Cozy breakfast place with delicious food! Fresh hot coffee right when we sat down. Worst part of our meal was having to pick just one thing off the menu. I chose Huevos Rancheros and my husband got their country fried steak! Both were equally delicious! Our starchy sides were also great...sweet potato spears for me and Jalepeno cheddar polenta for him! And house made sauces were delicious. Wish we lived in town so we could try other stuff. Everything here is perfectly perfect. The roasted garlic Bloody Mary, the shrimp Benedict on the crispy jalapeño polenta, the perfectly poached eggs, the crispy and rich Brussel sprouts...all amazing. My girlfriend had the pulled pork Benedict. It's was amazing from the blue cheese down to the crispy toast on the bottom. The service was friendly and prompt. Plus they have a dog friendly patio. I love everything about this place. I only lived in Bend for a few weeks, but I ate here several times while I was there. It was my go-to breakfast/lunch place. Their food is amazing, they have GF (the best GF pancakes) and V options, and they don't uncharge for GF like most places. It's set up super cute and casual, like a homey dining room, and I like the staff. Fun atmosphere! Very eclectic and cozy. We came in early and I'm glad we did. 9 am was a perfect time. As recommend by friends. No wait. We ordered a large mimosa and Bloody Mary cocktail. Both came quickly after ordering. I had the smoked blackberry French toast on challah bread which was soo good but I couldn't finish it. Hubby had the local: two eggs, bacon and toast with fresh jam. I was visiting Bend in May 2018 from out of town for a week long climbing trip. We went out to eat a lot. This place left a lasting impression on me. The food was really good, like REALLY good. It was a pleasant surprise considering I'm vegetarian and vegetarian options at many places (that are not exclusively vegetarian) are usually just an afterthought and not really thoughtful or well planned. Not the case here. We came as a party of five, and four of us were vegetarian. We all shared food and were extremely impressed by the menu, both by how many vegetarian options there were and also by how tasty all of the options we ordered were. Last Sunday 4 friends and I came here (all for the first time except 1 person). We got there about 11:30 and was told there was a 30 minute wait (although several tables outside and at least 1 that I saw inside were empty. That was fine, I got us $3/each basic diner coffee from the bar and we sat out side and waited (getting cream/ sugar/refills was like pulling teeth). After 40 minutes we got seated then waited. And waited. We stopped a guy after a while and asked for water. Had to eventually ask a second time and he brought out glasses. No water. NEVER did bring water. I went and found a water pitcher and filled our glasses. Then went and got more coffee refills. Then asked two times for creamer. Two tables near us that were seated at about the same time as us finished their meals and left and we STILL had not been waited on. Eventually a waiter came and took drink orders from 3 of the 5 of us. Just didn't even ask 2 of us at all. They got their drinks then we waited. And waited. We finally placed our food orders. Then waited. One friend went back to the bar to get Bloody Mary refills because it was pointless expecting the waiter to check in on us. The food finally came; my order was completely wrong (it was supposed to be bacon, scrambled eggs, toast-- the easiest meal you can possible make). Instead of apologizing, the waiter said it was correct and got out his little notepad and read my order back to me, I guess to prove me wrong but no, the order was, in fact, completely wrong. It was 1:30 by the time he took my wrong order away. He said mistakes get made when they work as fast as they were. Seriously? Almost 2 hours to F-up scrambled eggs and bacon?? About 15 minutes later my meal arrived (my friends were about half finished with theirs at that point because everyone was so hungry they just scarfed); the potatoes were room temp and hard, the rest was fine but it's also the most basic meal known to man. The jam for the toast was very good. My friends reported their food as "good" (for a burger) to "I didn't like it" (I don't know what she had--something with a poached egg). I realize the place is trendy but you still have to do the actual job. Our friend that had wanted to go there insisted on paying the tab because she felt so bad about the experience--that just sucks that someone would feel that bad about taking people somewhere. Completely underwhelmed. Food was amazing but was quoted a 45 min wait which was almost an hour and a half. We were a party of 5 and 1 person didn't receive their food after everyone else was finished. Whisked away a plate before someone was finished eating. We saw our server a total of 3 times (order, bring food, and our bill). I understand this is a busy brunch spot but communication is key. Highly disappointed in the customer service. Loved it! We were visiting Bend for the first time and looking for breakfast/brunch. We were decidedly looking for a 'Bend experience'. We found it at Chow! It's a cozy little place that looks more like a home than a restaurant. Not sure if there is seating inside or not but it was pleasant enough sitting out in the shade around our table. The wait staff was professional and the food was fantastic. My wife had a 'farmers omelet' (not sure if that's what it was called or no but you get the gist). I had eggs Benedict over a slice if pork belly. Both came with the best home fried potatoes I have ever eaten. Additionally their Bloody Mary was fantastic. AMAZING!!! We went to Chow for breakfast and were amazed by the taste and quality of the food! The plate presentation was beautiful as well. I had the blackstone and it was everything I could do not to lick the plate clean, it was that good. La-la-loving this restaurant! My friend and I come to Bend pretty often to climb at Smith Rock, so we are in serious need of a good meal. What we got a Chow was way better than we expected. Everyone that works at this restaurant really cares about the food they serve. Our waitress told us that the first dish she tried made her want to work here. The coffee is superb, and the wellness drink was excellent. Oh, and did I mention we came two days in a row? Yes, we did. We ordered many things, and everything was so perfectly cooked, and flavored. The potatoes were so crispy, and well seasoned, the creamy polenta garlic-y delicious, the eggs so perfectly poached, the bacon... I could go on and on, but I won't. Awesome food. 3 types of homemade hot sauces, yummy homemade bread. On the vinny-the traditional eggs Benedict the bread could have been cut a little thinner-seemed a little doughy by the end.
