides, The duck was so small, like the size of a chicken! The other dish we ordered was fried rib with garlic, which tasted so bad that made me want to throw up! The service wasn't good either! The waitress was cold to us.
