Upon getting in line, there was no cashier for a good 10 minutes to take our order. The couple in front of us also were there to get the chocolate strawberries but when the cashier came she had told us they ran out. I would've appreciated if they announced it before waiting 15 minutes to having to wait for someone to take our order as they were specifically known for that. In addition, the menu was quite confusing as there was an option to create your own crepe and there weren't really much descriptions and a bunch of additional add ons that were more than $1. I think they've read their recent reviews and fixed a lot of their issues that I had saw on older reviews. Came here on a Monday around lunch time. I did expect a wait after reading their reviews but I planned to eat next door any way to kill some time. I ordered first and asked them how long it would be and they estimated 20-30min. No text notification when it's done, they just call out names. No problem, I went next door to order and eat sandwiches anyway. Came back around the 25min mark and waited only a minute for my name to be called. There were more people waiting inside when I came to pick up so they probably get more people the later it gets. The dubai strawberries were pretty good and I would get it again but not if the wait is super long. Decent amount of strawberries and loved the crunchy texture from the knafeh. Originally i think they didn't expect their Dubai chocolate strawberries to get so popular that they weren't prepared with enough workers and also ran out stock for ingredients. I came another time before and they were out of stock. Seems like now they have someone dedicated to cutting up strawberries and another person making the cups and chocolate. Saw a third person as a cashier/floater for the other items. They could probably use one more person as another floater to make things and help where needed to lessen the wait time for customers. I'm really disappointed with the service we experienced. When we walked in, there were three employees working and no other customers. They made eye contact with us but didn't smile, greet us, or acknowledge us at all. We stood there waiting while they continued cutting strawberries and stocking items. It became clear we weren't going to be helped unless we said something first -- which we eventually had to do. Shortly after, other customers who were white-presenting came in and were greeted immediately and warmly. They were allowed to place their order before paying, while we were required to pay before our order was even made. As someone who is not white-presenting, the difference in treatment was very noticeable and uncomfortable. Whether intentional or not, the experience felt discriminatory and unwelcoming. Just tried the new chocolate bash and it's a mixed bag. The chocolate and pistachio themed deserts seem rich and indulgent and their Ferrero Rocher milkshake is amazing. But the sushi crêpe was disappointing. Service is top notch and the person who took our order was so kind. The place gives warm and cozy vibes with desserts displayed on charming home style plates. Got the pancakes with belgian dark chocolate, and the small stack was smothered in chocolate sauce, every single delicious bite. I also ordered an iced mocha with more belgian dark chocolate, cuz I can never get enough, and it had a very distinct taste, not as sweet as I'm used to, though satisfying and strong. I'm curious about the variety of mocha flavors offered (belgian milk chocolate, hazelnut, and more), might just have to try them all. Then my husband also wanted to try the mini pancakes, with light chocolate drizzled on it. I didn't really want it, but oh my goodness, I'm glad we tried it. So fluffy, hot and perfectly cooked. They also aren't heavy, and you leave feeling super light. I could eat like 50 though. I'll 100% be back to try their fruit pancake options. Also, they are extremely kid friendly. My husband and I grabbed lunch in the area, and I wanted to find some place where I could get dessert. Chocolate Bash appeared to be the closest storefront to us. We found Chocolate Bash around the corner from the Starbucks and saw it was a one-stop-shop for many kinds of desserts: smoothies, shakes, sundaes, crepes, chocolate covered bites, waffles, etc. They had quite an expansive menu and even served coffee. Although when I asked if they made affogatos since they basically have all the ingredients for it (espresso and ice cream), I was informed that it's not currently on their menu but will be soon. To be fair, we were informed that they've only been open for 3 weeks and are still doing their soft opening. Awesome customer service. There were two young men at the time, and they were friendly and efficient. The employee at the register was particularly very helpful in explaining their menu items. All I really wanted was a s'mores bite, which exceeded my expectations. The marshmallow was gooey on the inside, the graham crackers were crunchy as if they came right out of the box, and the milk chocolate encasing was solid chocolate. My husband got the bash roll that included two types of fruit in a crepe and whatever drizzle we wanted on top. He got strawberry banana with hazelnut spread. For some reason I thought it was going to look the way the store had the bash roll on display, a smooth chocolate syrup on top. However, I believe that must've been the Belgian milk chocolate option, which we didn't get. Though the crepe was overall fine, I felt like it needed ice cream... again, an add-on we didn't get. Over Priced, understaffed, over hyped!!! Owner of this establishment is very rude and disrespectful. I went from being a regular customer to never coming back because of how the owner has treated me and my family. First, they charge 20 dollars for a small cup of 4/5 strawberries that's topped with chocolate and pistachio drizzle / paste topping which is outrageous. The 3rd and 4th time I came the portions were even smaller. When mentioning to the owner the portions were smaller this time around he chalked it up to cost of product etc. which is understandable yet hard to digest when we already feel 20 is outrageous for product he's providing. I posted a photo of what they serve for 20 dollars you guys be the judge if you think this is worth it or not. Second, this place is understaffed. It took them 30 minutes to give me 5 strawberries with toppings and I was the only customer in line at the establishment. Owner is too focused on friends n family that are visiting. I can only imagine if they're busy what the wait time and quality of service would be. Third, for the price, quality of service, and product there are many other places that are more family friendly and welcoming than this place not to mention way more affordable and budget friendly. I came across an instagram page that was advertising this establishment and hyping them up as a must try which later I realized was most likely a friend or family member since they deleted my feedback and blocked me. When I commented my opinion the owner hopped on responding to my comment with a very rude and nasty comment. He was very condescending and unapologetic. Love this place. I've tried a few of the Dubai chocolates and associated sweets in San Jose, this is by far the best. The ratio of chocolate to pistachio is perfect to me. I've had the chocolate bar and the Dubai strawberry cup. The cup had plenty of melted chocolate pistachio cream that I saved the leftover to eat with more strawberries at home. I appreciate that, as the price point is high. That being said, I don't mind paying for the occasional treat that keeps on giving. They also have international chocolate and candy bars. You can also get any of the fruit they sell as a Dubai fruit cup! Be sure to eat it right away because the sauce does harden. The staff is friendly.
