The brisket was so heavily seasoned that I had to drink water throughout the evening, and the turkey was nearly as salty. As a catering chef who has prepared brisket myself, I have never experienced meat this over-seasoned. The salt completely overwhelmed the flavor and ruined what could have been a very enjoyable meal. After spending $44, I expected much better. I even received a call from my doctor regarding my blood pressure, which made the excessive salt especially concerning. The cooking quality was there, but the seasoning needs significant improvement.

The cost was excellent, and so was the "Souther Hospitality". I chose the "Train Wreck" with fries and was greatly satisfied. My wife and I just had simplicity and price in mind for our lunch, and this was an excellent find for both. Our two kids lunches, my wife's lunch and my lunch all together cost less than just my entree alone from the previous nite at a great resteraunt on the Island. And, the meat of the bar-b-ques were very tender and full of flavor, even without any sauce added to them. For the price and satisfaction, I definitely recommend stopping by there for a great lunch. Note: I am even considering stopping by there and picking up a couple pounds of fresh cooked meats to take back up north to Ohio. (yes we have "City BarBQ" where we're from, just more -taste, cost- for the money by getting it at this great little privately owned place. read more

You can't get a spoonful of shrimp AND grits without having to take the tail off first. So then your hands are covered in the gravy and maybe some ppl like it that way, we don't. My husband will eat the tails but he's the only person I've ever known to do that. Our waitress was very pleasant, I wish I could remember her name but it's been a couple of months. Their green beans were outstanding!! They were roasted and I throughly enjoyed them. I would go back again and probably try the pulled pork so I don't have to worry about the bones & cartilage of the ribs. They also didn't take the silver skin off, I prefer it off but maybe some ppl like it that way. Also they corn muffins that came with our meals were burnt on the bottom. The tops tasted good but the bottoms were definitely burnt.

The service was well below average. The employees looked like they didn't want to be there, and there wasn't a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we walked in. To make matters worse, you order at the counter, bus your own table, and are still prompted to leave a tip before you've received any food or service. The food was even worse. Our kids wouldn't even touch the mac and cheese after one bite. It tasted like it was made almost entirely with processed cheese and was a complete miss. Then came the "Garbage Can Nachos." The name couldn't be more fitting. They probably should have stayed in the garbage can. It was essentially a bucket full of chips with a tiny amount of cold pulled pork and processed cheese on top. I'd say it was about 90% chips and 10% toppings. To make it even more ridiculous, the food runner slammed the bucket onto the plate multiple times to crush the chips so the toppings wouldn't fall off. Watching someone intentionally pulverize your food before serving it was almost comical. For a BBQ restaurant, the menu was incredibly underwhelming. The quality simply wasn't there, and neither was the beer selection, with only four beers on tap. Everything about the experience felt like it was designed to cater to one-time tourists rather than earn repeat customers. Coligny Plaza deserves restaurants that people are excited to come back to. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them. Between the poor service, disappointing food, limited beer selection, and awkward counter-service model with a tip prompt, we left wishing we had chosen literally anywhere else. We won't be back.

It was excellent with at least 6 medium size shrimp along with a delicious corn and seafood broth. The half Po-Boy was definitely a good size packed with large fried oysters. They had a separate room which I didn't visit. I'm guessing for larger parties or overflow. I believe they also serve alcohol although I didn't see a bar when I was there. Mainly people there for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
