Right by Asian Garden Mall so parking wasn't too hard. The ambience of this restaurant was meant to remind you of Vietnam, but it misses the mark. Prices are a little high and the food was average, nothing to comment on. It is authentic but you can find better and cheaper places. We dined in months ago when this was an option, but by the looks of other reviews, it's take-out only now.

BEWARE!!! FOOD TOO DELICIOUS!!! i came here because I love Hue food (middle region of vietnam). BEST com/bun hen here!! its min clams and rice. its very traditional and comes with a fermented shrimp paste that not alot of westerners can handle, but if youre authentic vietnamese, this is the place to get clam/rice. one portion was ~$11. i also got the combination platter -- Banh beo, Banh Bot Loc, Banh Nam. all were good too, but not the greatest. WARNING: no dine in. this is a FOOD TO-GO shop!!!

Bun bo Hue - lukewarm broth, not enough spice and beef was sooooo chewy

***UPDATE again: The owner is super sweet and has the lightest, sweetest Hue accent I've ever heard. LOVE their bun cha ca da nang. The first time I had this dish was my last day in DaNang in 2011. It was love at first bite. It's hard to believe that with so many restaurants in Orange County, this dish was nowhere to be found until I found a home chef that sells it. I was only able to find Bún Cha Ca Nha Trang - which is nothing like Da Nang style lol Cho Dong Ba's bun cha ca Da Nang exceeds my expectation. For the same price as the home chef ($10), the portion is a looooot bigger and I'm getting more than just 1 piece of bamboo. The broth is sweet from vegetables. Amazing broth. The next dish I want to try is com hen. I had this dish for the very time not too long ago at my friend's and it was soooooo good. They're currently also selling longan and grapefruits to help the flood victims of Hue. It's a bit on the pricer side but instead of donating $10,$25 or whatever, now you get to enjoy the fruits yet also help the flood victims. ($7/lb for longan and $4 for a a BIG pomelo)

While the asparagus and beef spring roll had a different crunch from the asparagus. The pork patties were my favorite, and although there were plenty of the grilled pork, many of them were pieces with a lot of fat. That was my only gripe about it. Now about the hu tieu, which came with all the delicious bbq pork, shrimp, shredded chicken, fried garlic and onions, lightly dressed in an oh so delicious sauce. For me, the sauce was actually the star. Mix everything together and get yourself one delicious bite, filled with so much flavor. The accompanying broth on the side was great as well, with hints of dried shrimp reminiscent of a really good HK wonton noodle soup broth. Highly recommend this place!!

It's pretty much a hole in the wall type of place with some large TV's on the walls if you wanted to watch sporting events like the World Cup. We got banh mi pate que which comes with 2 piece that are breadstick sized filled with pate and pork floss. A great appetizer for sharing or having some coffee with. It comes served piping HOT so be careful! We also had the bun cha ha noi which is a very traditional Northern Vietnamese Nanoi dish. It has grilled pork patties and pork belly in a sweet savory fish sauce served with fresh herbs and cold rice vermicelli. You pretty much eat it by wrapping it with the lettuce or dip your noodles into the sauce. Very authentic and delicious without being overly heavy. There isn't much service here since they seem to be super short staffed but they do have delicious authentic Northern Vietnamese food so we absolutely will be back again!

Mama Hieu's started out during COVID and was a small business that was selling plates from the house and due to all of their success, opened up two brick and mortar locations! The spicy garlic butter chicken was soooo good and crispy! It was actually pretty spicy too. I love how they included the pickled veggies! The box came with 7 wings and two scoops of rice and your choice of sauce. We got the Mama Sauce, which was a mayo like sauce. We didn't know what the Andy's Special flavor tasted like, but the workers explained that the flavor is similar to Vietnamese style crab (cua rang). So like oyster sauce, garlic, fish sauce like flavor; sticky. It was hella good!!! No need to dip in the side sauce either. Their fried chicken comes in many unique flavors like salted egg yolk and fish sauce. We weren't really feeling the garlic noodles; come here for the fried chicken box with rice instead!
