Today order to go bun Bo hue, was recommended by a family member. Pros taste good, good amount of vegetable. Cons not enough meat, 3 slides of beef, 1 piece of pork blood and 1 small pork bone. As meat eater I like my food to have descent amount of meat and not just 3 slices of meat as picture shows. I'll consider to dine in to see if is any difference in the quality of this dish. Will update post in the future visit

Love authentic Vietnamese porridge with blood sausage and intestines? This Bolsa Ave spot is a must-try! Their cháo lòng (intestine porridge) is my ultimate comfort food--rich, warming, and packed with blood sausage, intestines, and with all the meaty texture. Can't get enough of the sausage (dồi) or Chinese donuts (cost extra) for maximum satisfaction. I usually order a side of their combo intestines plate, best dipped in their addictive sticky anchovy sauce--it's so good, I can't get enough. The vibe is no-frills, service is okay but what do you expect from mostly a takeout restaurant. They do have a small seating area if you want to eat fresh and hot. Perfect for adventurous eaters, not for the squeamish!

    Chicken Chao with Goi

I was really craving some chao so I made a call-in order and arrived 15 minutes later to pick it up. There was an ample amount of parking and the food was ready by the time I got there. I got the chicken chao with a side of goi (Vietnamese salad) and a Chinese donut for dipping. When I got home, the chao was still steaming hot and delicious. It is comforting but still flavorful, with small pieces of pork blood. The goi was delicious! It came with a ginger dipping nuoc mam dipping sauce but the salad itself was already seasoned and refreshing. It had cabbage, pickled daikon and carrots, a huge amount of peanuts, fried onions, Vietnamese herbs, and shredded chicken. The chicken was tender and paired perfectly with the hot chao. The donut was a little too chewy but nothing a quick minute in the air fryer can't fix! About $10 for a super satisfying and hearty meal. I was able to eat this for both dinner and lunch the next day. I'll definitely come back here for my next chao craving. I heard their organ chao is really good!

Haven't tried many of their items but I'm obsessed with their mam Tom. Hopefully I'll get to try some other items soon. Will have to come back

This has been the first time I've been here in a while and I was thoroughly surprised by the taste of the porridge. In the porridge, I wasn't really sure what was in it but I believe it was a bunch of chicken parts like liver and heart. They had pork blood in there too and some type of gray sausage. I primarily liked the gray sausage portion a lot. The pork blood is also super good, my mom normally gets her pork blood here and uses it in her bun bo hue. In regards to the sides, I would not recommend adding lime to the porridge, it changes the flavor drastically, I think adding a little bit of fish sauce is okay though. Overall, still pretty good for Vietnamese porridge.

We only come here for one item and that's for the Bo La Lot. It's one of the seven items in the 7 course beef. My mom likes to make bun and add this on to make her own dish. If you come later in the day, this can be sold out. This happened to us last time but they said to wait for 20 minutes as more batches are being made. For a store this small, it sure sells everything from smoothies, food, all the pre-made hot food, cold food, dry food, and meat. You can order food to dine in or take out. This place was packed at 10am with people dining in with no seats left while others were buying meats by the pound or paying for other items.

If you don't mind walking a little, parking is fine. Inside, there was plenty of seating, and even though it was noisy, it is still a popular place to work or study with good lighting. There were lots of people on laptops, and some outlets along the walls for charging. I tried the Sweet Corn Latte and the Pistachio Matcha Latte. The Sweet Corn Latte was aptly named. It was sweet, and the foam on top had a surprisingly authentic corn flavor. I also liked that they offer a decaf version, which isn't something every specialty coffee shop has. The Pistachio Matcha Latte was smoother and more subtle. The pistachio wasn't very strong, but it complemented the matcha nicely. If you enjoy matcha and don't want something overly sweet, it's a good choice. We also ordered the Popcorn Chicken, which ended up being one of the highlights. It was well-seasoned, crispy on the outside, and still tender inside. Definitely one of the better popcorn chickens I have had. Overall, this is a solid café with creative drinks, good food, and enough space to settle in for a while. I'll definitely be back.

This was my first experience with the brand. My visit was to the Fountain Valley location. This store has a drive through window, as well as seating indoors and on an outdoor patio. The on-site dining can be described as fast casual. You step up to the counter and place your order. If eating there, someone will bring your plate to you. Once seated, indoor table service becomes more akin to a coffee shop. On this occasion, I decided to try the pastrami combo plate -- pastrami sandwich, fries and fountain drink ($22.99). With $2.01 tax, the ticket was $25.00 total. (The sandwich is available à la carte.) If you are a heavy eater, this plate will satisfy you. The sandwich was sizable and made fresh to order. There was plenty of pastrami inside. The serving of fries was generous and were served piping hot. Frankly, this plate could feed two people. If you are a fan of "The Hat", you will like the pastrami sandwich here.
