While I was waiting for my online order in the store, I had to witness the workers yelling at the top of their lungs when ingredients were running out, being entirely inefficient, and failing to complete orders in a timely manner. They were also wiping the counter with their gloved hands. Worst of all, a man came in to talk with an employee, and he was understandably disgruntled that the store was doing online orders only. As soon as the customer left, the employee started complaining to her coworker about "a big black guy who just bothered her" and mocking the man. Entirely false, racist, and unprofessional. No apology for the wait: nothing. 2 hours before close and they close in restaurant ordering (posted on the door) so you can only order online and you are forced to wait an hour for your food that should have been ready upon the arrival time. It baffles me as to how a location can be out of queso blanco for weeks, but still allow people to order AND be charged for it when they get it delivered, without informing anyone of the lack of ingredient. I only go to Chipotle for the amazing flavor the queso blanco adds to the food. If they don't have it, I don't order. I spent over an hour playing tag between the store and corporate just to get my money refunded for the charge of the sauce. I waited about three weeks before trying again, assuming they would've restocked, but to my dismay they once again charged me and didn't actually have the item. I went here multiple times, but never had this bad experience. We have Ordered two sofarita bowls with white rice. White rice was not cooked properly and it was still grainy. Once I informed that the rice wasn't cooked the way they responded felt like rude and wasn't satisfactory. They just said to take new rice and expected me to just transfer the veggies to the new bowl which i felt really bad. If they would have replaced my bowl I would have felt better. After they got the new rice there was a new person from kitchen who provided the rice and she was good and offered if i need more veggies. This is the only reason i am providing the 2 stars. I solicited this Chipotle for a pickup order placed online and after waiting for my food and getting about halfway through my plate, I found a dark curly piece of hair maybe 6 inches long in the spoonful I just put in my mouth. I tried calling the establishment and got no answer so I drove back. When I told the manager, his reaction was to place his hands in his hips and marvel at the length of the hair I found in my bowl and wonder out loud how it happened. It was really odd and inappropriate, especially considering this interaction took place while he donned a mask about 3 inches in diameter that just barely covered his mouth and allowed his long black beard hair to stick out from every direction (I wonder whose hair it was). He actually didn't address the situation at first and tried to ask me to wait while he took another customer. Which again was odd. Why acknowledge me and my problem only to then divert your attention to the next customer without even offering a solution? He was not apologetic and seemed peeved that he had to issue me the refund that I had to prompt him to provide. I've never had any previous issues here but they're obviously not following food safety or COVID protocol. read more

it's almost impressive how long it takes them to do anything. and since you can watch them work, you can see that they stand there idly while there is a line of customers past the door. the food is okay quality but if you order anything online you're almost guaranteed to be missing an item from your dish, and if you go inside, you're likely to be waiting in a 20 min+ line. I finally got my food (after 45 mins of waiting, 5+ mins of standing at the cash register staring at my food) and they didn't even have forks for me to eat it! this is not the first time that I've gone here and this is not even the worst experience that I have had there. There were three other people in front of me waiting. If I had to wait 20 mins I know they were there longer. The worker asked if he could attend to the tickets instead of her first.. but still took 10 mins to even go back to her. She wound up leaving. It still took another 15 mins to be served. I arrived there and my food was not on the shelf I figured they were busy and didn't get to my order yet I stood there waiting amongst others who ordered online for over 10 minutes. The space is modern and bright (for a fast-food joint), the "food with integrity" concept is really promising, but unfortunately I left feeling underwhelmed. She added rice and beans and passed my plate to the next server in line. Even though we were made to wait at the counter for a minute or two before someone took our order (which, to me, would imply the staff is laid back and not about to rush) they still sped us through the paces and got three out of four orders wrong. On top of that, the rice was hard and dry (either undercooked or sitting out too long) and the chicken was overcooked and similarly dry and chewy. I visited the Manchester, CT location for the first time a few months ago for a quick bite to eat with the wife. I ordered the chicken burrito bowl with brown rice. My taste buds lit up from the first bite to the last. The food was seasoned to perfection and very tasty. At the time I was dieting for a bodybuilding show and because all I food I ate was had little seasoning, I thought my body may just be reacting something different. My go-to chicken burrito bowl is riddled with GMO's (all the meat options except carnitas are GMO. Because of how often they are ordered, they're constantly being prepared so you'll always get them freshly-cooked. Seating here is plenty, they also have outdoor seating. Chipotle has found a great location, and a staff that is helpful, polite, and cheerful. The dining room is clean and the service is pretty fast. I've seen a long line before, but the staff handled it very well. The customers, not so much :) I do have one gripe - inconsistent portions. In a veggie burrito bowl, the veggies ARE the meat - so the regular one-scoop put in every other burrito bowl doesn't cut it. I've taken to asking for "double veg" - but often their dish of grilled peppers and onions is near empty. That means go without, or waiting on the side for them to grill up some more. Very frustrating. This doesn't happen at their competitor down the road - Moe's - which always has plenty of toppings (and veggies) stocked, but is better designed as a sit-down restaurant. This is overall a very good Chipotle.. I'm a big fan of this chain as is and for the most part they are pretty much the exact same. It's basically a step above fast food, you go in a line and pick ingredients out for your burrito, taco, or taco salad. The meat options generally include steak, barbacoa and chicken. Then there are add ons like tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, salsa, guacamole, sour cream and. Then there are chips as sides, I have always wished Chipotle had more chip options but they just sell their own brand. This location also had beer options. The location was slightly different in that the outside building was slightly fancy and made up of brick. The inside was kept very clean as well. Great chipotle location. read more

We were very pleased with the restaurant. I have to admit, after reading some of the initial reviews back in May & June, we didn't want to chance it because of learning curve that takes place after any restaurant opens in the area. This was a Sunday evening, we were tired after shopping at Buckland Hills Mall, and were hungry. So, we decided to finally try Chipotle since I was having a strong urge for Mexican Taco's etc... As we walked in, we noticed the modern tables and decor. We felt welcomed. For some reason, I did not like the single line. Yes, as mentioned in previous postings, it did have the Subway setup unfortunately...I guess it works because the line did move in a timely fashion. I ordered the crispy taco's , and steak was my choice. My wife ordered a huge Burrito, and our young daughter had a quesadilla. For a drink, we just ordered a large soda, and shared it...Was set up like McDonald's...you can have free refills so why bother buying a second cup. My three crispy tacos were very tasty and was overflowing with cheese & lettuce on top...and plenty of meat on the bottom. It was certainly a big mouthful, and the best part was I didn't create a mess because the crispy taco was big and sturdy for the most part. My wife liked the large Burrito, but said it tasted good, but she still preferred The Three Amigos in Manchester, because they had more choices to build your Burrito. Our young daughter just loved her quesadilla and wanted me to buy her a second one because it was so yummy! I really like their brown rice bowls and you must try the chipotle Tabasco sauce if you can handle spicy. I ordered my burrito and it came out mediocre at best. I've only been to a Chipotle one other time and was not impressed. But I was so hungry and wanted Mexican and it was around the corner from the shops at Buckland Hills. The service was meh. We got our burritos and the cashier was like here ya go. I pointed out that she forgot our chips no salsa (they charge extra for a bit of salsa god forbid) and the cashier was like "I didn't charge you for it, it's $1.35" so grabbed my receipt and showed her that yes you did charge me for it. So I got my little brown bag of chips to go with my dry burrito and....I don't think I need to write anymore. Mediocre burrito, dirty tables and careless service.
