I will NEVER go to a dealer or any other mechanic again! Steve and his crew are amazing. Nissan quoted me hundreds more than Choes. I requested a quote through Yelp, Steve replied quickly and professionally. When I brought my Armada in, I told Steve that the brake fluid was dark and needed to be flushed, per Nissan. Steve said, "dealers always say that, I'll check it myself". And what do you know, it did not need to be flushed. I did need a new cam sensor replaced. Nissan said it would be 3 hours of labor. Choes ran to get the part, replaced it, and did an oil change, all in less than 3 hours. My truck is running great now. I'm so impressed with the honesty, quality of work & price. You are on yelp because of a big repair you are worried about, and you want to know if this is a place you can take your car to have it repaired in a transparent and honest way. You're good, dude. Steve is the real deal. When I called for an estimate on a timing belt and water pump replacement on my ls400 I was about to buy, Steve sounded a little rushed on the phone if I'm honest. He called back, gave me a reasonable estimate (way less than a dealer, a little more than what the internet told me it could be), and I set a time to bring it in. Had the car pre-inspected at a lexus dealer before purchasing and found it also would need a new valve gasket. Called up Steve again the day before the repair was scheduled and he called back with a quote in about 20 minutes and said he could do that repair as well. I bought the car, brought it to Steve the next day. I was a ball of stress at this point because my budget for this car was at the edge of what I could do. Steve went over the estimate with me one last time and I gave him the keys. He said he could have it ready the NEXT DAY. That really explained why he sounded like he was in a hurry on the phone; that is a huge workload. For anyone reading this who is not familiar with the ls400's 1uz engine, the timing belt and water pump are and absolute pain in the ass to get to. You would need to disassemble half the engine, replace the belt, tensioner, pulleys, and water pump, reassemble the engine. It's at lest 8 hours of work. So being told that this service as well as two valve gaskets would be done in a day basically, I was pretty impressed. Steve called the next day, said it would be ready a day later as there was an issue with one of the ignition coils being too brittle when changing the valve gasket. The coil was fine, but the plastic valve shattered (It's a 20 year old car, so I was not surprised). I came in the next morning, a day and a half after I dropped it off, and everything on the car ran perfect. No more vibrations from the previous timing belt. Steve is professional and to the point. I plan on coming here for future car services. read more

Exceptional customer service and they really care about their customer's safety! After yelling at myself for being SO careless about not changing my oil at regular intervals (7k miles) ... lucky there were no major internal engine damage. How absolutely careless on my part!!!! They're the first mechanic I've gone to that gave me a quote upfront and it was about the same when I went back to pick up my car. He called me to get the ok to order a part he felt was needed before starting work on my car. I felt his honesty each time he told me what needed to change and when to change. On a late Friday afternoon at 4:20 pm, the right rear passenger window of my Toyota Highlander would not go up. I called three mechanics that I used in the past, two were too busy to help and the other had an answering machine on. I had been reading reviews on yelp and recognized "Choe's Auto" as one of the top shops in the area. I drove my car across the street and Steve came out. He took the door apart and said that the window had fallen off of the track. He would need to send it out for repair and asked that I return the following week. In the meantime because he was concerned about safety and possible rain, he pulled the window up in place and disconnected the motor. It was such a huge relief as I was unsure of how I would secure the car over the weekend. He spent 35 minutes of his own time to help me out. I wasn't even a customer...yet. Repeat visits have been great. Stopped by for oil changes and each time it was done within 20 minutes. Took the car in for front and rear brakes and it was done within two hours. Affordable, trustworthy and quick! I had been putting off some repairs required for my 1996 Toyota Corolla to pass smog and when to Choe's on a recommendation from a coworker. I called ahead and Steve told me to bring it down anytime. I pulled up and Steve dropped everything he was doing to come out and check the engine codes. He gave me an estimate on the spot and said it would be a few hours. No more than three hours later, he called and said the car was ready to go! He said to bring the car back after driving ~60 miles so the engine computer could reset and see if there were any remaining problems. I brought it back a few days later and once again he had me out of there in a few minutes with a recommendation for where to get the smog check done. I cannot speak to the quality of the service as they diagnosed and gave me the correct fix for a failed smog test over the phone, even offering to reset the fault code for me (although the code cleared itself). Honest, fast, and fairly priced. My water pump broke on my VW Golf - which means I couldn't drive it or it would overheat. I did not feel like getting ripped off by the dealer like the last time I took my car in. So I came over here to Yelp and started calling auto shops in my area. Most of them are 1 or 2 person shops and they were all too busy to take on an emergency unless I wanted to wait a few days to a week. Finally I called Choe's and they said they could take it that day (it was already around 10:30) and finish it by 4 or 5pm the same day! I had to have AAA tow my car down there, and Choe's called me once it arrived. Then they called again once they'd opened it up and discovered the problem. They stuck to their original estimate and finished the car right when they'd promised it. I will definitely use them next time I need a mechanic. read more

I recently checked this place out after hearing all sorts of good things about this place. And, they are awesome. I've been to many Auto Centers recently thanks to all the strings of crazy events. Anyway, they are honest, and are very straight forward about their assessments. They don't waste your time, and get things fixed fast and as promised. Even if it is just a oil change, they will do it promptly, and have other small things such as tire pressure check, break check for you. If there are any other issues, they notify you and give you a fair asssessment. I think they are trustworthy, reasonable, and quick. read more

just moved to concord about 3 months ago and was looking for a good, honest, and reasonable mechanic...this place is all of the above, I took my Toyota Camry in for an oil change, waited about 15 min, they were all done! $29 isn't a bad price either. as I was backing up out of the shop, the manager stopped me because he heard my breaks acting up, he checked it out and told me next time I come back for an oil change to get the breaks checked again. he wasn't trying to sell me something I didn't need, more he was just looking out for the car itself. will definitely be a regular, look out for Sean people! read more

I go here for regular oil changes and maintenance on my vehicles and they will give suggestions for additional work only if it's a required issue. I have a Jetta and 2 years in, the WC dealership told me I needed brake work done. Been taking it here since the maintenance warranty expired and Choe's keeps telling my brakes are fine. I just moved here and found them on yelp. My car has had the check engine light forever. Registration was due and a smog check was required so this was a must fix. I took it in Monday morning received a call from them telling me what the problem was. They gave me the price (I was a little sad but I knew it wasn't going to be cheap), I did a little research just to be safe, called them right back and Tues morning they called and the car was done. They not only fixed the problem but also did things like fix a squeaky door and polished my headlights for nothing! Great guys and I strongly suggest them. I have never been to a mechanic that does free diagnosis, but both times it turned out to be something I could fix or could be done cheaper somewhere else. Both times Choe gave me excellent advice to help me save money and both times it was a next day turnaround! Unheard of for any mechanics I have dealt with. I will continue to take my car each time I need mechanical work as Choe treats all of his customers as he would a friend. I wish I could do more than just give him a great yelp review!
