Stopped by for lunch.. We're traveling and like to eat local.. The place looked popular as people streamed while we were there. We ordered two sandwich and soup specials (combo #2) from the counter. We both got the baked potato soup and I got the Rueben and she got the turkey and avocado. The soup was delivered to the table first and it was piping hot and delicious. The sandwiches came next and although the Rueben was good it just wasn't a traditional Rueben. They didn't use rye bread and it wasn't grilled it was toasted (although it did say it was toasted on the menu). All in all it was a good experience and we would definitely come back for the soup. read more

Everything!! The manager or whoever bitched at his server the whole time we were ordering. The sandwich was the worst sandwich I have ever had. I had the BLT lunch special. It had one slice of tomatoes about 1 1/2 in round and extremely crisp bacon. No mayo, no nothing, totally over toasted. Don't waste your money or time. Sooo disappointed. read more

I love veggies on my sandwiches, burgers, salads, pasta, just about everything. So I went with their California Sunshine Club. It comes on a French roll and is layered with turkey, ham, crispy bacon, cheddar, provolone, real sliced avocado, tomatoes, and lettuce. It was piled nice and high and the bread was soft. I didn't get the roll toasted, but that is always an option. After asking the person taking our order what their favorite sandwich was, my brother ordered their Casey's Club, toasted. The way the person at the counter suggested. The Casey's Club has the same meats as their Sunshine Club, but none of the veggies. If you're ever in the Valley for lunch (NW corner of Sprague and Evergreen), definitely give them a try and don't forget to have some of their free popcorn -- at Casey's Place. read more

Sadly disappointed. We figured that a locally owned business would be better quality than the corporate chains. My half club was basically turkey, cheese and lettuce, nothing else, no toast. My wife had the half BLT with one small slice of tomato and a small piece of lettuce. Service was fine. read more

Always get the Casey's club and it's always wonderful! My dad got the Rueben and LOVED it! My husband got the French dip and LOVED it!!

Now that's a Rueben! Balanced flavors, plenty of meat and great bread. Really delicious and a sandwich I look forward to having again soon!

California Sunshine Club was mediocre at best. I could make a sandwich exactly like this in my own home. Baked Potato Soup was very disappointing, it is not homemade, it is like potato water, no chunks of potato, just.... liquid... I was really hoping for better after reading reviews. Typically pretty busy at lunchtime but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes. The daily soup choices are always hot and flavorful. Nice variety of meats and cheeses. The breads are fresh and tasty. This place could give Dominis (downtown sandwich icon)a run for their money! The thing is, they're only open until 3:00pm. I have said before that the sandwich is nature's most perfect food. I have also said the best kind of food is where it can only be had one place on earth. Casey's is a locally owned, one location sandwich shop. Sweet! Prices are about on par with Subway. You don't get to watch them concoct your masterpiece though. Maybe I am spoiled from Subway doing that (other places too). Got my sandwich, it had been microwaved...and the bread was chewy as a result. It was suppposed to be an italian thing, but what little pepperoni was there was dominated by super salty ham. I actually could not finish the sandwich. The only reason for using ham that salty is for making soup. The staff was really friendly, but I was really unhappy with the sandwich I got. I may try something one more time from this place, maybe not. If you do go here, don't get anything with ham. read more

Went here for lunch. Ordered a lunch special (half club sandwich, chips, drink). Sadly I have to order mine "dry" so without mayo or mustard due to an allergy of paprika. First time they brought it out it had "no mustard" if you don't count the big thumbprint of mustard on too of the bread. 2nd try I opened it up and mustard on the provolone. Third try and I could finally try it. It was decently meaty, but the bread wasn't great and the deli meat not the best. Oh well, it was worth a shot and perhaps if you don't have any allergies to worry about perhaps you could give them a try. They didn't take mine seriously, so I won't be giving them a chance to see if they can do better than mediocre. read more

Standard sandwich shop, nice for a quick bite. Staff was short and rude with us. The environment is a bit grimy and needs a good deep cleaning. You can see the food being made so that's a plus. The food itself had good flavor and freshness, but it was soggy and they don't build their sandwiches in a way that's good for leftovers. French bread is too soft for what they use it for, if they used a sturdier bread I would add another star. The crowd and vibe is older and.. judgey? I always seem to miss the hours for this place. Not today. I had the club. The lunch was pretty filling and the only drawback was the bread on the sandwich. As I ate towards the end the sandwich seem to fall apart. Happened with both halves. The meat quality was pretty good and although they don't make their own soup it was pretty good. Found out about this spot on a food blogger that we follow on IG. She did not disappoint, great sandwiches place was clean. I tried the Garden Sandwich with Turkey with chicken noodle soup. The employee taking orders has very little customer service skills. She makes no eye contact, no greeting and quite frankly Mom an I felt like cattle being herded to the trough. Lets start with some background. This place has been around for years! How do i know? My 78 year old grandma gave me the "skinny skinny." Apparently back in the day this sandwich shop was much smaller, but as the business expanded it out grew it's original shop size and bought the building next to it. This is why there are two doors; one that is a double door, and one that is not. The interior was/is minimalistic and very little has changed from the original building design. That said, there is room for improvement to re-image the place, but for what it is currently, it isn't bad. The owners keep the place very clean. Over the last 5 years, i have been to Casey's Place countless times for lunch. Despite the older crowd, this place is great to meet friends and family for lunch. Some of the highlights to this cozy place is the popcorn with lunch, the lemon pre-cut and available by the soda machine for your large water, and the potato soup. Even if that soup is from some sort of mix or can, it tastes pretty darn good! As for the sandwiches, I would recommend staying away from anything that is grilled. This place has not perfected the grill, but they have perfected the plain jane sandwich. I personally have fallen in love with the Casey's club. Throw some mayo, and mustard on that baby and I'm in heaven! It may taste a little salty, but thats what the water is for! Another highlight is the sandwich card. For every 10th sandwich you order, you get a free sandwich. Since this pace is so convenient for lunch I have found myself using these cards and eating here at least twice a week. The service here is also great and very friendly. The owners have come to know me personally and my order as I am now asked, "Will it be the 'usual' today?" Casey's Place gets 4 of 5 stars because they could easily improve interior atmosphere, and they could improve their sandwiches by throwing out the microwave. I highly recommend this place for lunch as long as you stay away from the grilled sandwich choices. =] read more

The sandwiches are high priced for the lack of quality; thin processed meat, thin processed cheese, bread is fluffy and tasteless. I've been coming here for literally my whole life. My grandma found this place when I was little and frequented it for their delicious potato soup and Casey's club sandwiches. She has passed this love on to me, even living states away it is still my favorite sandwich. I haven't lived in Spokane for almost 10 years, but it is STILL my first stop when I am back in town. I read some other reviews and am bummed to hear of their bread experience. I LOVE their thick squishy /soft French bread! The sandwiches are piled high with lunch meat and toppings, but others comments on it being salty are not untrue. I enjoy the mustard/mayo ratio to bread, meat and cheese. Most soups are ok, but the last couple years taste more like flavored water. However, the potato soup is still the BEST ever! Let's talk about the owners and all comments about them. A conveniently located sandwich shop. However....you only get '1' vegetable for free on your deli sandwich. If you want pickles, onions, lettuce - they are available for a fee. Your $5 sandwich can easily be $9. The daily special is a bargain and includes your drink and chips. The white and wheat bread is extra fluffy. I have been craving a good deli sandwich, got on Yelp and looked up my options. This seemed to be perfect and close. The inside is clean and open. You order at the counter and the menus are at the counter. The menu is pretty much soup, salad, sandwiches, and chips. The employees helping me, two of them man and women, were kind of snotty and rude. Neither smiled or used please nor thank you. I was actually snapped at and told "no you will get this.... Let me ask the questions." Kind of made me uncomfortable. The food was good. The baked potato soup was delic, and my club sandwich was okay. Bread was a little hard and way too much condiments. I went there recently for lunch and ordered the soup, sandwich, chip combo. I was really looking forward to the beef barley soup and was completely disappointed to find out it was mostly broth with a couple lonely carrots floating around. I had to struggle to find two minuscule pieces of beef. The sandwich was good, But the soup was a bomb. If you're going to advertise beef barley soup you need to put ingredients in it. This is a well run Mom and Pop shop that has been locally owned and operated for many years. I've eaten at this place for the last time. It is local to my work so it gets some overflow from those of us in the same strip mall. I am amazed at how many people are in this place paying upwards of $8 for a simple sandwich. First, I was overcharged and had to argue with the cashier. She gave me a refund but it didn't seem enough and as there was someone behind me, I didn't push it. So for a grilled cheese "large" sandwich and a tiny cup of soup (12 spoonfulls) and a soda - $12. This is ridiculous. Made even laughable when I got my sandwich and it was two slices of tasteless bread with ONE slice of cheese melted into nothingness. There was no flavor at all. How about two kinds of cheese? A little salted butter. It was hardly even "grilled" and seemed more microwaved as it was chewy, not crisp and melty like you would expect. In the past I've ordered just a turkey sandwich and requested cheddar and swiss - but they have never gotten that right. It's like they can't comprehend anyone wanting more than one flavor. My work ordered lunch from here and I have to say that the turkey sandwich was delicious! The tomatoes and lettuce tasted incredibly fresh, and even though I ordered a small it was still a good size. My only surprise was I ordered onion on my sandwich and it came out with green onions rather than red or white onion, so be sure to specify! read more

I love this place! I live out of town now, but every time I'm in Spokane I come here for lunch at least once. The sandwiches are delicious - great bread, meat and cheese! Their soup is really good, too. My order is almost always the lunch combo with a small hawaiian sandwich and baked potato soup... yum yum. The prices are really good for the quality of food you get. I am absolutely shocked at some of the other reviews I have seen on here. I have been here probably 60 times, and never once had anything but a 5 star experience. This is a must for lunch in Spokane. read more
