We've tried a few things here from the cookies to the chocolates and everything is yummy, but I come for the hot chocolate. You can get regular milk chocolate hot chocolate but I always get either the dark hot chocolate or the Aztec hot chocolate. The Aztec definitely has a kick. I went to Paris almost 20 years ago and still remember being blown away by how decadent their hot chocolate was. I hadn't ever had anything like it before or since that trip - until finding it here. It is simply the best. It's thick and rich and super chocolatey without being too sweet. I've been known to have more than one a day in the damp winter months. I want one right now just thinking about it! The only bummer for me (aside from being an hour and a half away) is that they don't open until 10, even in the summer tourist season and even on weekends. I'm not a coffee drinker so it would be nice if they opened earlier and I could get my cocoa while my friends are getting their coffees for our morning walks on the beach. read more

There's a lot to love here, and all of it is chocolate! We stopped in for a couple of spicy hot chocolates (which they call Mayan Hot Chocolates), and indulged in some truffles while we waited. There are so many beautiful truffles to choose from, but we like white chocolate, so we had a birthday cake truffle and a fruity pebble truffle (among others). Delicious! The Mayan hot chocolates were good, but unfortunately some of the spice wasn't thoroughly mixed in so we each got unexpected mouthfuls of fire! Yikes! It's a small shop. There is a little bit of patio seating, but that's it, so don't plan on staying too long. Still, the assortment of truffles is amazing, and there's a wall of unique chocolate bars as well. Stopped here when we were at the beach. This was the best Coffee I have ever had. I love coffee and drink it constantly. I got an iced americano and it was rich, creamy and delicious. The trick is to stop visiting this place! The hot chocolate drinks are extraordinary and the taste of the chocolate treats is just right not too sweet. You must, must get the chocolate shake here. So thick and creamy. And then try the drinking chocolate (with a side of water) over a lingering convo with a favorite friend. The Chocolate Cafe delivers on its name. There is a beautiful case of truffles, a menu of warm chocolate drinks, and of course the milkshake. No really. I know you *think* have had chocolate milkshakes but you will experiences a whole new level. The inside has less then 5 tables for two and two bistro tables outside. There is a park across the street with picnic tables and the beach is two blocks the other way. They love sharing their knowledge of the varieties of chocolate. The truffles we had at the lodge were delicious. So I ordered a couple of boxes from them off their website for gifts. They are awful. The packaging is horrible. Chocolate all over the inside of the shipping box. It was a complete rip off. read more

The place was amazing for the dark hot chocolate that they serve. Their artisan chocolate variety was quite eclectic but I was not happy with some of the ones that I tried. I stumbled in here by accident and I'm so glad I did! It really is amazing. The quality of the chocolate is unparalleled. The selection is huge and greatly variety. The truffles look like pieces of artwork. Even the boxed chocolate on the wall is superb. I tried a latte when I was there too and it was extremely delicious and expertly crafted. We spoke with one of the owners while we were in there and she was a pleasant ray of sunshine. I don't even eat that much sugar, and I was never a huge fan of chocolate, but I found myself going back here every single day that I was in Cannon Beach! I highly recommend. read more

This shop turned out to have far fewer types of chocolates on hand than I was led to believe. Disappointing because we did some driving to get there. A lot of what was looking very interesting to me in the pictures weren't there. There were too many salted caramels taking their place. What was there were truffles, in very plain flavors, coated marshmallows, and some other nuts& chocolate combinations. Best three things out of the $15 I spent (about 12): 1. Dark Chocolate covered marshmallows (they really were worth it) 2. Orange Truffle (delicious but so small?) 3. Mayan Chocolate (I thought this would mean cinnamon --NOOOOOOOOOooooooo, this means chilis!! Whoooo! Very surprised. Good though. ) Wish I'd had time to try more things. Came in after a nice, long walk in the beach for a luxurious treat. We got legendary chocolate shakes and they were SO GOOD. Super thick. The kind you need to eat with a spoon. There's also a display case full of chocolates, I believe from Moonstruck, a wall full of a variety of European chocolate bars, and a few chocolate drinks and espresso drinks. There's seating inside and out. Despite not being in the center of everything (only a block from downtown, but still it's not a block you walk by), the secret is out about this place. We stood in line for 5-10 minutes. Definitely worth it. read more

A cute little shop in Cannon Beach, the Chocolate Cafe is serving up housemade truffles and baked treats like brownies and cookies, as well as an assortment of Moonstruck chocolates. They also have milkshakes - with chocolate options of course. My partner and I shared the Red Wine shake, which was the chocolate shake with a bit of raspberry wine for flavor. It was delicious - the perfect snack after a nice long walk in the sun! We will be back no doubt, for more milkshakes and chocolate. read more

This place is so good. We went a few years ago and came again this year. The chocolate Mayan milkshake will not disappoint you. It has a definite kick to it. I would highly recommend it. I love chocolates and their truffles are no exception. Cute, decadent, and mouthwatering, I love the little animal shapes they come in. The only reason this isn't a 5 star rating is because of the employees. I understand they must be busy and deal with a lot of tourists, however, that doesn't excuse their obvious disdain for the job. There were two employees working today, and the girl was OK, but the young man just left me feeling like I shouldn't even bother spending my money there. When I asked for a milk shake he flipped his hair out of his eyes and acted like it was such a chore. No smiles whatsoever. When we had questions he acted like it was a bother just to answer them. I will not be returning here nor should you if you value good customer service and great quality for your $$. The coconut macaroon was just awful as it was hard as a rock and crumbled to pieces with each bite. This was definitely the worst macaroon I have ever had and good thing that I have excellent teeth! What a waste of money! Steer clear of the turtles as the caramel is like English toffee because it is hard and crunchy, not chewy like a good caramel should be. The associate was ok until the payment transaction at which she didn't thank me or acknowledge the tip I put in the tip jar. I even said "You're welcome" to hopefully initiate some kind of gratitude for my purchase. But, nothing and shame on her as it is the customers that pay for her wages. Seriously? I find it deplorable to sell such hideous macaroons and also employ those who won't be appreciative of customers. Someone needs retraining such as this counter service person along with the cook! So, go elsewhere for better service and products, or you will be disappointed as I was/am. read more

Cozy little place in Cannon Beach city center to pick up some chocolate treats or enjoy there. Display case on the right has chocolates from Moonstruck, a company from Portland, and are fancy and beautiful looking, reminds me of Godiva. Liquor and wine flavors, bright colors, even a chocolate that looks like a mouse. The case on the left has what I assume is the stuff made in-house. Also, there is a wall of unique chocolate bars with an international flair. They also sell chocolate croissants, milkshakes, bark, and other sweets. I got two Moonstruck beer truffles ($3.75 each plus $.75 for a tiny box) as well as a dark chocolate peanut butter cup ($1.25). Good variety of chocolates and they have samples at the counter. While visiting Portland decided to take a day to visit Cannon Beach and found this little cute Cafe. Well it did not disappoint! First of all the young girl working there was so sweet and lovely. She was so helpful and seemed actually interested in answering our questions and making suggestions. The place was also so cute and inviting. Next the chocolate was too die for.
