This is absolutely one of my favorite places to grab lunch. The ingredients are so fresh, the people working there are always very nice, and the salad is always delicious! I had a great and not so good experience with Chop't. My first experience I was very happy with the portion sizes, the menu choices and the flavor and everything. The second time, the flavor was definitely off. The lettuce to options ratio was ridiculously swayed to the lettuce, and the salad had other things in there than what I ordered. Blame it on the server who initially made it not cleaning up properly or tons of things getting mixed in, but when it got to the dressing maker/chopper (who didn't chop my salad that finely either, so I had large chunks of lettuce) it didn't make for a good salad experience. I'd go back though, even if expensive, because it beats Safeway salads hands down. read more

Ordered three salads, all which were supposed to come with meat. Only one of the salads had tiny tiny pieces of meat in it... barely any at all. The other two had NO meat in it. I've been to this location a few times and the last time I went here, my salad was disgusting. I think the lettuce was not fresh - maybe it was sitting out all afternoon. Arriving around dinner time in Arlington on Easter Sunday from a long drive down from Ontario we read a few reviews and we decided to give Chop't a chance for a healthier option to eating out. So glad we did, as our meals were filling, delicious and crafted expertly by the Chop't crew. Yes, it's a pile of pre-prepped ingredients. Yes, it's kinda expensive for a tossed salad. But it really hit the mark and we may visit again, although pretty sure with only 4 nights we're likely going to keep a variety. Two more happy customers here. read more

This place is a mix between cold stone and chipotle. I don't mean in the bad for you, quick get to the bathroom sort of way. I mean their set up. They make your salad to order, chop it up so get all the ingredients mixed properly and give you a very nice portion of salad to munch on. This used to be a 5 star place until they ruined the kabob cob salad. I didn't realize they had recently ruined my favorite salad until I looked at the menu and realized they added spicy red peppers and charred onions. BLEH I honestly don't remember what they had in the salad before but I know it wasn't that. I believe they used to have red/green (non spicy) peppers that went in the salad but apparently they no longer have em at chop't. The place gets 3 stars because of their service, it's always quick and they know what they're doing, but after corporate ruined my favorite salad I'm not sure I can go back. :( read more

i won't even get into the quality of the food since i think its well known that it is subpar. i get stuck ordering lunch from here every so often due to the lack of options in Rosslyn and each time my order isn't ready and/or is incorrect. i'll purposely go .5 hours after i'm told the order will be ready and still end up standing there waiting with my thumb up my ass while they scramble to make it. i'm also not sure they even read the order as it is usually missing much of what has been ordered. i'm sure my orders suck, but i would prefer to have a wrap with what i have paid for in it than to have to the sandwich maker decide what i should eat. read more

I requested that a trip to Chipotle would be a great Friday Lunch - well my idea was shot down by people who wanted to be healthy and felt like a salad at Chop't would be the way to go. As you can imagine having hopes of Chipotle turn into a healthy visit to Chop't was shocking. I decided that I would take the opportunity to try something new as I had seen multiple people with Chop't bags in Rosslyn. We make our way over and what do I see - a complicated but healthy menu. They have so much stuff that you can choose from. This place is like a Chipotle for salads - the big difference is that you feel healthy coming out of the place. I decided that a Cobb salad was the way to go. I asked for all romaine lettuce as iceberg is just trash. They fix the salads the way you wanted them and I was glad that they had bigger bowls. I love Chopt. I was so excited when they opened in the area (just not my area). Hopefully we can get another 1 or 2 locations out in VA. The salads are healthy, creative and expensive (hence the 4 stars). I am totally loving the Salad Sandwich these days. Initially, I was all over the salad but the one size deal was a bit much. I love veggies as much as the next person but about halfway thru my salad I started to feel like I was grazing. The Salad Sandwich is the perfect option because it is a smaller in size and of course there's bread. Bread does make the world go 'round. The wrap is very thin and quite tasty. I absolutely love that I can call in before noon and get a free "chopping" (that's an additional topping for you newbies. You want to get your dressing on the side as the "choppers" can be a little excessive when pouring it on. Chopt also has a frequent diner promo and you will all be happy to know that tomorrow I get my freebie as I just filled up my card. Oh and don't leave without the strawberry lemonade. read more

I've been coming here for awhile but I think I'm done now and will move on to other places. I ordered just three extra items on my salad today (chicken, olives, and tomatoes). Much to my surprise, these simple additions turned my $8.00 salad into a $15.00 salad! That's crazy. I almost walked out but by then I'd waited long enough for it so I decided to pay up and vote with my feet after today. Hey, I know this isn't subway where you can load up for free, but come on. $7.00 extra for three inexpensive toppings?? If I had ordered chopped filet mignon, caviar, and a liberal dusting of saffron, I could understand. But for the small amount of olives and tomatoes they added, $7.00 is highway robbery. The salad wasn't even that good and seemed to be about 90% lettuce anyway. I don't think they'll miss my business since the place continues to be packed at lunchtime. I am generally not a salad as a main course of a meal kind of guy. However, I ordered the steak house salad and was pleasently surprised. The salad was huge and filling, and covered with smoke blue cheese dressing, blue cheese crumbles, onion straws, tomatoes and medium rare steak. I only had two problems. 1. the steak was cold. I would have liked it warm, at least. 2. With a can of soda the salad cost $12 and change. I get that it would be expensive because of the steak and maybe the blue cheese crumbles, but $12 for a salad is a little steep. read more

I can't in good conscience endorse this business... I understand their rent is high for location but they should charge an extra dollar then and actually give you food instead of lettuce and rip you off. I ordered a couple more times since this first review and both times I basically got lettuce with very little of each topping, like ridiculously little. I mean, sunflower seeds -maybe a teaspoon... chicken, a bit over 2 oz. but for what you pay extra for meat, that's absurd. The toppings are appropriate for a salad half the size... so what are you paying for... lettuce and the owner's rent. Also, they gave me a coupon punched for the first delivery I received and never honored it since, saying the punch coupons where you get a 10th salad free is only good for dine-in and take out.... so why advertise that in the first place or give it to me in the first place -it's NOT written anywhere, just the manager's verbal that they won't honor it. If the owners act cheap and rip off customers, how long can they stay in business even if it's healthy. So, at $9 a salad plus tax and tip you can count on 95% lettuce and an insufficient quantity of protein for even those on a diet. On the plus side, the dressing size is adequate... so you can get full on lettuce w/ dressing. read more

I went to this place with a group of friends seeking a more healthier eating option than burgers. They have a giant menu on the wall and you are given about a minute to figure out what they have there before one of the employees shouts "next" and you find yourself trying to decide on Caesar or Asian. Then there is the chaos of confused customers trying to figure out where to go next...do I wait, go to the register, what's my next move...and at some point you may find yourself staring at a huge metal bowl full of salad and the guy is asking what dressing you want and to say when and then he starts pouring and you are so shocked at this huge bowl (for me???) that you say stop too soon. Now you have a big bowl of salad with not enough dressing so you pour salt and pepper on it to make up for it. At least I liked my soda which was made with sugar (they went with a local company). The food is not bad, just not worth the price. Two stars for freshness and soda. I wouldn't eat here again nor recommend it to my friends. read more

I was missing a similar place called Salad Spinners from Chi-town so I headed to this place which has the same concept. Pick ingredients or one of preselected salad combo and they mix and toss for you. First of all, this place is very busy both times I've been there. The line is bit confusing since the person who takes the order and makes it is different and they don't often tell you who your order got passed to. Then they look at you all exasperated when you don't answer when they ask you a question about your salad. Um, are you talking to me or the 20 people behind me also waiting on their salad? They give you a good portion of your veggies and pathetic portion of meat. And the meat selection is pretty basic like grilled or fried chicken, steak, or shrimp. I miss the grilled salmon or buffalo calamari over my apple walnut salad with sprinkle of honey and balsamic vinagar. Both times salad was a disappointment but maybe cause I went with their prenamed ones instead of picking my own ingredients. I will have to try to recreate my apple walnut salad with blue cheese and cranberries next time I go there although they do not have honey or salmon as options. And lastly, it is pretty darn expensive once you add meat and premium cheese and they charge you extra for ingredients like walnuts, craisins and sundried tomato. My total with a lemonaid came to over $14. Ouch. read more
