We started with the oysters, crudo, charred avocado, charbroiled Moroccan octopus, hot pull-and-tear bread, and the deep-fried Brussels sprouts. Every dish was packed with incredible flavour, beautifully presented, and perfect for sharing. For our entrées, we had the Branzino and the Dukkah Roasted Lamb Sirloin with yam chips, and both were cooked to perfection. To complement our meal, we enjoyed two bottles of Bojador wine, which paired beautifully with our entrées and elevated the entire dining experience. We couldn't leave without dessert. The Portuguese tarts served with gelato were absolutely delicious--warm, flaky, and the perfect balance of sweetness. We also had the crème brûlée, which had a perfectly crisp caramelized top with a rich, creamy custard underneath. It was the perfect way to end an incredible meal. A huge thank you to Sarah and Jeff, who made both visits so memorable. They were warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. Their exceptional service was just as impressive as the food. It's rare to leave a restaurant and immediately want to come back the very same day, but Fishbone Aurora absolutely earned it. Food came out relatively quick (there were only 1-2 other occupied tables when we were there). Service was excellent. The music playing in the background was a combination of hip-hop, R&B, and jazz. The dining room had a casual and relaxed ambiance, with a somewhat dark lighting and fake candle on every table. We got the Seafood Platter for 2, but there was enough food for 4-5 people. It came with 2 big pieces of salmon, a whole "market fish catch of the day" (not sure what fish it was, but it tasted like swordfish and was very tasty), 2 lobster tails, crab legs, baby octopus, squid / calamari, scallops, shrimps (which we opted to change for extra scallops), and some microgreens on top for garnish. We could choose to have the seafood grilled, fried, or a mix of both - we chose the grilled option. All of the seafood came on a long wooden board, with lots of butter at the bottom (I wish they didn't put any / so much butter!). The Seafood Platter came with a side of grilled vegetables (rapini, asparagus, carrot) and baby potatoes. We added on an extra plate of the grilled vegetables and potatoes, as well as Arugula Salad. The variety of the seafood in the Seafood Platter was excellent. They were very generous with portion size. Everything was really tasty and I loved the charred grill mark, especially on the scallops. They pre-cracked the crab legs and lobster tails, making it easier to eat. The crab and baby octopus came as a surprise (to our delight!), because the menu didn't say that the platter would come with those 2 types of seafood. The "market fish catch of the day" came as a whole fish and de-boned (just the filet and skin). I liked this more than the salmon, which was cooked well done. The whole meal costed us $455 and this included the autograt of 20%. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This was for 6 mothers day brunch meals and a kids pasta. We were 7 people with 2 kids, we placed our order and waited. There were 3 tables of 4 that came in after. We saw each table receive their food before ours. I asked the waitress and they said it was coming. After we saw one more table that came in after get served, I asked the kitchen this time and they said they do it by the ticket. If that was the case we would have had our food before all this other tables. Literally all it was, was halibut and chips and that's what all those tables were served. Never seen service like this and customer service. I guess business is so good that they do need it. Would never recommend this place.

I was dining in so it was surprising to find my soup served in a styrofoam take out container. This made eating the dish a little challenging, with the 8 petit wontons on top, then a layer of box choy, and then I get to the noodles. My next surprise was the rice noodles instead of egg noodles. I don't think I have ever had this dish anywhere on rice noodles. I figured out why: rice noodles need a flavourful broth, like in Pho, but this broth was pretty weak. I stopped halfway through the container. I suspect this place will be a nice alternative to nearby Swiss Chalet and Harvey's, especially if you like the hot table Chinese food like they serve in the mall food court. I'll have to try again with a different dish to see if I can raise the rating. In the meantime, there are some choice authentic Chinese restaurants in the area for me.

They were very accommodating although they didn't have any spots open for 6:30 or 7 pm which would've been ideal (it was either 5 pm or 8 pm). My entire party arrived 15-20 min early for our 8 pm scheduled res and as I (obviously) expected, the resto was absolutely packed out the wazoo around the front entrance. I quickly walked up to the reception and gave one of the hostesses my name, party size and # of guests. She told me it would be a 10-15 min wait as they finished preparing our table and gave me a buzzer to hang onto. After 20 min, I walked up to the front desk again where they proceeded to tell me that the table wasn't ready yet.... ok, we'll be patient but it's past our res time. Another 20 mins pass and I'm inquiring again at which point I think it was either the owner or manager comes out and tells us that the tables ready but the guests at the table aren't leaving. So then I'm a little annoyed and after ANOTHER 20 mins pass I ask again at which point the manager finally moves the guests occupying our table. For a total of 1 hour wait time past our allotted res, I would have to agree with reviewer, Bert F that the reservations should be honoured lol. Ok. Now that I've talked about that. They DID redeem themselves somewhat in my eyes. A BUNCH of appetizers for our group (I think 6 in total) on the house. There was a mom and dad in my party with a young child and she was SOOOO CRANKY because we were seated way past our dining time. Poor thing. Food was phenomenal still, as always. The Keg never disappoints on that front. Got my usual go-to order of the secret menu 24 oz prime rib, medium rare. Cooked perfectly, very juicy, very tender, very thick piece of meat. Twice baked potato was exquisite. Service was also pretty good for the night. Marcy and .... Sean I think his name was?? They almost forgot my complimentary billy miner pie slice but thankfully remembered before the bill arrived. I thought about dropping my rating down to 3 stars PURELY for the diabolical wait time but the food was still great, the service was good, still got my complimentary billy miner pie and we got free apps. Oh, and they also didn't rush us out of the resto when most of the dining tables had cleared out (actually the resto, in particular the bar was still pretty dang full still). We finished dining around midnight. So in light of all this, I only drop one star from my original 5 star review. Hopefully, next year if I do book here again we won't have to wait 1 hr past the scheduled res time.

The haddock was good - tasty & reasonably crispy even eaten 15 mins later as takeout. The chips had an authentic British crispiness, so they'd have been better when fresh. The shrimp was coconut shrimp rather than being normal battered shrimp (this isn't mentioned on the main menu, but elsewhere). It was decent, though the slightly spicy cocktail sauce did not really go with it. There was quite a bit of "shrimp" (i.e. reformed shrimp patty with a shrimp tail stuck in). Both dishes came with a small serving (sauce container) of coleslaw. It was decent - crisp & tasty, though a touch sharp.
