With the hot weather, I've been in the mood for boba drinks. Gong Cha is in a busy complex where it can be a bit hard to get a parking spot sometimes. There is plenty of street parking if you don't find a spot right away. When you walk in, there are a couple of touch screens to place your order. They might have an app or way to order ahead of time, since I saw some people doing that as well. The interior of this spot looked cute, with plenty of seating. I was passing by and I seen this place and it looked really good. I'm guessing it's new. I never seen it before and I went in and the girl didn't know any English or didn't understand anything. I said the place was empty. There's only a couple sitting in the corner of the place and then like two kids sitting at our table I asked the lady is this place new how long has it been here for? I was just wondering I never seen it before. I was excited to try it. She asked one of the kids at the table. She asked her of something and then she came back and said something to me and I did not know anything she said, and I guess that other kid that look like she was 15 sitting at the table the boy I guess she worked there, but she rather be on her phone then help a customer out, especially that I don't know Chinese or the language she speaks. I just thought that was very unprofessional if this is what Business wants to hire is people with kids on their phone and not care about the customers and being lazy that's on you but good luck with your business. I've been here a couple of times - sometimes picking up a quick online order, sometimes to hang out with the bf on a lazy weekend. I've even been here after ordering... Only to realize that I ordered to the wrong location! On this latest trip - I was grabbing a few drinks for myself and coworkers. Since I needed to make sure one of them had no dairy, I couldn't order online or at the kiosk and had to ask the workers. They were very nice and were able to answer all my questions about the drinks. I put in my order with someone in front and then waited for a bit. Everything came out quickly and I was on my way. My go to drink is (currently) the brown sugar milk tea with boba - reduced sweetness. It was delicious as usual. My coworkers all enjoyed their drinks - oolong milk tea w/oatmilk, cheesecake smoothie and brown sugar milk tea. I also ordered the mochi waffle and ate half of it before I even delivered the drinks, lol. The charms were cute as well! Saved one for myself and gave the other one away. This location also has great seating and a large space to lounge and hang out (there are games available) or get some work done. This is a welcomed boba shop in WG. There are 2 self-serve kiosks upon entering that you can order from. You can also order at the register or via their app. I ordered the Oolong Milk Tea with boba ($6.80) and it wasn't my favorite as the tea taste wasn't as prominent as I would like, but I won't hold that against them. The boba is slightly sweet and has a nice texture. Prices are in-line with other boba shops these days. I can't comment much on the service as I ordered via the app and picked up my drink when my number was called. The lady working was friendly when handing me my drink. The place is clean and there are plenty of tables and chairs within. There is plenty of parking as it's located in the corner of retail strip. read more

I love that Gong Cha carries basil and star (peach) jelly. Anytime I'm in the area. I'll stop at Gong cha Willow Glen just so I can get some of that star jelly that I haven't really been able to find anywhere else in the Bay Area. This location is clean, service is friendly and quick. They have kiosks for ordering. The menu itself is your typical menu. Came here on a Wednesday afternoon. There were other patrons, but no line. We could either order at the kiosk or have the employee take our order. The employee was very friendly and helped us with some questions. Our drinks came out pretty quickly. Gong Cha (as a brand) is quite standard when it comes to boba milk tea and it did not disappoint here. My only complaint was that it was a bit too sweet for my liking, even at a lower sugar level (most likely due to the fruit bits). There are tables in the store, so you can sit and chat while you enjoy your drinks. This store is located in a small plaza so there is easily accessible parking. read more

I have to say we were very happy with everything! I would say as someone who normally orders very lightly sweetened or unsweetened boba drinks, 50% sweetened was a shock for me at first, but I think after several sips, it was just right. I was so excited to see that a Gong Cha opened up near me! I know many people think that Gong Cha is just so-so, but I feel like it's one of my OG fave boba stores in the bay because it's very consistent. I always get their regular pearl milk tea and I feel like the taste is very distinct. They usually serve it pretty quick, and they even have an app now that you can download to keep track of your rewards. This location is a lot larger than the previous one I used to go to in Fremont, and I love the new modern design that Gong Cha adapted in their stores. I definitely see many people who come here to catch up with friends or study/go on their laptop as there are many tables in the store. I even noticed that there are a few board games as well. Welcome to Willow Glen Gong Cha! I went for their grand opening BOGO on Saturday night. The space was bright, shiny and new. Surprisingly there was no line. Lucky for us. Good news is that lactose intolerant people like me can enjoy all of their drinks because they use a plant based creamer. Bummer that they ran out of Earl Grey and Oolong Milk Tea. I had the Creme Brûlée Cold Foam Milk Tea. It was good but I probably should have gotten 100 or 75% sweetness. Be forewarned that they close at 8 pm! Quite early for a boba shop. Grand Opening special: BOGO and free boba keychain I've been to other boba shops Grand Opening before. The wait for this location's Grand Opening is a bit ridiculous. I arrived at 1:15 p.m. I left the store with my 2 drinks + boba keychain at 3:25 p.m. The total time was over 2 hours :( They had a DJ and a photographer for the Grand Opening, which I find unique but not worth the 2+ hour wait. The parking lot is pretty small. I parked my car 2 blocks down and walked to Gong Cha. I got 2 of the QQ Passionfruit Green Tea and it's surprisingly refreshing (especially after standing for 2+ hours). Only 1 of the registers are opened. They said they accept Apple Pay.. but maybe the machine was overheating (?) cause Apple Pay did not work for me. I need to use my credit card. read more

This used to be our go-to boba spot but the quality has gone down significantly the past few years. I got a drink a few months ago and the boba was rubbery and hard to chew (tasted like they were from the day before). Thought maybe they had a bad day or batch, went back today for a milk tea and the tea was not good. It tasted like syrup with water. I am a big fan of Gong Cha in general, I'll start with that. On the grand opening day I got here at 12:30 pm. The staff said the wait would be 20-30 minutes. The wait is now approaching 2 hours and there are still about 10 people ahead of me. They were not prepared for the grand opening. They are trying to manage with only one register, while several employees are just standing around waiting to make tea. They should have taken orders manually or set up the online ordering for today to honor the grand opening deals. Lots of cranky kids in line and some cranky adults, like me.
