After researching and talking to close friends who used various companies, we decided to confirm with Careful Movers. They are not the cheapest, but they by far exceeded our expectations during our move. Starting with my inquiry, Mat, our Moving Consultant, was quick to respond and very patient in answering all my questions. Securing our moving date and processing our deposit were smooth processes. Leading up to our move date, Shenna called and emailed with reminders for any last-minute tasks and collected information so our moving team knew exactly what we needed on the date. On moving day, we had a crew of 3 movers: Enrique, Ismael, and Jose/Luis. They were punctual and arrived at our apartment right on time to get started on our move. After walking them through our apartment, discussing expectations, and signing the agreement, they went to work. This team was quick, and I mean QUICK, to disassemble and pack the truck. However, this does not mean they were sloppy by any means. Everything from our baby's furniture to our 75-inch TV was packed with the utmost care. Despite the rain, all of our belongings arrived safely at our new rental and were reassembled exactly as we asked. My husband and I are extremely happy with the services provided by this team and Careful Movers. We wouldn't hesitate to schedule with them again or refer them!

What I encountered was end-to-end excellence, from customer service to their excellent moving team. I knew our move would be a large one, so I booked a 26' truck and five-person crew. As the day of the move approached, I had lots of last-minute worries and questions and Sam, in Customer Service, answered every one and generally calmed my nerves, assuring me my move team would assist if we needed last-minute help. On the day of the move, the team arrived right on time. The foreman, Guillermo, assessed our situation and calmly confirmed my suspicious that we'd need two trucks (this my error, not OnTrack's). Before I could panic, he had contacted his team and we arranged that ours be a two day move. Guillermo's team wrapped our furniture and had the truck loaded swiftly. At the new house, we had a few of our family help direct traffic. I'd labelled every box with a color-coded room label and the team got everything to the proper room. On day two, Sammy -- part of the original crew -- acted as lead and we repeated the process. Here, a number of items still needed a bit of packing and his team had everything done in record time and -- bless them - marked the boxes for the proper room destinations without prompting. As I now unpack, I'm finding everything in excellent condition and couldn't be more grateful. We'd heard stories about moving nightmares and wanted to share a happy ending. Guillermo and Sammy were AMAZING and their crews were very hard working. Tips: my sister had a table of bottled waters, bags of chips, and other snacks ready for the team when we arrived at the new house. The team appeared grateful for the sustenance. I had a very small move including: 52" flat screen 42" flat screen Standard 5 drawer dresser, approx 6ft 5 seater sofa (breaks down into 2 sections) Coffee Table Desk (very light) Standard rolling office chair California King sleep number bed 6 hours. Both buildings with elevators, both less than 15 feet walking from elevator to truck/truck to elevator. 6 hours. They allocated 2 men for the job, which based on the inventory I could find a way to understand. But this was almost the equivalent of a fully furnished 2 bedroom home. 6 hours and not providing any form of concession is absurd. And nice gentlemen, but this wasn't exactly white glove service. Half of the items they didn't even ask where I wanted them placed or oriented. And they tracked over my brand new rug multiple times no booties even though I was adamant about that before the move began. Used a slow, manual hand wrench to try and take a flat screen TV mount off. Maybe power tools would have been better/faster? Didn't have a door stopper... maybe a moving company has a few of those handy for jobs? 6 hours. Would not recommend, wish I could do this over. 6 hours.

The first time, I had to move from Union City to a storage facility in Elk Grove and this past weekend we had two teams going, one from San Jose to Elk Grove and the other from the storage facility to our new home. Pure Moving was perfect in all ways possible. They were professional, prompt, efficient, and super friendly. They handled and wrapped items with care and made you feel at ease that everything was going to be safe and secure. They disassembled furniture as needed and reassembled it on site. One great detail, they laid down plastic protectors everywhere to keep things clean and tidy where they would be stepping. And cleaned up all the plastic wrap/coverings, cardboard and tape they used while packing and unpacking. They literally took care of all the heavy - and even the light - lifting! I always have a huge amount of glass and other fragile items that need to be moved and the team is always respectful and does a great job protecting surfaces, furniture and goods. I have mixed feelings about my move. On one hand, booking was very easy and Pure Moving was able to…read moreaccommodate my move in 2 days notice. My movers communicated when they would arrive and showed up on time. I feel they overall handled my belongings with care and things went smoothly and efficiently. I was moving things from a 10x10 storage unit into a 1 bedroom apartment about an hour and a half away, with 1 stop to pick up a couch along the way. Total time took about 5.5 hours. On the other hand, things got weird when it was time to pay. I didn't appreciate feeling pressured when they tried to tell me that a 30% tip was the standard. I gave them 20%, which I felt was a good tip and standard for a good job. I was also pressured into writing both a Yelp and Google review, leaving them 5 stars as they hovered over me. I am coming back and editing my review now that I've had time to reflect on things. This explains all of the 5 star reviews!
