One of the best BBQs that you will find anywhere. We found it by accident six years ago and have re-visited three more times. Even with a new owner, it is as good as we remembered. The ribs and the pulled pork were outstanding. The sides included crispy green beans, tasty baked beans and a sweet potato casserole that my wife absolutely loves. Wow! Just wow! First off, I want to say that my wife and I have been searching for our local barbecue spot since we moved here a few months back. She was born and raised in Kentucky, I was born and raised in Georgia, with a father from North Carolina. She and I just moved here from Tennessee, where we had barbecue catering at our wedding. So needless to say, we know some really good barbecue and have some fairly high expectations, so any barbecue place has a lot to live up to when it comes to the 2 of us. We'd been meaning to stop in for a while as I drive by almost every other day. Finally, we stopped there for lunch yesterday. I got their Trainwreck Sandwich, which is a sandwich with pulled pork, chicken and brisket. I also got potato salad and collard greens. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw and baked beans. All of the sides were perfect. Our sandwiches were smoked beautifully, moist and just delicious. But even greater was the sweet tea. Perfectly balanced. You had perfect sweetness while still being able to taste the tea completely. And our cups didnt empty once. They were so friendly and attentive. I cant wait to try everything on the menu! read more

Excellent meat. I had the train wreck, which is chicken, pulled pork and rib meat. It was fantastic. The sauce is always on the side and it tasted great. I started with just a little and ended up adding a bit more. The green beans were tasty and so was the corn bread. I was disappointed in the Mac and cheese. It was obviously store bought and really tasted like kfc's, and that is not a good thing. Others at the table raved about the sweet potato casserole. I would offer less variety of side and make sure they were good. The lady working was super nice but she talked to whole time through our meal so we couldn't talk to each other, but she really was very, very nice. The food all came out in carry out containers which I thought was a cool touch. The decor was train and John Wayne oriented and I liked the homey and fun feel of the place. This place is a classic case of "don't judge a book by it's cover." The exterior doesn't look 5 star, but trust us the food definitely is! Our family was a little hesitant but my dad insisted we give it a try. We are so glad we did try this place! The staff was super friendly and wanted to here all about our visit to Georgia. It was almost like having lunch with your cousins! Their beer selection isn't great, but an ice cold coke pairs nicely with the outstanding ribs anyway. Our family tried various sides, but the mac and cheese and chips were our favorite. We all had ribs, but the sandwiches looked good as well. Stumbled upon this joint while driving from Savannah to Hilton Head. Nice n clean inside. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. Wifey and I split the 3/4 --- 1/4 lb each of chicken and pork plus 1/4 slab of ribs. The meat was excellent, Mac cheese was great as were the beans. Let me start by stating that the BBQ here is the best ever. Every bite made me smile and I will return again. Here is where this place NEEDS Help: My trip to HHI/Bluffton taught me that a lot of Baby Boomers didn't plan for retirement and are still working to support themselves. We went to this place because I was super hungry. The lady at the counter was really nice. There was a wait and when our food came the lady gave us 2 extra cookies and said sorry for the wait. Have lived here for over four years and have driven by many times. Today I stopped in for lunch. The lunch special which they have daily is any sandwich and two sides plus a drink for $10. I had the brisket sandwich with baked beans and coleslaw plus a lemonade. Absolutely delicious, tender and juicy brisket with great flavorful baked beans and really good coleslaw. Even though the place s just down the road from where I live, it took me awhile to visit, but I was not disappointed. I had a pulled pork sandwich with fries. It was very good. The meat had a nice smoky flavor and the sauce was not heavy or overly sweet. The fries were crisp and well-done without any greasiness. The iced tea was pretty good. Omg. We accidentally stumbled across this place on the way from Hilton Head to Florida. It was the best detour we made. They were out of pork for the day because they were busy, but on their recommendation we got the sandwich that had a combination of all three meats and their mac and cheese, beans and potato salad. It was all delicious. Unfortunately, we only ordered one plate and we were fighting over it down to the last bite, and I'm usually not a fan of BBQ at all. Definitely stop here if you can, you won't be disappointed. My only complaint was that they only take cash however the staff is very very nice and they offset the ATM fee. read more

Well the first time I came here I really liked everything 1/2 chicken and ribs were very good. 2nd time there not so much - food was cold and lady behind the counter was sooooooo rude! There was a sign outside that read "chicken or pulled pork sandwich, fries, coleslaw and drink $8.50". So I told her I wanted the pulled chicken sandwich special. She rolled her eyes and said "uh let me go look at the board I have no idea what the special is"..... when she came back she said it's only for the pork sandwich not the chicken. I told her it says both sandwiches on the board and both are the same price on the regular menu ($5.00) so that does not make sense. She continued to argue with me so I just ordered something else. It's a shame they have such a grumpy lady working behind the counter because the rest of the staff (cooks and owner) are very nice.
